Copics Certification Class Comes to Branson!

Those who know me, even a little, know that I LOVE COPICS!  I've been watching the Copics Certification Class schedule for over a year, but had to miss a couple of classes that were fairly close by.  However, that has all changed!  On September 3 Copics Certification is coming to BRANSON!  Woohoo!  I applied, was accepted and ready to go!  Oh, I just can't wait!!

If you are even thinking about taking the class, let me further entice you with my own plug for Branson.  The class is on Friday, so you can make a whole weekend of it:  live shows, boating, fishing, shopping, and the greatest restaurants!  And the scenery! Just driving through the beautiful winding country roads is so relaxing and invigorating!

Ok, now, y'all come!  I can't wait to see my friends and make new ones!!

Copic Colour Challenge #49

Yes, this is my second post of the evening!  I actually did two challenge cards today, both on the first day of the challenges!  It's not that I'm that organized, just needed to get ahead of the next couple of days.  Besides, the color scheme at Copic Colour Challenge #49 was just too good to pass up!   Here it is:

I had a couple of illustrations pop into my head right away and I chose the beautiful "Christening" by Mo Manning.  Then I put together an ivory card with subtle embellishments and pearls.

Materials:
Papers:  Ivory card stock from PaperTrey, scrap from K&Company
Prima Flowers with rose centers embellished with tiny stick-on pearls
Antique lace (I don't remember where I got it --- sorry)
Stick-on medium pearls
Cross charm
Cuttlebug Bloom Dots embossing folder

I love this illustration, as I do all of Mo's work!  I wish I knew a new baby girl to give this to!  There are some beautiful projects over at Copic Colour Challenge --- hop on over for a look!

Thank you for stopping by again!

Whiff of Joy Challenge #36

My goodness, the weeks are flying by! Here I am under the wire again for one of my favorite challenge blogs. To make matters worse, blogger gave me fits when I was uploading my photos! But, here they are!

This week's Whiff of Joy Challenge is a brilliant sketch from Heather. Wow! What fun this one was! I just received my new wedding and new mother stamps from Whiff of Joy and they are just beautiful! Of course I had to ink them up for a card!

I used Copics for all images. The wedding dress is highlighted with E41 Pearl white and coated with Angel Wings Shimmerz. The flowers are colored with RV11, R22, YR21, G21, and G85. The bride image was stamped on Papertrey Select White with Memento Black. That is the best combination for Copics! The die cuts were done with the Nestibilities labels dies, the lower paper is Papertrey Vintage Cream. The DP is from K & Company and has the most beautiful sentiment around the boarder. All the embellies are from my stash. The dove is from the new WOJ collection and I highlighted him with C1 Cool Grey and covered with the same Shimmerz.

Here is Heather's sketch. I'll just have to use this again and again!

On the inside I just had to add the cake image and the ring pillow. I used the same colors as for the dress and coated both pieces with the Shimmerz.

I know that I will be using these stamps over and over! There are just so many possibilities!!
Thank you for stopping by! Please be sure to visit the WOJ Challenge blog and see all the gorgeous cards from the design team as well as the participants!

Call Out for Copic Vendors!

I have been bitten by the Copic bug! I have found them to been in short supply locally, and have found online suppliers. But I continue to look for good prices, of course, and selection. I am in the US but am also interested in online locations in Canada for a dear friend who is ready to take the plunge.

I have another question: I ordered a couple of sets and when I got them they are the Copic Ciao, not the Sketch. Other than the difference in barrel shape they appear to be the same. But, all you experts out there, can you tell me what the other differences might be?

Reaching out is one of the greatest things about blogging. So thank you in advance, for all your help!
