Carte Postale

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my last post for Katzelkraft. I have decided to step down from the team because I have taken on so much in the last few years that crafting has become a full time job. I never wanted this to happen so I decided it was time to step down from some teams, Katzelkraft being one of them.

For today I have made a postcard with Yupo paper and alcohol inks. I always forget I have those because I grab acrylic paints almost every time !

After putting the alcohol inks on I waited for it to go tacky and added some metal foil; it sticks where the ink is not quite dry. I also stamped the flower head from set KTZ219 with gold paint. You can only see it when you tip the card.

I stamped the bird on white card stock and coloured him with Copic Markers, adding shading with coloured pencils. I also stamped him on the card.
The sentiment was stamped straight on the card. I also doodled around the bird and the edge of the card with black and white pens and added some shading under him.

I used the following stamps:

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

For this weeks Vera Lane Studio project I have made 2 postcards.

This card used a gel print and one of the teachers of 'Teachers 2'. I just paired her with this snarky sentiment and some washi tape. She was coloured with pencils.

You'll find Teachers 2 HERE.

Gel

For this card I created a background with Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool. I first heat embossed a stamp with white powder. I then added the ink and spritzed with water and dried it.
I then used a brayer and white paint to add some more interest. These kids are from the new set 'A little Class'. I coloured them with Copic markers.  The sentiment is part of the sentiment that comes with the set.

An art journal page for AALL & Create

Hello everyone,

For my last August DT post for AALL & Create I have made an art journal page. I made this while watching Tracy demoing on Hochanda on the 10th. I loved some of her techniques and tried her brayer method to paint on the page for this project !

And here's how:

I started with a brayer to put the paint on the paper. I used yellow and turquoise, some of my favourite colours ! I then stamped the flower, once on the painted paper and part of it on white MM paper.

Next I stamped the background using Distress Oxides (Broken China and Twisted Citron) and Versafine Clair (Nocturne).

I then added modelling paste with the Lotza Dotz stencil, some strips of washi tapes and pieces of dictionary paper. This is something I used to do a lot and Tracy just reminded me how cool this is..

I then coloured the flowers on the separate pieces of paper with watercolours and cut them out. I adhered them on top of the ones on the page.

I then added splatters (I think this is an AALL & Create illness, we all do it!) and some more stamping; I also drew a broken line around the page. I decided against adding a sentiment.

I have used the following stamps/stencils:

Stamp set #203 - Flying High
Stamp set #211 - Count on you
Stamp set #207 Botanicals Modified
Stencil #39 - Lotza Dotz

A little book for the 'texture' challenge over at Country View Crafts !

Hello everyone,

for the second inspiration piece of the texture challenge set by the lovely Miriam over at Country View Challenges I have made/decorated a little travel journal.

I have used the Eileen Hull Passport die for this....

I haven't yet put any signatures of paper in it but I will..

If you'd like to see how I made this then please hop over to my YouTube channel HERE, or click on the pic below..

Hello everyone,

For today's Katzelkraft post I have made a tag. I cut it out of watercolour paper and then stamped the images on it, masking where needed. Next I coloured everything with watercolours and added shading with coloured pencils.

This week at Vera Lane studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday and welcome to my blogpost for Vera Lane Studio. For today I have made a journal page with the newly released 'Contessa' and a postcard with the other image from the same set. I love these mad girls..

This page was made with a gelli print, I added some white embossed circles and dots and then scribbled some words around some of the circles. Contessa was coloured with coloured pencils and cut out. I adhered her as if she is floating in the air ! lol, I bet she could too ! I then added the sentiment and doodled around the strips with a black pen.

For this postcard I made a background with Distress Oxide Inks. I used yellow and an little bit of brown. I smeared both inks over a stencil and then sprayed it with water. I printed it on the paper. Obviously I should have used the other side of the stencil because the numbers are mirrored.. lol
Oh well, I then added the measuring tape washi and placed Contessa, who is coloured with pencils, on top. I used a sentiment from the set.

You'll find this cutie HERE

Vintage journal

Hello everyone,

For today's AALL & Create post I have made a small journal. I recently acquired the Eileen Hull Passport die and decided to use it for this book. I added a heart, also a die cut, and some beads. Of course there are lots of AALL & Create stamps and a stencil too ! I decided to glue the covers on the front of the flap that forms the spine and not on the back. This way it is easier to decorate.

And here's how:

After die cutting the book, gluing it together and punching more holes in the middle ( I wanted to do a pamphlet stitch ) I painted it with a very light blue acrylic paint. I then overpainted with white and put the number stencil on. I wiped away the paint through the stencil with a baby wipe and some more after taking the stencil off. This gives a nice worn look.

Next I stamped the cover in some places with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with copper embossing powder. I also stamped with light blue Distress Oxide ink and heat embossed with clear powder.

A detail of the copper embossing.

Next I inked the edges and decided to go vintage ! I used Olga's 'Vintage assorted' set to stamp some more.

I added splatters with a black and a white paint pen. The heart is a Tim Holtz die and I treated it with crackle paint and the same blue ink as the cover. I added the two birds from the stamp set. Looks like they are in love, doesn't it!  I also inked the folds to make it look old. I also added one of the birds on the back of the journal.

Close ups..

Love how it turned out !

For the final touch I added three signatures of paper and bound them with a pamphlet stitch. I then added beads to the threads.

I have used the following stamps and stencil:

#67 - Vintage Assorted by Olga Heldwein
#211 - Count on you by Aida Domisiewicz

#30 Number stencil by Autour de Mwa

Through the looking glass

Hello everyone,

welcome to my blogpost for VivaLasVegaStamps! where today I have a mini art journal page to share. I have used some of my favourite stamps for this !

I love Alice in Wonderland ! No idea why, as I didn't even read the books when I was young.. I got into it when I started crafting.

I started with heat embossing a page from my mini journal. I usually tear out pages, do the journal and glue them back into my book.

Next I added colour with Distress Oxide inks in two shades of blue.

Then I added stamping with the same inks.

Alice was stamped on white card stock and coloured with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment on the page too.

And here it is all put together. I love how it came out.

I used the following stamps:

Other materials:
WOW embossing powder white
Distress Oxide inks - Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans
Black Versafine Clair ink
Copic Markers

This week at Vera Lane Studio

Hello everyone,

Happy Thursday and welcome to my blogpost for Vera Lane Studio. For today I have made a journal page with the newly released 'Land and sea' and a tag with an older image called 'Sit and think'. Here is the fist project:

Isn't this little mermaid cat fabulous ! lol, I coloured her with pencils and then made a background for her with old fashioned Distress Inks. I added the cat and the sentiment, which is from the same set, and added some more pencil along the words.

You find 'Land & Sea' HERE

This tag was made with Mixed media paper which I coloured again with Distress Inks. I used two browns and a tiny bit of orange. She was coloured with coloured pencils and added on some washi tape. I used a Tim Holtz clipping sticker because I thought it was very fitting.

You find this lovely girl HERE

Believe in yourself

Hello everyone,

I have a card to share today. I made this for AALL & Create with some of Tracy's fab stamps.

and here's how :

I heat embossed stamp #210 with white powder on a piece of watercolour paper.

I then coloured the paper with watercolours.

I stamped one flower from set #200 three times and coloured them with watercolours also.

I drew the stem by hand and doodled around the card with a black pen. I adhered the flowers on the card panel.

And voila ! I added a sentiment from set #200 and popped it up with dimensional adhesive.

I think it came out lovely and 'sunny' !

I have used set #200 and #210 for this card; both by Tracy Evans.
