i think your right
Maxim it looks like that is the case, once an admin is in power, they can do whatever they want, there is no removing them no matter how much the misbehave. I mean maybe I did some bad stuff, like got into an argument, but no way do I deserve a permanent ban. Why?
Why are you the enemy of Atheists, I'm an Atheist, I don't want to be your enemy, I want to be your friend... Prof. Pine 20:44 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- Guys, move this to the forums. I may not agree with Maxim on this either, Pine, but this has nothing to do with Bulbapedia and it'll drag an argument that doesn't belong here. --electAbuzzzz 20:50, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
OK, I'm soz Maxim if I was harsh on you, also next time I'll remember use the forum's ;) Prof. Pine 18:08 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Playing Nice
If you don't agree with somebody, that isn't a license to bash them. Play nice. You could get a good head start on playing nice if you apologized. And make it heartfelt--not just because I asked you to. -- evkl (need to talk?) 19:04, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- There's a big difference between permitting something in that you believe is wrong and being nice. And it does work--because if it didn't, well, I'd support the way you acted towards him. But you were hostile, for no good reason. Your "years of research" on the name of a light house are fantastic, but you could've been a lot nicer and more accomodating of the issue than you were. That may be my opinion but it's also an opinion I'm sticking to. -- evkl (need to talk?) 11:04, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm a little confused
After looking through that page history, I'm not sure to what you're referring. I can't see any of the deletion comments on that image that mention other users. -- evkl (need to talk?) 14:40, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- Kuki was hotlinking us from other sites, so we changed the image to discourage him. It seemed to work. -- evkl (need to talk?) 18:51, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- Why do we have to mess with Bulbapedia just to discourage Kuki? There have to be better ways to make him stop then to make Bulbapedia suffer. --ケンジのガール 18:54, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- Because hotlinking images steals our bandwidth, and I'm very willing to send a message that we aren't okay with our bandwidth being stolen. A long-term fix will be implemented shortly, but that's the first issue we had, and from a user who's been nothing but trouble, I don't think a bit of showmanship was uncalled for. We didn't impact any images on the site. -- evkl (need to talk?) 19:46, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- Playing nice only applies on the site itself. Also, I don't think Kuki would actually deny that he has a fetish for pregnant women. It's quite apparent from his art that it is the case. But more to the point, aren't you the one always saying we should 'be ourselves' and not really have any inhibitions about what we say? Then, in your view, someone follows your advice and you're the voice of moral outrage? I didn't say it was acceptable. I said that I think it's within our rights to discourage such hotlinking. If there was discipline, I wouldn't do it in public. But more to the point, why do you really care? If your whole goal is to expose a double standard, well, I don't think that's quite applicable. Of course if a regular user vandalized an image of ours we'd have issues. But for us to change an image or move it because of hotlinking is a whole different issue. Don't try to simplify things--and conflate them--to make your point easy to prove. It isn't nearly so simple. -- evkl (need to talk?) 20:09, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- I disagree. Ket speaks her mind but is fully fit to be an admin. If anything, Ket is one of the admins who least toes the 'party line,' and is a refreshing dissenting voice in many of our conversations. We have a 'play nice' policy, but we also don't really have a policy towards profanity or otherwise "offensive" images/words/things of that nature. Somebody can say "don't fuck around with the image" and I really couldn't care less, because I like treating people like they're mature adults. If you think it was inappropriate, talk to Ket about it and let her know you'd rather she be more polite in the future. But for an issue which is fundamentally a difference of opinion over what's appropriate and what isn't--not an issue of was she mean or not, because I think truth is a defense to libel (and by extension defamation). I'm not trying to be a dick about this or put up a blue wall-style shield around our administrators, but I've had issues with admins stepping out of line and this comes nowhere near an actionable level of conduct. -- evkl (need to talk?) 21:18, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- First of all, this is the internet. Nobody commits crimes here. Second, the CoC is only a Bulbapedia policy. Third, I have full faith in Ket to do her job. I don't know how else I can put it to you, but whatever grudges you hold, I'm not going to take action on them. End of discussion. -- evkl (need to talk?) 13:36, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Project Globe
Hi Maxim. You might've noticed the recently started Project Globe. If not, please take a look. I'm looking for users from different countries to join the project and write more article. Poland, being that Polish is an EP language, is high priority as far as I'm concerned (along with France and Germany, but that's not the issue). I was wondering if you'd be willing to put the time into writing it up? If you're not interested, I would still appreciate it if you could talk to some other Polish users about this, since I don't know who they are. Thanks. --electAbuzzzz 16:33, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Maxim. Just wanted to see if you've done something regarding this already? I'm gonna start stubs of some of the project's missing articles on subpages of mine, hoping that would get people to help expand them and make them ready for mainspace. If you're working on a Poland article already then I'll leave that one to you. If you haven't started yet, I'll create a subpage in my userspace and you can work on it there. Whichever you prefer. --electAbuzzzz 17:02, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
Krabby, Diglett, and Sandshrew
I knew I've never seen these names myself, but they were on the article before I touched it and I simply assumed it's from a different translation. Are you 100% sure the names didn't appear anywhere? --electAbuzzzz 12:39, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Re:
Thanks for the heads up; May, like all anime characters, keep the same names as in English - it was just a translitetion, and I took it off. As for the Poland article - that's great. You can either work on it in your userspace, or, if you do a good nonstub one straight away - put it right in the mainspace. --electAbuzzzz 22:22, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
It has come to my attention
That you have the Japanese Golden Boys chapters. I want to work on this manga, and I was wondering if you can get the Japanese titles of the chapters. Think you can get it done? MaverickNate 03:13, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- Damn. Sorry for bothering you, then. My mistake. Thanks anyway, =] MaverickNate 15:20, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- Some of the images here are beginning to expire. Any possible way you could send Chapter 3 on to me through e-mail? I'm trying to work on the pages for this manga, but my efforts are slowly dying, just like how your project there did. (Also, any possible way to revive it, or at least tell me where I can get the scans from Unown Lord?) MaverickNate 23:57, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Just in case I didn't tell you
Kimberly, the old woman that teaches the three moves...
Her Korean name is 극기 (called 극기 할머니, the latter means 'grandmother' and is a word used when calling an old woman). The origin is pretty easy to infer... 극기 means 'extreme strength' (or 'ultimate strength'). Must refer to her teaching the three strongest moves.
And Lostelle... Her Korean name is also 'Mayo'. (마요)
I just got worried... Even if I told you the names I already forgot. If you already know the names (or were told by me), just think of it as another reminder. Ha ^^;;
--Rhm2768 06:51, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
And ah, your request...
Desert Ruins - 사막의 유적. Literally "Desert's Ruins" in Korean
Jagged Pass - 울퉁불퉁 산길. Means "Bumpy mountain path". Good enough to understand.
Rusturf Tunnel - 금잔 터널. 터널 is 'tunnel' (same pronouciation)
Mt. Pyre - 송화산. '산' is mountain. 송화 refers to a fire that is used in ceremonies so I guess it can relate to 'pyre'.
Seafloor Cavern - 해저동굴. Literally means 'deep sea's cavern'. It works well!
Sky Pillar - 하늘 기둥. Literally means 'sky pillar'.
Cave of Origin - 부활의 사당. Means "Temple of Rebirth'. The Korean dub explains the awakening of Kyogre and Groudon as 'rebirth', by the way.
Artisan Cave - 아틀리에 굴. Means 'studio (atelier) cave'. It's inhabited by Smeargles...so...
Faraway Island - 머나먼 고도. Literally means 'faraway island'
Southern Island - Latios and Latias referred to it as '남쪽의 외딴 섬'. It means 'a remote island at the south'...sounds too long, though
Kindle Road - '저녁노을길'
Mt. Ember - 횃불산. Means 'mountain of fire'
Cape Brink - ? Sorry...couldn't find it yet...
Bond Bridge - doesn't have a specific name... the character just calls it 'that bridge'
Berry Forest - 열매 숲 ('fruit forest')
Icefall Cave - 얼음폭포의 동굴 (means 'cave with ice waterfall'? Well, 얼음 means ice and 폭포 means waterfall)
Resort Gorgeous - 고급 리조트 (high-class resort)
Memorial Pillar - 추억의 탑 ('tower of memories', 탑 means tower, 추억 means memories)
Altering Cave - 요괴의 굴 (Means 'cave of monsters')
Pattern Bush - 증표의 숲 ('Forest of proof')
Ruin Valley - 유적의 골짜기 (means 'valley of ruins')
Tanoby Key - 옥포그리 열쇠
Tanoby Ruins - well, the ruins itself are just referred as '7개의 석실' (seven chambers)
the chambers' names, from left to right (the Korean volume is printed left to right, yes)
움노브리 석실, 우무너스 석실, 루마네즈 석실, 톡크로에 석실, 모스루프 석실, 이그레안 석실, 이라님 석실
Rocket Warehouse - 로켓단 창고. Literally means Rocket (Dan's) Warehouse.
Birth Island - 탄생의 섬 (Literally "Birth Island, or Island of Birth...")
Trainer Tower - 트레이너 타워. Just means 'trainer tower'.
And I have all volumes starting from 16. Feel free to request anything from these volumes. I'll look it up. I have more free time since I got accepted into college this year, so I am visiting Bulbapedia more often.
About Cape Brink, I'll look for it. It must be mentioned somewhere...

About Portuguese names of games
Since you have been doing the right thing, considering both Portugal and Brazil never had and don't have localized versions (and I know this because I'm Portuguese), I think you'd like to hear about the new Template:Langtable, which doesn't have code for Portuguese names. ;-) All games of the main handheld series are already using it, except for HGSS, whose article is protected. ポケモンあいこうか 10:53, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Userspace limit
when our servers are stressed to the limit, its pretty important to limit edits to useful and factual stuff. the userspace isnt useful or factual (figuratively speaking). no one wants to hear complaining, so shut-up. -- MAGNEDETH 19:15, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- I got used to the fact that some of the people can't stand constructive criticism. I'm not just "complaining". What's happening on Bulbagarden recently is more than saddening. When all this Rocket nosense ended, I thought that Bulbapedia would finally be back to normal. But it isn't. Okay, I agree on the fact that editing the userspace too much is unneccessary and harmful for the servers. But it's really no big harm when somebody edits his page twice or something. What you're doing is simply being a control freak. WHY SO SERIOUS, man? Also, do talkpages count? Okie... I guess that it'd be too harmful for the servers if you answered me. So, just ignore this message and go ahead protecting Bulbapedia's holy policies. You're an hero. And I just had to speak my mind... Just don't take that too personally, please. I'm simply sick of certain things (not just Bulbapedia-related ones, there's the world beyond). --Maxim 19:40, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- for the record, i left the message here, dont split the conversation on two pages, its very annoying.
- anyway, i think a giant "you dont understand" fits in here quite nicely. i cant speak on behalf of the forums (not my area), but here on BP its all about work, facts, and knowledge. editing the userspace is something we could take away entirely. it isnt essential to the wiki, but we let people edit it because in small doses it doesnt hurt too much; it is a privilege. however, when people abuse this privilege, we have to step in and tell them to stop. you say we are control freaks, i say you dont understand. so i will take your advice and ignore you so i can keep protecting the policies, because thats my job. i dont take your comment personally, its just a mini-vent, i can tell, but BP isnt a blog, so try not to do it often. also, im not "an hero" because as you can tell by this reply, im very much still alive. -- MAGNEDETH 20:08, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- The only thing that I don't understand is why do you want me to reply on my own talkpage. Most Pedias usually prefer when the user answers on the other user's page. It's simply more comfortable, as the user gets notified, hence he doesn't have to look on everyone's talkpage and remember every user that he's left a message to. Also, some people answer after such a long time (several months, or even a year) that's it's really impossible to always remember it. Because of that, discussions often die and the issues stay unsettled. It's simply BETTER when an user replies on the other user's talkpage, instead of his own. It's actually an official POLICY on Wikipedia. I think it should be a policy here as well. I don't see what's wrong in "splitting the discussion into two parts". Is it more exhausting for serves? I doubt it... --Maxim 20:21, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- i didnt say it was exhausting to the servers at all. its just annoying and its been a rule here for a long time, and youre the only person thats complained about it. its very annoying to straddle two talk pages to read one conversation. leaving a comment on one person's page is pretty much the same as leaving a comment on any single talk page of any single article. yea you dont get the notification, but just the same, you should keep track of where youve been. we are not "other wikis" nor are we Wikipedia. -- MAGNEDETH 20:27, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Kimono Girl
There is a girl who addresses them as "sisters". She does so after you beat them, when she rushes in to tell them that Lugia/Ho-oh has been spotted. So unless there's another reason they'd be addressed that way, I think the trivia should stay. --AndyPKMN 20:32, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Finally I can tell you this small sad news...
Now that I am allowed to edit, I can tell you bad news...though I think you would have found it out already. I've searched for the Korean name of Cape Brink in the manga, but in the box, it literally says "Kimberly's Home". Something like that. Since Korean versions of Fire Red and Leaf Green don't even exist (or no?), I suppose the location won't have any other name. Sorry that I couldn't be of help, after all this time. (I've been lazy, sorry). Rhm2768 08:30, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
In case of Special, up to Volume 35 have been released. In case of other manga like Pokémon DPA, I can't be sure. You're talking about the series that has Hareta as the main character, right? - 2. True enough, but the Japanese were heavily influenced by the Chinese.
- 3. Learn Chinese.

- 1. Kanji sounds almost like Chinese.
- 2. Say: Shuugou (no macro), Chuuho, Cheihe, Jihe. Proof enough? (Etyomology is confusing but... "r's" and "l's" are an example.)
- 3. It's the "Q" that is the "ch" sound, not "J". "J" is still... "J".
- 4. You don't get the point. The heads have gathered to make a Pokemon (no accented e, either).
- 5. Have a joke.

- 1. It no longer does. Most Chinese loanwords in Japanese now sound nothing like Chinese. The languages evolve. Japanese has evolved greatly since Middle Ages and so did Chinese. While it's true that on-yomi reading of Kanji evolved from Chinese, they really drifted apart from each other by those years. Also, modern Chinese no longer sounds like Middle Chinese (especially Mandarin, which is one of the most peculiarly evolved dialects. Cantonese or Min-Nan are way more conservative). - YOU WIN
- 2. Jirachi.
- 3. I SPRAKKING MANDARIN. LEARN IT. Q = CH. J = J. Ben dan pang zhu. (Plus, I got confirmation by 6 Chinese people.)
- 4. Try... Farfetch'd. Farfetch'd is far-fetched, too.
- 5. You do.

umm, i don't know yet how to make tables... anyway, the only Pokémon manga published in Indonesia is the one directed by Anakubo Kosaku. Here are the names I know so far:
Ash = Ali, Gary = Geri, Blue = Blue, Pikachu = Pikachu, Clefairy = Kleferi, Tyrogue = Balki
places' names are the same as the English series..but the manga itself is translated badly; most of the translations are incomprehensible. well, what else would 'ya like to know? Milkgila 16:09, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

Not sure about Hong Kong, but I did see the logo for Best Wishes in Cantonese somewhere on the Internet. The title is the same as the Taiwanese (超級願望, literally Super Wish), since they are dubbed by the same company. Hong Kong is still somewhere around DP030. The site doesn't mention when the airdate is. But from what I heard, BW should air sometime in January of 2011 at 中華電信 MOD (Chunghwa Telecom Multimedia on Demand), which I unfortunately don't have. 神智の超龍「對話」 13:09, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Official website
Here. Actually, this is the website of the manga distributor in mainland China. I got the name 亚希达 from the announcement in here. (It also mentions the name change of Pokémon from 神奇宝贝 to 精灵宝可梦 Jīnglíng Bǎokěmèng.) 神智の超龍「對話」 15:33, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- The fans didn't like the change either. Let's just say some thinks of it as the love child of (寵物)小精靈, 神奇宝贝 and
机器猫哆啦A梦. Also, volume 30 will be released sometime around February (Taiwan isn't even finished with the DP chapter yet). And, no, I do not have any access to it. I just hope they would be consistent with the Taiwanese names. 神智の超龍「對話」 16:04, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- Can't really tell. The words beside the logo are too blurry. It could be fake. Mainland fans seems to prefer calling Pokémon 宠物小精灵 (besides 口袋妖怪) for some reason. Also, the Cantonese version looked like this and this (Volume 10 & 12, couldn't find volume 1). Lastly, I did find this seemingly official cover for Vol 30, although this is the actual cover. 神智の超龍「對話」 17:29, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- On an unrelated note, can you also add Platina's Korean name. 神智の超龍「對話」 17:33, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- Umm..., never mind then. Also I forgot to mention that these links (www.精灵宝可梦.com and www.精灵宝可梦.net) redirect to the official English Pokémon website. They could be planning something. 神智の超龍「對話」 08:12, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
- About the cover you showed me, it's from mainland China. The logo matches the one here. I also did some research and found that Pokémon was officially known as 宠物小精灵 in mainland. The official name change to 神奇宝贝 was when CCTV re-dubbed the anime and JiLin re-published the manga around 2000 (I was not a fan during that time). On an unrelated note, do you happen to know Charon's Korean name? 神智の超龍「對話」 12:16, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
BW anime
Taiwan has just aired 4 BW episodes in MOD (It's a pay per view service, so a lot of people didn't get to see the premiere). I already added the names of most of the Pokémon that debuted in those episode (except for Alomomola and Swanna, not sure if it was mentioned). Panpour's name (冷水猴 Lěngshuǐhóu) was from the BW005 trailer. For Pansear, the subtitles reads 炎爆猴 Yánbàohóu, but the narrator read it as "爆香猴" Bàoxiānghóu, so we'll just wait for more confirmation on it. P.S. Already added Kanoko Town (鹿子鎮, it was obvious). I didn't really forget to add it (Just wanted to make sure). --神智の超龍「對話」 17:57, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

- Hey Maxim, just letting you know that the official website has updated again with more Korean names for Fraxure, Hatooboo, Watchog, Deerling (Apparently, names for Sandile, Swanna, Drilbur haven't been revealed) and stuff about Team Plasma. (As expected, N gets to keeps his name). I would add them myself, but I can't copy-paste it (or type Korean). On an unrelated note, BW is set to premiere in Hong Kong on March 20. (Unfortunately, they won't be able to finish DP). --神智の超龍「對話」 10:41, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Chinese names
Of course not, they recently just aired two episodes (2 episodes every two weeks), and I was about to add them now. Mainland redub
Did you hear about the DP series being aired in mainland China? 神電の超龍「對話」 17:06, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- The BW-styled logo? I've seen it too. Two episodes had already aired in CCTV6 last July 3. There's a cast list here (seems like Dynamic Media would be the one dubbing it again). Swampert was able to provide some interesting tidbits about the redub here, such as how transliterated names are pronounced (eg. 宝可梦 as Pokémon, instead of Bǎokěmèng). No word yet on the sudden change of name, but I'm starting to feel that its due to the desire of the Japanese officials to have all international names sound similar to Pokémon. (Taiwan and Hong Kong would probably be next). --神電の超龍「對話」 18:06, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- I just watched the dub. Aside from the character's voice, the pronunciation was a bit off. The pronunciation of every transliterated name sounded really awkward. The dub was re-translated from Japanese, but the names are kept (except the ones Swampert mentioned and 精灵球). Also, the dubbing company referred to Dialga and Palkia as 迪亚鲁卡 and 帕鲁奇亚 (Hope this is a mistake). For some updates in Taiwan, there will be four more episodes to be released on 7/29, which means more Chinese names will be revealed due to the new ending. Also, when BW would be broadcasted in YoYoTV, this would be the new opening. It was mentioned in their Facebook page. --神電の超龍「對話」 18:45, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Pokémon Communication Center
Sorry for only discussing this now. Anyway, you reverted my edit that hid the reference to the PokéCom Center theme from the Ruby and Sapphire beta article, claiming that the PokéCom Center in Crystal plays a different theme. Well, it might play it but if it does, it's not under regular gameplay. And I have a video to prove it (it's not hosted on YouTube and please notify me after you watched so I can remove it from my Dropbox, if you don't mind). In comparison, I'll leave two MP3s of a soundrip from Crystal I have:
— Pokémon Center theme;
— The PokéCom Center theme?
Please evaluate this. I'm curious as to if connecting the game to the Mobile Adapter would trigger this theme on the PokéCom Center but, unfortunately, I cannot verify that. SatoMew 13:13, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

- In what way did I belittle the staff? What I did is say that we have an unwritten policy of denying often obvious things (I unofficially call it "Bulbadenial", but no matter what you call it, it just exists), which I don't quite agree with (but follow it nonetheless). Also, as a long-time member (way older than most of the current staff) I'd expect some respect from others as well. For example, I find deleting my (polite) comments rather offensive. --Maxim (talk) 22:21, 12 June 2012
- You belittled Jo by saying she should "believe in what she says" which is fairly cocky for someone who sees "waiting for confirmation" as "denial".
- Also, I don't care how long you've been here. You don't magically get respect by existing, you earn it. Something you have failed to do, and if you would bother to read people's comments (and the rules), perhaps you would have the respect you think you deserve. You've been here a lot longer than I have, and yet I managed to work my way up to the EiC position while you have a landslide objection for staff nomination. Use those words of yours to tell me how that is respect, and do it on this page because as you damn well know, the rules state to keep conversations in one place, regardless of how much you hate that rule. -- MAGNEDETH 23:16, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Team trainer classes vs. names
Hey there! I saw your dispute awhile back with FinnishPokeFan95 about Gladion and the Team Skull Grunts' Trainer classes, and I think you're the one in the right, so I've been hounding them about it on their talk page and they appear to be refusing to respond to me. Since they won't discuss the matter, I would like to Be Bold and correct not only that page but also all the other ones that this misconception may apply to. FinnishPokeFan95 mentioned Plasma and Flare, but since you seem to know more about the back end of things than I do, I was wondering if you know more about it or know of some resource on the Web that I can comb through myself that shows the difference between Trainer class and name for any/all of the games? Thanks! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 17:21, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- I don't log in as often as I used to. I'm too old for arguing about such stuff, I guess. I guess FinnishPokeFan was referring to the fact that the articles about "Team Flare" and "Team Plasma" Trainer classes refer only to non-Grunt/Admin characters that use such class because Bulbapedia has that convention of considering Grunts/Admins as separate Trainer class (even if it's not the case in the games, it's still "Team X" class + the name "Grunt") and while I'm not questioning that convention or asking to change it, I think that we shouldn't state things like "This class refers only to Gladion" because it's simply incorrect in the context of the games. With other classes (such like Flare or Plasma) there is no such problem because they refer to multiple individuals. So, we are facing a situation where Bulbapedia conventions create clash with the in-game reality. And I believe that the latter should be more important - we're a Wiki about Pokemon, not a Wiki about itself. What I propose is adding the words "except for the grunts", which do not break Bulbapedia conventions, yet remain in accordance with the in-game reality. They're a good compromise (in my opinion) but that guy doesn't want to accept it. --Maxim (talk) 15:26, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

Blue/Green
So basically in the first italian translation of early 2000's, they chose to leave the japanese names for these 2 characters (Green was the boy, Blue was the girl). Few years ago a company named J-Pop started to translate the Adventures saga from the beginning and, this time, they kept Blue (Blu) for the boy and Green (Verde) for the girl.Orion919303 (talk) 18:43, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
- Good to know this, thanks for the info. So, what was Red's name, then? Was it Red or Rosso? Translations for both versions (original and new) should be noted. --Maxim (talk) 19:20, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
- I will deal with these kind of info personally here on Bulba, I've already started doing it. So far, J-Pop has translated the first three chapters, while the fourth one will be released at the end of this fall. Orion919303 (talk) 19:32, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll try not to get in your way with edits, although I'll be adding names from different languages as well (the problem is, I can only base on the language's respective Wikis, as I don't have any access to those translations personally). I assume that Pokemon Central Wiki is accurate when it comes to Italian names? --Maxim (talk) 19:50, 23 September 2018 (UTC)

- We are accurate when it comes to official names and we are currently working on the new translations. Concerning the names which has not been translated yet, we will keep the english ones until the Italian release. You can also find out that some of the nicknames have not been translated (ex: Gyara is Gyarados di Rosso, a.k.a. "Red's Gyarados"): should I add Gyarados di Rosso in the Names section or should I leave that without it? I will also add round's names here on Bulba (they are the "VS <Pokémon>" ones, except for the tenth chapter), trying to follow your standards.Orion919303 (talk) 23:04, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
Removing Chuang Yi names
Why are you removing the Chuang Yi names of Pokémon Adventures characters from the Adventures round pages? There could always be people who are more familiar with those names than the Viz ones. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:24, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- I got a permission from Bulbapedia's manga head. Yeah, I know some people may still remember CY names better - but that's what links are for. If someone is confused, they can click on the link and see which character/Pokemon is which. I'm not removing these names from the entirety of Bulbapedia - they're still on the character's respective pages and langtables, where they belong. But as those names are long obsolete (current Singaporean translation by SA sticks to Viz's naming), I don't see a reason to list them on every occasion. That just makes things look more cluttered and disorganized. Face it, at this point of history, CY names are trivia material at best. --Maxim (talk) 12:38, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- Okay. Go ahead then. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:42, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

It is not at all okay to insult people's intelligence with caricatures like "hurr speculation durr unconfirmed". It's also not really constructive to make sarcastic and very exaggerated suggestions like you want "a separate article for the Kotobukiya figure".

- You clearly have a problem understanding what the "Errors" section in episode articles is about. It is not there to assess the writing, whether it was good or bad, logical or illogical, "made sense" or not. It is for objective mistakes such as animation coloring errors or dub errors like move misnamings. - You try to apply real-world logic to an anime where characters have been shown to survive deadly hits, leap through tremendous distances or carry stuff that no human would be able to lift and just hurl it with little to no effort. No matter how it looks, it is still cartoony violence. Whether it leads to death or just minor bruising that heals in the next scene is fully up to the animators. Talking about "attempted murder" is a big overstatement. --Maxim (talk) 13:00, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

Your CC questions
Sorry I never got back to you on this until now, but since we last spoke, I was able to get access to the Google Play closed captions for S01 (with the help of Abcboy), which are identical in format to the Prime Video CCs for later seasons. Here are the answers to your questions for EP042 and EP043:
- Yes, the three boys in EP042 have English names! However, the order is different from what you provided ("BILLY/BOBBY/BARRY" instead of Billy, Barry and Bobby) and unfortunately, it isn't made clear which is which, since their names only appear in lines that all three speak at one.
- No, Melvin's assistant in EP043 is simply referred to as "woman #1".
I skimmed through the CCs for most of the other episodes in that season, and it seems like most characters without a proper name (if they're identified at all) are simply referred to as "man" or "woman" plus a number. Just out of curiosity (and you don't have to share if you don't want to), are any of the unnamed "bit" characters in season one given more descriptive titles in your source?
