Disputatio Categoriae:Imperatores
Hmmm...credo categoriam hanc auxiliaturam esse. Opus det dirigendo regum romanorum. Possumus Categoria:Reges uti pro regibus regnorum aliorum. Labor sit nobis in imperatores romanos inviendo, at labor alicubi est! =] Quid putas?--Ioshus Rocchio 01:34, 2 Iunii 2006 (UTC)
- I am not sure that I understand what you wrote here.
- The sole reason why I proposed this category for deletion is that it was empty. If we decide to fill this category (i. e. seperate emperors from kings and move the emperors here from Categoria:Reges), that is fine for me.
- Perhaps we should find a common supercategory for Categoria:Reges and Categoria:Imperatores (and possibly also Categoria:Praesidentes): [[Categoria:Heads of State]]? Or Categoria:Viri publici? Currently, the Heads of States that are a republic are intermingled with all the other politicians in Categoria:Viri publici.
- (One day, we should do a thorough check our category hierarchy …)
- What do you think on the king/emperor/Head of State issue? Greetings, --UV 21:50, 2 Iunii 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, that's what I'm suggesting, exactly. Seperate emperors from kings. Maybe the parent category could be Categoria:Duces. Dux is the generic word I've always encountered for leader, of any sort.--Ioshus Rocchio 22:26, 3 Iunii 2006 (UTC)
- Good! Should Categoria:Duces go in Categoria:Viri publici? (Are emperors politicians? Or does “vir publicus” rather mean “statesman”, which would be ok then?)
- Starting to move emperors to Categoria:Imperatores. Greetings, --UV 22:50, 3 Iunii 2006 (UTC)
- Done, added interlanguage links and made some other improvements. Greetings, --UV 00:31, 4 Iunii 2006 (UTC)
- Awesome, great job, man!--Ioshus Rocchio 01:01, 4 Iunii 2006 (UTC)
Bravo! Very well done, UV. --Alexis Hellmer 01:38, 4 Iunii 2006 (UTC)
Where should "praesidentes" go? "duces" and/or "viri publici"? --Roland2 20:08, 4 Iunii 2006 (UTC)
- I would say anyone who leads is a dux, from emperor to mayor. Anyone who is elected or appointed, ie does not assume power by birthright (with the exception of george bush, possibly =]), is a politician and should be vir publicus. Therefore I would say presidents should both be duces and viri publici, except for george, for whom we may want to start Catgoria:Stultuli =].
- ok! Within the category Categoria:Duces, we should in my view further distinguish heads of States (emperors, kings, presidents) and heads of government (prime ministers irrespective of their actual title, e. g. praesidens consilii ministrorum). How could we call these two categories? Perhaps Categoria:Duces civitatum and Categoria:Gubernatores civitatum (both within Categoria:Duces)? Greetings, --UV 23:45, 4 Iunii 2006 (UTC)
I agree with the need for further division. Your proposal sounds about right to me, and yes within the parent category Categoria:Duces.--Ioshus Rocchio 02:17, 5 Iunii 2006 (UTC)
For simplicity, I ended up putting all those categories and persons under Categoria:Viri publici. Feel free to change anything you dislike. Greetings, --UV 00:39, 7 Iunii 2006 (UTC)
