In this paper, we focus on these criteria and propose the use of decision tables as alternative business logic visualization formalism, used for business rule representation, which leads building a model of business logic and implementing it using software configuration parameters stored in the database and automatically generated methods of business objects implemented into the classes of business logic tier of n-Tier architecture.

Business processes are running according to the business rules. However business processes are changing rapidly and especially because of changes in business logics and sequentially changes in rules system. To implement such change's into the business system, all software systems of information system (IS), which are supporting business, should be readjusted to be in alignment with business. Separation and centralisation of business logics represented by business roles from the code of software system of IS is one of the ways to solve the problem. The paper analyses problems and available solutions of integration tasks to allow ER-P system the collaboration with other software systems of IS. The main contribution of the paper is a business rule m...

This leads the software systems growing and going more complex, widely distributed and being pressed by business for continual changes at the same time. This result the need of new methods and methodologies used for modern software development. One of such relatively new additions in the field of traditional software development is business rules and model transformation driven approach. The paper discusses existing business information systems engineering issues arising out of such additions based on running researches in the field also carried out by the authors.

That is the main reason why automated decisions based on such rules cannot take responsibility and requires involvement or approval of dedicated business people. This limits decision automation possibilities in information systems. However, business rules describe business policy and represent business logics. This can be used in intelligent information systems, together with risk assessment model to simulate real business environment and evaluate possible impact of automated decisions, to support intelligent decision automation. The chapter proposes risk and business rule model integration to provide full intelligent decision automation model used for business rule enforcement and implementation into intelligent software systems of information systems. Due to dynamics of its nature, business environment is changing frequently according to internal and external influences such as changes in law, new competition etc. Business requires immediate and adequate reaction to the changes and immediate data analysis for decision support. Through available traditional design methods have business rules incorporated directly into the system requirements and software code later on and made inaccessible. The relation of business rules to the implemented functionality in the software is lost too. That makes very difficult immediate modification of complex systems and rarely is limited by adding new functionality on the top of existing system making new system more complex. In this paper we discuss a possibility to take business rules out of the software system code and propose a method based on framework to transform them dynamically into final software system artifacts or system requirements at the same time tracking relations between them, through the entire business rule based information system design process
