David Austin Roses on Instagram: "Watch our informative video where one of our rose experts demonstrates the art of training and pruning a repeat-flowering climbing rose! When pruning climbers, focus on two key aspects: first, select and nurture strong growth from the plant’s base. Second, train stems to fan out, positioning them nearly horizontal to encourage new shoots along the stem. This method ensures healthy and vigorous growth. If your climbing rose is in its first year, it’s still in the crucial stage of root establishment, essential for robust growth. Therefore, only minimal pruning is recommended. Carly 👩🏻‍🌾 on Instagram: "If you want to keep your geraniums blooming all summer long, remove spent flowers.

The most common mistake people make when deadheading geraniums is snipping of the flower and not removing the whole stalk with the flower.

The flower stem comes off easily by simply snapping it off with your fingers, or using pruning shears like I show in the video.

By removing spent blooms, the plant puts energy into producing more flowers. This will keep your planter looking fresh all summer long.
