The purpose of this study is to adapt Diversity Perspectives Questionnaire (DPQ) developed by Pod... more The purpose of this study is to adapt Diversity Perspectives Questionnaire (DPQ) developed by Podsiadlowski, Groschke, Kogler, Springer, and van der Zee (2013) to Turkish. With this purpose, items were translated from English to Turkish first, from Turkish to English next. The consistency between original form and back-translation form was evaluated, then a pilot study was achieved with 18 teachers, and the final version of the scale was created in the light of the feedbacks. Data were gathered from 293 teachers via final version of the scale. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) results showed acceptable fit indices and five-factored model was confirmed. Besides, the internal consistency coefficients of the subscales were acceptable. Validity and reliability results showed that the Turkish version of DPQ has acceptable psychometric properties.

The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable instrument to determine the level of sch... more The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable instrument to determine the level of school administrators' diversity leadership based on teachers' perceptions. For this purpose, an item pool was created which includes 68 questions based on the literature, and data were obtained from 343 teachers. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was applied first, and later confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was applied for the construct validity. According to EFA results, a scale composed of three sub-dimensions (diversity inclusion and integration, equity, respect for diversity) that explained 67.3% of total variance and 37 items was achieved. Item-total correlations ranged from 0.488 to 0.771, and factor loadings ranged from 0.540 to 0.748. CFA results confirmed a three-factored construct (X2/df=2.36, RMSEA=0.063, SRMR=0.036, NNFI=0.99, CFI=0.99, GFI=0.81). The validity and reliability studies of the scale were conducted with 274 (124 female, 150 male) students. In the development study, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was applied and the Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient calculated. At the end of the study, a scale consisting of 21 items was obtained. The results of the exploratory factor analysis showed that the scale consisted of three sub-dimensions; physical characteristics, individual psychological traits, and sociocultural features. PurposeThis study aimed to investigate the relationship between teachers' perceptions on dive... more PurposeThis study aimed to investigate the relationship between teachers' perceptions on diversity perspectives in schools and their happiness at work (HAW) levels.Design/methodology/approachA correlational survey model was used in the study, and the stratified sample consisted of 768 teachers in public high schools in a province in the west of Turkey.FindingsThe result of hierarchical regression analysis showed that integration-and-learning, colour blindness and fairness diversity perspectives significantly predicted HAW. However, reinforcing homogeneity and access perspectives did not predict HAW. While positive affect, one of the dimensions of HAW, was predicted by integration-and-learning, colour blindness and fairness perspectives, negative affect was predicted by integration-and-learning and colour blindness perspectives. Çalışmanın katılımcılarını 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılında Kocaeli üniversitesine kayıt yaptıran 134 uluslararası öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veriler Web Sitesi Tutum Ölçeği ve Örgütsel Çekicilik Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Veriler Pearson momentler çarpımı korelasyon analizi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Sonuçlar uluslararası öğrencilerin web sitesine yönelik tutumları ile üniversitenin çekiciliği arasında olumlu bir ilişki olduğunu göstermiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına dayalı olarak bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
