The purpose of this exploratory study was to determine whether projective techniques could identify long-term consequences among children stemming from exposure to a traumatic event. The first group of children (n = 53; 26 female, 27 male) experienced 2 major earthquakes at age 7, 3 months apart, in Turkey, while a similarly matched control group (n = 50; 25 female, 25 male) did not. Both groups of children (current age: 9) completed a series of short stories related to disastrous events. Results indicated that the traumatized group evinced a range of trauma-related symptoms 2 years after experiencing the earthquakes.

ÖZET Eğitim, çağın koşullarına uyum sağlamak için çeşitli bilgi ve becerilerle donanmış, iyi ve nitelikli bir nesiller yetiştirme gibi genel amaçlarının yanında, sevgi, işbirliği, güven, hoşgörü, anlayış, saygı, dürüstlük gibi değerleri kazandırma görevini de barındıran geniş bir yelpazeye sahiptir. Sınıf ortamında verilecek değerler eğitimi ile toplumu oluşturan bireylere, nelerin önemli ve tercih edilebilir olduğu ve nasıl yaşanılması gerektiğinin belirtilmesi toplumsal düzenin, kültürün devamı açısından oldukça önemlidir. Öğrenciler, eğitim sayesinde doğru ve yanlışı seçmeyi öğrenmekte, buna bağlı olarak da ne kadar nitelikli eğitim alırlarsa da doğru seçimler yapmayı başarabilecek duruma gelmektedirler. Öğrencilerin tutumlarını, inançlarını, önceliklerini ve davranışlarının ölçütlerini belirlemelerinde benimsedikleri değerlerin etkisi oldukça büyüktür. Sınıf yönetimi ise özellikle kuralları oluşturma boyutunda, öğrencilerin sınıf iklimi içerisinde temel, evrensel değerleri kazanması ve kendi değerlerini ortaya çıkarma fırsatı sunması, ayrıca öğrenme için zemin oluşması açısından önemlidir. Bu yönden öğretmenlere, öğrencilerine sınıf içi kuralları kazandırmayı planladıkları ilk andan itibaren kurallar ile değerler arasındaki ilişkiyi perçinleyebilecekleri, uygulanabilir modeller sunmak gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada genel hatlarıyla, eğitim sistemimizde ve değerler eğitiminde benimsenen yaklaşım ve yöntemler, çağdaş sınıf içi disiplin modelleri ve öğretmenin rolü üzerinde durulmaktadır. Bu yaklaşım, yöntem ve modellerden hareketle, öğrencilerin davranışlarındaki ölçütlerin belirlenmesi ve değerlerin kazandırılması amacıyla teoriden uygulamaya, öğretmenin hangi tutum ve davranışları benimseyerek öğrencilerini yönlendirebileceğini sunan etkili bir öğretmen modeli önerilmektedir. Özet Bu araştırmada temel eğitimde görev yapan öğretmenlerin yetkinlik algıları incelenmiştir. Ayrıca temel eğitim öğretmenlerinin yetkinlikleri, branş, yaş, kıdem, öğrenim durumu bağımsız değişkenlerine göre incelenmiştir. Araştırmada betimsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini Kocaeli'nin merkez ilçesi İzmit, Gölcük ve Gebze ilçelerinin devlet okullarında görev yapmakta olan toplamda 2613 okul öncesi ve sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, 2016–2017 öğretim yılında Kocaeli'de yer alan bağımsız anaokullarında, anasınıflarında ve ilkokullarında görev yapmakta olan 289 okul öncesi ve sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini belirlemede basit tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Öğretmen yetkinlik düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla ilk kez Tschannen-Moran ve Woolfolk-Hoy (2001) tarafından geliştirilmiş olan, Baloğlu ve Karadağ (2008) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan " Ohio Öğretmen Yetkinlik Ölçeği " kullanılmıştır.Veriler katılımcılardan çevrimiçi toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri SPSS 18 programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada verilerin analizinde, aritmetik ortalama ile standart sapma, " bağımsız örneklem t-testi " , " tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) " , " LSD önemlilik testi " kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda sınıf öğretmenlerinin yetkinlik algılarının, okul öncesi öğretmenlere göre daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır.Ayrıca, temel eğitim öğretmenlerinin sınıf yönetimine yönelik yetkinlik algıları, çeşitli değişkenler açısından farklı özellikler göstermiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: temel eğitim, sınıf yönetimi, öğretmen yetkinliği Abstract This research has studied the teacher semployed at Basic Education according to the irperceptions of their efficacy. In addition, their efficacy of the basic education teachers were examined according to independent variables such as their departments and age, their length of service, educational background. Descriptive survey model was used in this study. The universe of there search consists of 2613 preschool and class-teachers employed at state schools in Izmit, Golcuk and Gebze in the province of Kocaeli. The sample of the research consists of 289 preschool and class teachers employed at independent state nursery schools, nursery classes, and primary schools during 2016-2017 academic year. Simple Random Sampling was conducted to determine the sample of the research. 'Ohio Teacher-Efficacy Scale' was applied to evaluate the efficacy of the teachers. This scale was first improved by Tschannen-Moran and Woolfolk-Hoy (2001) and it was adapted into Turkish by Baloğlu and Karadağ (2008).The data was collected from the participants online. The data of the research was analysed with the SPSS 18 program. In the analysis of the data, ''arithmetic average and standard deviation'', ''independent samplest-test'', ''one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA)'' and ''LSD importance test'' were used. It was found at the end of the research that their perceptions of class teachers efficacy were high erthanpre-school teachers. In addition, the teachers employed at Basic Education according to their perceptions of their efficacy showed different characteristics in terms of various variables.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of family problems experienced by high school students on emotional intelligence and humor. The relationship between emotional intelligence and humor style was examined according to age and gender, and the relationship between the family attitudes was investigated. This research was designed in accordance with the relational screening model of quantitative research methods. The sample of the study was selected from the students attending to schools in Istanbul, in the 2018-2019 academic year. Total of 394 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades students from different types of programs attending the high schools from different provinces of İstanbul  generated the sample (205 girls and 189 boys). ‘The Humor Styles Scale’ and the ‘Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale’ were applied to the students, also with to the ‘Family Problem Assessment Scale’ in the Youth Period. The data obtained from the study were analyzed by a special statistical packet program developed for the researchers in social sciences. According to the findings; it was determined that emotional intellligence and humor styles are correlated. It was found that when emotional intelligence score increased self improving humor style was also increasing. High school students' emotional intelligence differed significantly in favor of female students according to gender variable. As the emotional intelligence scores of the participating students increased, the Self-Developing Humor style scores of the positive humor styles also increased. A positive relationship was found between destructive humor and emotional intelligence. According to the answers given by the students, the situation with the highest mean of family problems is ‘authoritarian parents attitude‘, this result was followed by ‘insensitivity and inconsistency in relations’. The lowest average problem was revealed as, health and social problems. There was no statistically significant linear relationship between emotional intelligence As the family problems of the students decrease, the participant and self-improving humor style scores increase., on the other hand increasing in he family problems had an negative effect on optimism scores of the students. As a consequence, adolescents who are inevitably effected by the changes of their life span were found to perceive their parents as autoritarion and insensible. The research is important in terms of determining the relationship between emotional intelligence and humor styles which are both very crucial in a successful social life and also the data about the effects of familial problems indicates a general view and these results could guide professionals working with adolescents and parents.
