선행적 은혜

선행적 은혜 (Prevenient grace, enabling grace)는 하나님의 은혜가 개인의 결정에 앞선다는 기독교 교리다. 아르미니우스주의에서 채택하여 본격적으로 주장하는 교리이나, 초기 가톨릭신학에서도 나타났다. 이 교리에 의하면, 하나님은 개인의 삶의 어떤 시점에서 자신의 사랑을 보여주기 시작한다. 선행적 은혜는 야코부스 아르미니우스와 존 웨슬리의 신학에 의해 영향을 받은 아르미니우스주의에서 채택되었다. 감리교 등 웨슬리계열의 아르미니우스주의자들은 은혜는 구원을 개인적으로 수용을 할 수 있게 해주지만 불가항력적으로 확정시키는 것은 아니라고 믿는다. 이 지점에서 칼뱅주의의 불가항력적 은혜 개념과 차이가 있다.
