Two Women on a Winding Mission

Jeannie (my lovely knitting buddy) and I broke in my new winder...what a Hoot! We laughed uncontrollably as we set up the winder and swift without written instructions! Once we thought we had the sophisticated equipment ready to go, we proceeded to wind our first skein. The situation then went from pitiful to pathetic, in case you don't believe me just look at our first ball! Jeannie's beautiful Vesper yarn is actually held together with a rubber band..at least we are a creative team!

We were clearly two women on "A Mission" and the day was certainly not a waste. Check out the skeins we wound....and these are just from my stash! Oh yeah, we did rewind Jeannie's Vesper yarn and chucked the rubber band.

First Cardigan

Knitting

My first sweater was a very simple V-neck cardigan using a Knitting Pure & Simple pattern. I used Berroco Ultra Alpaca yarn in off white. The yarn was a dream to knit and the pattern was a wise choice for a beginner....like me! The garment is a tad big on me (actually the sleeves are long enough for a monkey) but so warm and cozy that I simply roll up the sleeves and it really doesn't bother me. Check out the buttons, I looked for them for weeks and think they are to "die for" with the pewter and gold finish!

Meet "TOOTIE"

Tootie was born on 6-9-2007, what a Hoot her birth was! She was actually a week-end project and was knitted in Jaeger, Baby Merino DK...that fiber was so soft and yummy! Tootie loves TV and she loves to travel.

Knitting Bags for the Knitter...Me of Course!

I can't get enough knitting bags. I purchase bags, I knit bags! I love big knitting bags, I love medium knitting bags and I love small knitting bags!

These are a couple of felted bags I knitted for (what else) knitting projects. The red bag is perfect for small and medium size projects and such a "Happy" bag to carry. I designed the pink, black & lime tote, this was my first experience knitting leaves and flowers....and check out the braided handles!

Too Many Purses?

My first cable project was The Chip Bag! I used Lanines Du Nord "Cleo" yarn and have 2 other colors waiting for my needles...does that tell you how much I love this little bag?

My Noni Medium Carpet Bag is knitted with Cascade Heather Shades with medium and small Camellia Flowers. I think the heather shades are so rich when used together and the silk lining really "Rocks"!

Meet My Papillon

Dusty is my 5 year old Papillon. What an independent little guy, he can entertain himself for hours! Dusty is without a doubt the smartest of our three dogs and physically the toughest! His coat is fabulous, it is silky, shiny, long and requires very little maintenance. I simply love him too too much!

Two Italian Greyhounds with New Coats

Aren't they Sweet? Jazz is on the left and is 7 years old and Nicholas is on the right and is 6 years old. They both are major "Lap" dogs and truly are sole mates! Jazz is so needy while Nicholas rules the entire household. On my next posting you will meet our third love, Dusty.

New Blogger

This is my first attempt in creating a Blog. My Blog will mostly be used to share my new found love of knitting! Well......I may include an occasionally story or pic of my much loved Italian Greyhounds (Nicholas and Jazz) and Papillon (Dusty).
