Emily and Mitch Again

I made this layout with some Valentine's paper that I got from Doodlebug even though the kids were making Christmas cookies! Hey, what can I say? I loved the papers! I added some ribbon along the photos for my friend Stacy's challenge. Why don't you head over there and make a layout for her challenge. Adding ribbon (she'd love to see some creativity) is the only requirement!! Anyway, the little camera was a stamp from Imaginisce. I added a jewel where the flash is and a brad in the center with a heart!

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday

I quickly made this card for The Paper Variety's fan fold embellishments.  I used a sketch from one of my friend Stacy's challenges

10 Reasons that Mitchell Makes me Happy

I made this layout using numbers for Scrapbook Circle's and Sweet Peach Crop Shop's number challenges using a sketch I found at My Scraps and More!  It is now hanging on my refrigerator to let my teenager know that I do love him and see the good things about him even though I have "rules" and seem to get on his case from time to time!  I have quite the hodge podge of manufacturer's on this page including American Crafts, Autumn Leaves, Basic Grey, Collage Press, Kaiser, My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon and more!

Thanks for visiting! It makes my day!  Hope you are having a great day!

My Sister, My Friend

Here is my twin sister in various moods at the Heard Museum in Phoenix earlier this summer.  I was really excited this morning when I found this sketch by Sketchy Thursdays and the combined "friend" challenge at Scrapfit!!!! I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get lucky this week! I play these two challenges all of the time and haven't won a prize on either challenge--now, mind you, I have been very lucky all over blog-land winning prizes, and I am not complaining!  I just love the prizes being offered this time! :-)  My friend Stacy wanted tickets on a layout, too. They represent "ticket to fun" to me.  I've won many of Stacy's challenges, so I play for fun (though I still win a lot) there and hope more of you will play along so she can send prizes out to as many different people as possible!!! She's such a gracious and friendly host!  I did a little spritzing on the layout which is hard to see in the photo but looks pretty good in person!  I'd been hoarding the multi-colored clouds for a while as the company who makes them is no longer in business to my understanding.

Thanks so much for visiting! I won't be posting much in the next few days!!!!

Steve and Kelly's Favorites at the San Diego Zoo

Steve loves polar bears, and I love koala bears! Actually, I love polar bears, too! But, I chose these photos because they were some of our favorites at the San Diego Zoo.  I meant to place the photos a little more to the left, but I had already peeled the paper and photos off for another issue... I made the flower with several layers of Sizzix flowers which I then crimped and inked with some turquoise to go along with the paper and butterflies.  The layout is not wonky in real life either... I made this using Frosted Designs lovely sketch!  I'm in a hurry today because for the first time in his life, my hubby locked his keys in the car, and I am going to take them to him and have lunch with him also! So, yay for that!

Thanks for visiting!

Too Busy to Scrap but Here is a Layout from the Zoo

Here are some monkeys we saw at the zoo!  These boys definitely follow the "like Father, like son" motto!  This was a quick one. I just cut out some Basic Grey paper on the Cricut, added a tag with some buttons, some CTMH stamps to the bottom, some ribbon and a brad! Yay, one layout completed!

Thanks for visiting!

Panda at the San Diego Zoo

In keeping with the zoo theme, I decided to make a layout all about the Panda we saw at the San Diego Zoo.  I am entering this in a challenge over at the CK blog to layer at least 3 textures.  I layered the flower with some wedding/netting, felt, foam and a metal/epoxy brad which is layered over ribbon and paper!

Thanks for visiting! Please leave a comment so I know you visited! Thanks and have a great day!

Thank you Teacher

I made this little thank you card for the Crafter's Companion challenge this month.  The little bear Popcorn is so sweet--it is from the School Days set!  I'm glad I saved the little bit from a notebook border punch that I got to use at Archiver's. I'd love to have a notebook border punch, but this will have to do for now!!! Anyway, I added a little Tattered Angels mist droplets on th background. My coloring isn't great, but there is no way to make this bear not cute!!

Thanks for visiting! I should be adding some layouts soon!

Have a great weekend!

Some Spring Cards

I'm entering this into Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Distressing! I didn't add ink to any of the edges except that of the image--just roughed up the edges and sanded that hot pink scalloped piece!

I made these cards from sketches for two different challenges that my friend Stacy HW is hosting on Sketches 4 All.  You can find them here and here!  I'm sure she would love it if you would play along!

Sweethearts

This is Steve and me from ????  The date wasn't on the back of the photo, but I know it is at least several years old.  This fits The Paper Variety's challenge this week.  It also meets Really Reasonable Ribbon's Challenge #17 - Pink, Red, White theme and Simon Says Stamp's Love challenge.

Opening Mitchell's Snowman -- 2009 Christmas

My son made this snowman for his Grandma Massman for Christmas last year! I scraplifted Leanne from Artful Delight for Sketches 4 All.  I also misted on the paper and included a sequin for Christy's bling challenge.  The paper is CTMH.  The ribbon is Crate Paper, but it was made to match (it seems)! I made my own shimmery mist and used some punched snowflakes for the masks!  I'm entering this into Really Reasonable Ribbon's Challenge #15 is a 'Something New Plus Ribbon' Theme.  The new is the Crate Paper snowflake which I've made into a brad with Stampin' Up brad maker.  Also, the hand-made shimmery is new as well as the Crate Paper ribbon (well, it's new to me anyway)!  Thanks for the fun challenge!

January 2010 - Shoveling Snow

I made this layout based on an Artful Delight sketch.  I'm also entering it in the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.  It was the boys (my husband Steve and son Mitch) shoveling snow last January.  I tell you, she sold out of her beautiful December kit! It was really pretty. You might want to check out her January kit as soon as it goes live! If it's half as pretty as the December kit and you are a kit buyer, you'll love it!  I've used Harmonie here with some punched snowflakes and the letters are from My Mind's Eye.  Thanks for looking!

Merry Christmas!

Canvas Flower

Here is a canvas flower I made with my Sizzix.  I added some ink and Rock Candy Stickles on the large flower and some chalk ink on the smaller flower.  Then, I attached it with an American Crafts brad. I thought it turned out pretty cute for my first one!

Finally, a Layout - Stuart with Tractor -- Christmas 2009

I made this using a sketch from Frosted Designs for The Paper Variety's challenge to create a project about a child!

I put some liquid applique on Santa's beard, etc. "Joy to the World" is embossed in white. And, crystal stickles are on the snowflakes (but that is hard to see)!

I used My Mind's Eye papers on this!

Halloween - 1968

I have no idea what costume my twin sister and I wore this year for Halloween, but I can sure see that we loved eating the candy!  I used a lot of vendors on this layout:  the majority of the papers are from Basic Grey. The photo corners were made from a sheet to which I had previously sprayed Krylon webbing paint. It makes such a cool effect--perfect for Halloween!  I did this layout for Sketches 4 All. They have a fantastic contest going on right now! There are lots of prizes to be won!

South Haven, Michigan

I used Sketchy Thursday's sketch this week to create this layout! I'm entering it in The Studio to DIY (the pinwheel) and Stacy's weekly challenge over at Sketches for You.  By the way, I'm thrilled to be the guest designer over at Sketches for You for September. I'll be issuing a challenge with a small RAK over there.  I hope you will join me.  I'll post about it here on the blog, too!  I was lucky enough to win some SRM Stickers which is what you see right under the photo!

Black and White Birthday Card

For this challenge, I was to use the scraps from Workout 26 or 27 on Scrapfit! The only thing I didn't use on my layout was the brad in the middle of the flower.  I used the ribbon's back for the layout! In the card, I used the front (polka dot) which I really think is cute!

Gingerbread Christmas Card

I made this little Christmas card for The Paper Variety's Christmas card challenge! The background is Little Yellow Bicycle! The sentiment and snowflake are from SRM Stickers. I put a little copper Stickles to resemble festive sugar around the white Spellbinder shapes!
