"New Year and Christmas Men" meet, their assistants cut out of cardboard the letters from
the guest's name and the host's name in honour of this event. Then the hung the letters
above the main entrance. One night, when everyone went to bed, someone took all the
letters of our characters' names. Then he may have shuffled the letters and put them in one
pile in front of the door. The next morning it was impossible to find the culprit who had
made the disorder. But everybody wondered whether it is possible to restore the names of
the host and his guests from the letters lying at the door? That is, we need to verify that
there are no extra letters, and that nobody will need to cut more letters.Help the "New
Year and Christmas Men" and their friends to cope with this problem. You are given both

Face detection is the process of identifying one or more human faces in images or videos. It plays an important part in many biometric, security and surveillance systems, as well as image and video indexing systems. There are different types of algorithms used in face detection. Here, we have used Viola-Jones algorithm for face detection using MATLAB program. This include detection of not only face but also eyes and upper body. In order to detect above things we use different commands in it. While initially a form of computer application, it has seen wider uses in recent times on mobile platforms and in other forms of technology, such as robotics. It is typically used as access control in security systems and can be compared to other biometrics and face and eyes recognition systems. Although the accuracy of facial recognition system as a biometric technology is lower than iris recognition and fingerprint recognition, it is widely adopted due to its contactless and non-invasive process.

This project is to regulate the speed of the motor below the base speed. Conventionally armature ... more This project is to regulate the speed of the motor below the base speed. Conventionally armature control method is used with rheostat, but using rheostat causes more losses. So, to regulate the armature voltage the chopper is used instead of the rheostat. The dc machine is separately excited through field winding. The chopper circuit gets signals from the controller and then supplying variable voltage to the armature of motor the desired speed is obtained in the motor. Chopper converts from dc fixed voltage to variable voltage; it can be step up or step down. In an open loop system the output speed may be erroneous; practically the speed of the motor might slightly be less at a predetermined voltage. To rectify this issue, closed loop method is preferred. The error signal is determined from the difference of the actual speed and desired speed. Here PI controller is used, as the proportional term does the job of fast correction and the integral term takes finite time to act and makes the steady state error zero, delay can be removed. In treadmill machine, railway engines (traction), E-bikes, e-bicycles, e-scooters, portable sewing machine, drill machine etc, in which speed control of motor through chopper is practically used. The simulation is done in MATLAB under varying load condition, varying reference speed condition and varying input voltage.

It can be used to detect aircraft, ships, spacecraft, guided missiles, motor vehicles, weather formations, and terrain. The radar dish or antenna transmits pulses of radio waves or micro waves which bounce off any object in their path. The object returns a tiny part of the wave's energy to a dish or antenna which is usually located at the same site as the transmitter.
The modern uses of radar are highly diverse, including air traffic control, radar astronomy, air-defense systems, antimissile systems ;marine radar start locate landmarks and other ships; aircraft anti-collision systems; ocean surveillance systems, outer space surveillance and rendezvous systems; meteorological precipitation monitoring; altimetry and flight control systems; guided missile target locating systems; and ground-penetrating radar for geological observations. High tech radar systems are associated with digital signal processing and are capable of extracting useful information from very high noise levels.
The Arduino based project requires a ultrasonic sensor, the sensor released the waves which we want to measure the distance of a object. The microcontrollers of the Arduino board can be programmed using C and C++ languages. When a code is written in Matlab Software and connected to the board through a USB cable, Arduino boards have lot of applications in the present day scenario, so we have decided to do a small project on them.

leakage c... more This abstract presents a pulse width modulation (PWM) technique for the minimization of
leakage current in the grid connected/ stand-alone transformer-less Photo-Voltaic (PV)
Cascaded Multi-Level Inverter (CMLI). The proposed PWM technique is integrated with MPPT
algorithm and is applied to the five-level CMLI. Further, using the proposed PWM technique
the high frequency voltage transitions in the terminal and common mode voltages are minimized.
Thus, the proposed PWM technique minimizes the leakage current of the PV array and EMI
filter requirement in the system without addition of any extra switches. the analysis for the
terminal voltage across the PV array and common mode voltage of the inverter based on
switching function. Using the given analysis, the effect of PWM technique can be analysed, as
it directly links the switching function with the common mode voltage and leakage current. Also,
the proposed PWM technique requires reduced number of carrier waves compared to the
conventional sinusoidal pulse width modulation technique (SPWM) for the given CMLI.
Complete details of the working principle and analysis with the support of simulation and
experimental results of the proposed PWM technique. The elimination of high frequency voltage
transition results in reduction of leakage current magnitude flowing through the parasitic
capacitance. It may also reduce the requirement or Size of EMI or common mode filters required

Controllers for Power Modulator is built in Control Unit which usually operates at much lower voltage and power levels. In addition to operating Power Modulator as desired, it may also generate commands for the protection of Power Modulator and Motor. Input command signal, which adjusts the operating point of the drive, forms an input to the Control Unit. In this project, “ARDUINO” is used as a control unit to generate PWM signals to control Power Modulator.

circuit connected to Pin 0 of an Arduino Uno. The project then applies three types of
calculations in real-time to determine if the current voltage reading signifies motion.
Using a pre-recorded dataset, the data is further processed in MATLAB to categorize the
motion.

During this process the images are corrupted due to impulse noises. The impulse noise is salt and pepper noise (image having the random black and white dots). The image pixels are getting damaged due to these noises. The noise occurs due to transmission errors, malfunctioning pixel elements in the camera sensors, faulty memory locations, and timing errors in analogue to digital conversion. Image filters produce a new image from an original by operating on the pixel values. Filters are used to suppress noise, enhance contrast, find edges, and locate features. If we want to enhance the quality of images, we can use various filtering techniques which are available in image processing. There are various filters which can remove the noise from images and preserve image details and enhance the quality of image.
The goal is to remove that type of noise in maximum amount by preserving the main image features. One of the filter is Hybrid median filter which is somewhat improved version of median filter, which removes the noise better than median filter and we have some other Filters like 3*3 average filter, median filter etc.

The faults occurring in power systems can be broadly classified into symmetrical faults and unsymmetrical faults, there is yet another classification of fault types namely, shunt type of faults and series type of fault ,in this paper we are analyzing only shunt type of faults, this shunt type of fault involve short circuit between the conductors and or between conductor and ground . They are characterized by increases in current and fall in voltage and frequency in faulted phase . The different kinds of shunt faults are single line to ground fault ,double line to ground fault and three line to ground fault .The study of these faults are necessary to ensure that reliability and stability of the power system. approaches MATLAB software in which user friendly tool box will assist using that transmission line model design and various fault time will be given with the help of signal builder .After that various effects on bus system due to different are shown such as voltage ,current and fault current output in terms of waveforms .By analyzing waveforms we can calculate which fault occurring is maximum and what are the safety measurement that we can include in the power system to overcome this fault.

As noted, detectors of radio signals serve as rectifiers. Divide the AC voltage by the square root of 2 to find the DC voltage. Since an AC power supply sends voltage in alternating waves, DC voltage will be lower once you convert it. Write out the formula VAC/√(2) and replace VAC with the AC voltage you found with your multimeter.

They are rate for 1000’s of megawatts of power.Largest I have seen are Aluminium Smelter Recitifiers. These are beasts that work at 1200–2000Volts and pump from 80 to 90 Kilo Amps of current. (80,000 to 90,000 amps). These are used to electrolytically extract aluminium from alumina (aluminium oxide).Similar high power rectifiers are used to refine copper, refine lead, refine zinc, electroplate steel, extract chlorine, extract caustic soda (NaOH), caustic potash (KOH) etc.3 Phase rectifiers are also used as the input supply of motor drives for high power motors.They are also used in the field excitation in power plants.And many more that I don’t remember at this moment.

Today in many industries (especially in machine tool industry) the use of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) is increasing due to smaller size, less weight & low rotor loss compare to induction motor of same capacity. One of the important characteristics of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor is that they produce constant torque with sinusoidal stator current. The simulation model includes all the required component of the drive system. Due to this the calculation of current and voltages in different parts of the inverter and motor under transient and steady conditions are possible. A closed loop control system in the speed loop has been designed to operate in constant torque and flux weakening regions. The principle of speed control is verified by analyzing the variation in the results of speed & torque.

In this project LM35 sensor plays a crucial role by detecting the temperature. LM35 is an integrated analogy temperature sensor whose electrical output is proportional to Degree Centigrade. LM35 Sensor does not require any external calibration or trimming to provide typical accuracies. LM35 is used to measure precise centigrade temperature. The output of this sensor changes describes the linearity. The output voltages of this sensor are linearly comparative to the Celsius temperature. The output voltage range of this sensor is from -55˚ to +150˚C. The output came from the LM35 sensor is stored in the analogy input of Simulink model which is the output of the Arduino board through Arduino. The Arduino acts as a data transformer.

This particular simulation will give the behaviour and characteristics of motor by using power electronic drives. This particular simulation will also consist of pulse width modulation (PWM) generation. which is the output of our power electronic drives. one of the necessary systems designed to detect the vehicle number plate. In today’s world with the
increasing number of vehicle day by day it’s not possible to manually keep a record of the entire vehicle.
With the development of this system it becomes easy to keep a record and use it whenever required. The
main objective here is to design an efficient automatic vehicle identification system by using vehicle number
plate. The system first would capture the vehicles image as soon as the vehicle reaches the security checking
area. The captured images are then extracted by using the segmentation process. Optical character
recognition is used to identify the characters. The obtained data is then compared with the data stored in
their database. The system is implemented and simulated on MATLAB and performance is tested on real
images. This type of system is widely used in Traffic control areas, tolling, parking area.etc. This system is
mainly designed for the purpose of security system.
However, the detection of the dynamic or moving object is a challenging part. In areas wherever automobile
parking space is taken by a specific vehicle, the incorrectly parked vehicles are recognized. It is noted that
the license plates of the vehicles are found in several forms, size and conjointly they're completely different
in color.
This makes the detection of the number plate of a vehicle, the foremost fascinating and difficult analysis
topic. Number plate detection is useful in finding purloined cars, automobile parking management system
and identification of the vehicle in traffic. The number plate decoded will be used further for identification,

transmission, distribution, utilization. Electrical – power transmission is the bulk
transfer of electrical energy, from generating power plants to electrical substations and
customers, which is typically referred to as electric power distribution. Transmission
lines, when interconnected with each other, become transmission networks. The
combined transmission and distribution network is known as the “National Grid”. Most
transmission lines are high voltage three phase alternating current, although single
phase AC is sometimes used in railway electrification systems. There are two types of
transmission lines they are DC transmission line and AC transmission lines. Long back
ago we were used DC transmission, Now the present world using AC transmission lines.
In both DC and AC transmission line, AC transmission line calculations are very tough
and very important than DC transmission line. In analysis of transmission the
important one is to find out efficiency and regulation. It is some difficult to make
calculation with hand it takes long period of time. To reduce time, this efficiency and
regulation gone on programming using MATLAB software, user interface is very easier
to use.
Through this analysis of transmission line programming using MATLAB user can
