Slow Sunday Stitching

Last week was another busy week.  Sunday I went with daughter Katie and two of her coworkers to see the movie Wicked which I enjoyed quite a bit.

I finally finished up the Christmas decorations, and got the Christmas village all lit up.

I also finished up the Christmas baking, and assembled my gift boxes and tins for my friends and family.

This week I also made some Christmas gifts.  I made some free standing lace ornaments that I thought I had taken a picture of, but they are missing.  I also made two gnomes.   I found the pattern here at Sew She Can.

I had quite the issue with computers this week.  Last week when I was trying to visit blogs for Slow Sunday Stitching, my computer locked up.  I logged on, and then the screen locked up, and I couldn't figure out how to unlock it.  My grandson Keaton came over Wednesday for dinner and was able to disable the lock screen for me.

Then Friday afternoon, after being gone all day at a mini quilt get together, I came home and my I-pad after being charged all day was at 20%.  I spent an hour up at Best Buy, and they put in a claim to Apple, filled out the paperwork, and told me to take it to UPS and they would ship it, and Apple would probably send me a new I-pad.  I pay for Apple Care every month, so it would be no cost to me.  I read every night on my I-pad 2-3 hours before going to sleep, so this was a real inconvenience trying to read on my phone.

Saturday morning I got up and headed up to UPS and told me they didn't see the paperwork to send it back, it was supposed to come in an email to UPS.  I was informed to go to a UPS hub, not a local store.

After talking to Kristen, she encouraged me to go to the Apple store and I made an appointment.  The young man that took care of me, rebooted my I-pad and all of a sudden it is charging again.  He told me if it happened again, and rebooting didn't take care of it, Apple would replace it.  So I am a happy camper.  I use my I-pad all the time.

My brother Bill who does beautiful woodworking, sent my Christmas package this week.  I held out 2 days before I opened them up, 2 cute gnomes, a wood tree, and driftwood piece no doubt made by my sister-in-law Char.

What I am continuing to work on for Slow Sunday Stitching is Kyleigh's poncho.  I have 9 more inches to go and I will be done.  I will be linking up with Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Karrin, those Gnomes are adorable. Your days are so filled with activity I am surprised you sleep! And that wood work! I love that kind of stuff. I am very appreciative of what they call wood turning. My daughter who lives in AK used driftwood she gathered from the beach there in table decorations for the company she works for their party last night. All that you do keeps me inspired.

  3. I hate computer issues be that on the Ipad, the computer or phone - I don't understand any of it and have a hard time figuring out what to do with it and my husband tends to loose patience with lack of computer knowledge

  7. So glad you got your computer and iPad issues figured out! We, too, use the iPads for so much and would miss them if there was an issue. Your Christmas village looks amazing and so do your cookies. I bet Kyleigh's poncho will be done before you know it!

  8. I love your ambitious village display. All of those cookies look quite delicious. I am always having to ask my husband for help with my computer. Thankfully he has always worked in the field so he knows what to do.....except when it comes to Apple products. I'm glad you have your iPad back. Your brother's gift is beautiful. Enjoy your knitting!
