Knit Knit Knit Knit

Hello lovelies,

Just popping by to let you know I have not fallen off the planet or anything so drastic. After arriving home from our big trip away and unpacking and trying to get back into the swing of everyday life, I managed to forget about updating the blog. But I have been knitting.. and knitting... and knitting some more. My fingers are sore :-)

I have finished a few little things in the past couple of weeks and have a photo shoot planned for next week. So will hold out to FO share pictures until then. The little sneaky peaks here of the yellow yarn is a test knit for Whirlsie Designs. A Mini Taliesin which is ever so cute. I just want a baby to fill it up. Yes I do.  Well a grand baby would be nice anyway.

I took delivery of a bunch of yarn last week and have been very very good and just admired it rather than cast on something new. The temptation has been killing me. Especially since those two at the front are my first hand dyed yarn deliveries and I am so looking forward to trying them out. The neutral yarns are intended for dyeing. I just need to get the courage to get started now. I have been wanting to try dyeing with natural plants for a long time but never quite got to it. I have some tansy flowers soaking and am keen to try it the old fashioned way. But of course feeling a little nervous at the same time lest I stuff it up.

Well I did cast on with the cotton. The Lavender one there but that is yet another test knit. This one for MyMyMy knitting.  Almost finished. Sneaky peaks only......

And last for a bit of crochet..... this is the first pic of a pattern I have been working on myself..... I need to make it in a plain colour as you can't really see the pattern in the skirt. I had to put it aside to finish the test knits but hope to get it finished by next month.

What have you been working on this week? I hope your crafty hands are keeping busy.

Love and Light to you xoxoxox

Things that come from keeping yarn in ones bag....

Good morning lovelies, How are you today?

Its a wee bit brisk down here but the the sun is shining in all its glory and I am looking forward to a nice walk along the beach later today.

Yesterday was the first long walk I  managed in a while, it has just been too cold to go far the last couple of weeks. We tried, but the wind was biting so we turned back and enjoyed the scenery from the car. Yesterday I walked with bare feet and tested the water which was slightly warmer than the air but not as warm as the lovely sun. It was enough that once you had walked that little bit you were warm enough to enjoy. So enjoy we did.

I love winter walks on the beach. You often get the whole beach to yourself and this means I might just happen to start singing, skipping along and whilst dreaming up new ideas. LOL Who am I kidding? I am prone to do this even if the beach is crowded. But it was a most loverly walk with only the sound of the ocean for company. The hubby by then had decided to take a run and I don't do run.

I do come up with pattern ideas though. Which reminds me of what I had to show you today. I have not named this one yet and am not sure whether I will write up the pattern or not. Sometimes I like to make what I call Scrappy hats or Happy Hats, hats that come about just because I happened to have been taking walks, going for drives (passenger wise of course) and from having a hook and yarn in ones bag at ALL times. Sometimes I make them up as I go, sometimes I try to take that picture from my head and make it real.

This one is made from Bendigo Woollen Mills Serenade, (which is a merino and bamboo blend) and some Cozy Wool which is a variegated pure wool.  I started with a flower and then went from there.

It was created whilst freezing ones toes off at early morning soccer matches, gazing at the beach on blustery windy days and finished whilst snuggled in front of a warm fire.

Take care lovelies, have a beautiful day. xoxox

Newsflash....

We interrupt all my buzzing around for the House of Bee to share the excitement that comes when one sees ones own patterns re-produced by others.... drum roll please.....HRStuart from our Ravelry group, Everything Zen has made not one but two of my Roman inspired helmut's....and what an awesome job she did too.  She has so kindly given me permission to share her picture so here it is....

These were made for children so its nice to see that the pattern works out no matter which version you choose to go with. Very excited over here. I am absolutely loving the colourful one too. :-)

Love and light to you my friends. xoxox

Oh my, we have started a new trend...

He sat next to me on Wednesday while I was looking at a post on a friends fb page when he leaned over and said, you will have to make me that. I will need it by Friday thanks.

No pattern, no amount of searching could turn one up so I looked at it and made a start and this is what we came up with.

Now of course his friends NEED one too. And he would like one in other colours. This colour was all I had that I deemed suitable. Hmmm I think I will need to go yarn shopping. We are thinking of tweaking it a bit as well and adding some plumes! Ancient Rome is our next trip into history. Can you tell? A nice red plume might work for that. Just for something different, you know?

Have a wonderful weekend lovelies.

Love and Light xoxox

Introducing Holly....

Hello my lovely friends, how are we all today?

Its been a crazy week at our house. Busy Busy Busy as usual. I was almost going to call this design a FAIL as the the band came out a little smaller than I wanted. Its a bit tight on my head. But then I went and found this young lady who I have decided to call Holly for future reference,  in the cupboard upstairs and well...... it fits her so I assume it would fit a young girl.....

I think I will write up the pattern with a variation on size and have a go at making it a little bigger in the rim. Other than that I am happy with it.

Ta-Dah

Have a wonderful week all. Hugs and smooches xoxox
