Recap of April Paintings

April-2015

There seems to be a green theme going on in last months paintings... my favorite colors are green and violet and I think it definitely shows here!!
I have finished two larger works, two studies  and now onto another big one... so things are moving in the right direction at last!!

I was very happy to have my painting 'Sauce Bottles' selected for FASO's Fav 15% in the March Boldbrush Competition, it's a nice surprise and helps keep me painting!!

Sauce Bottles

6"x6" Oil on gessoboard

Some more bottles! These old bottles I found when we moved house, they had been stuck in the back of a cupboard  for years.... I used to use them for sauce but haven't for a long time, I enjoyed painting them so  there will be more later on!!

It's All About Glass

8"x6" Oil on gessoboard
$100+ s/h

Time for a bit of a change! I like the difference in the size and shape of these bottles. I love the blue with the green and the marbles too.  To top it off they are standing on my glass palette...my favorite thing to use when painting still life. So it really is... all about glass!!

Sauce Bottles

Drawing #24
Graphite and Pastel

I have kept these old sauce bottles in my studio with the idea of painting them one day... I've drawn them for now and  hope to paint them later on!! I like the way only one has a cork, I'm not sure what happened to the other lids...they have been sitting so long I had to brush the dust off them! I find I am looking around for subjects that look good drawn on this mid toned paper! I'm enjoying the way this drawing challenge is making me look at things differently!!
