Summer Fruits

6"x6" Oil on board

At last I have finished another painting! This is the first time I have seen a lemonade apple and it was not easy to paint!
Some days are harder than others to get going. I lack inspiration. I feel a failure for not painting.  I am bored with the subject, I can't be bothered, it seems too hard...the list goes on!! Well I have a found a couple of simple daily habits to train my brain to associate it with work mode. It is simple...my painting apron goes on first, then I turn on music or a podcast. That means 'work time'! So far it has been working very well, my brain is taking notice!

An Apple a Day

This is the last painting until next year! I thought this would be an easy one to slip in before Christmas but NO it was not!! I struggled with it. The apple was ok but I probably won't paint another composition with the spoon placed like this! Terrible trouble with getting the silver spoon to look shiny.

Apple Sauce

6"x6" Oil on board
$100+s/h

This is the last painting I did for my calendar. I have been busy doing other projects around the house since I returned from my holiday. I  have had a good break from painting which is what I needed and it's given me time to think about  taking more time to develop some new ideas...especially with landscapes. I also want to get back to life drawing class in the New Year. I will still be doing my small paintings in between...well...this is the plan so far!!

Christmas Apple

6"x6" Oil on board
I know it's not even December yet...but when I tied the ribbon on this it reminded me of the small red apple decorations I put on our Christmas tree every year!
This is for 'an apple a day'  art project  Michel Oosterhout  has started on his website to  see who he can reach and where the apples come from. The goal is 365, one for each day.
