Happy New Year

Happy New Year one and all!

It's been quite a while since I posted here on the blog. To say life got in the way of my hobbies last year was an understatement. I'm hopeful that there will be more opportunities to partake in my hobbies is 2021.

The card I'm sharing today uses papers from the Serenity collection by Close To My Heart, gold glitter paper, and the Star shaker Thin Cut die.

February CTMH Cross Canada Blog Hop

Hi folks!

Welcome to our February Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the Celebrate Today collection from Close To My Heart. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, this collection has something for you.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada, then please start at the beginning at Michelle's blog. If you came from Michelle's blog then you are in the right place!

Today I decided to share the cards I made from LEFTOVERS from my Celebrate Today Cardmaking Kit. The kit itself makes 16 cards (four each of four designs). I had enough papers left over from my kit to make TEN MORE cards! Can you believe it? Here they are!

The first four are actually the result of an oops. I accidentally did my angle cut on the patterned paper in the wrong direction so THESE cards feature the floral side of the paper instead of the plaid.

These next two cards, I played with a technique we use in quilting - colour blocking - but with paper. I quite like the effect. A great way to use up smaller scraps.

These last four cards make use of some of the larger pieces of paper I had left over.

I used a BUNCH of different stamp sets on these cards - some new, some long retired. I *think* this is the full list:

  • S2002 - Cherishing Her (Feb 2020 SOTM)
  • S2001 - Everyday Magic (Jan 2020 SOTM)
  • S1909 - Random Acts of Cardness (Sept 2019 SOTM)
  • C1805 - one of the exclusive stamp sets from the Craft With Heart Cardmaking Subscription (Sept-Dec 2019 box)
  • C1633 - For Family (retired)

That's it for me! Up next is Brandi.

CTMH Spruced Up - the rest of my cards

Hi folks,

I'm back today to share the rest of the cards I made with the CTMH Spruced Up collection.

Some of these were sent out AFTER Christmas as winter wishes cards, others will be kept for next year's Christmas mail out. Perhaps I will be more timely.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

CTMH Spruced Up Card Making Kit - my take

Hi folks,

Looking back through my posts, I realized I forgot to post the REST of the cards I made with my CTMH Spruced Up papers.

Up today - the cards from the card making kit!

Most times with the kits, I like to switch it up and make the cards not quite identical to the kit suggestions. This time, I kind up stuck with the overall design for each of the cards. Mostly I just changed up the sentiments or used the opposite side of the paper.

There you go!

CTMH Craft with Heart Cardmaking - Jan to Apr - Card 1

Hi folks,

Over the next several days, I'll be sharing my makes from the current CTMH Craft with Heart Cardmaking Subscription. As with the previous kit, I tried to stay true to the initial design for half of the cards and then switched it up for the second one.

I have to say that the birthday cake shaker cards are among my favourites in this kit. I didn't do much to switch it up with this one - I just used two different sentiments from the exclusive stamp set included in the kit.

I'm loving the look of shaker cards and REALLY need to make more time to use all of the shaker appropriate dies I have to spruce up my hand made cards.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

January CTMH Cross Canada Blog Hop

Hi folks!

Welcome to our January Cross Canada Blog Hop featuring the Spruced Up collection from Close To My Heart. Whether you are a scrap-booker or card-maker, this collection has something for you.

If you've just hopped onto my blog, then you CAN start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada, then please start at the beginning at Michelle's blog. If you came from Rosalynd's post then you are in the right place!

The first card I made with this collection was actually a Christmas card for my spouse.

It came together very quickly using the wooden embellishments and one of the stickers from the sticker sheet. I stamped my sentiment onto the sticker et Voila!

Among the two dozen cards I have (so far) made with this collection, these are a few more of my favourites.

I love the Thin Cuts die set that coordinate with this collection. Quite a few of the cards I made with this collection feature the birds, the branches, and the pine cones. I used a mix of stamps from the coordinating stamp sets and a few retired sets as well - and quite a few of the stickers from the sticker sheet.

That's it for me! Up next is Brandi.
