So I tried to play it! It doesn't have an ending yet, right? It seemed like the game just kept looping.

The mystery seems pretty compelling, and I enjoyed the characters interacting with each other.

I can't say much about the aesthetics, as I'm guessing they're placeholders. Some songs in the tense or nostalgic moments would be nice, but I liked the sounds you used at the beginning.

It's giving Marble Hornet, I'm really curious to see where it goes!

Also came across that bug at some point.

Nope, I only lowered the volume a little, but didn't touch the brightness setting at all! Might be my screen setting?

Thank you for trying out our game! Really appreciate it :D

This was hard but I really enjoyed figuring out how the rules worked and retrying it over and over until I won! The goofy voice over made me crack up. Having way too many hours under my belt at slay the spire and inscryption, I'm always excited about card game themed video games.

I hope you do more, with more ennemies and different mechanics... Maybe something that would allow the player to generate more cards, because they seemed to run out fast! Either way, I really had fun.

I got the good ending on the first try! I didn't kill the monster though.

The walk cycle was a little silly, and I ended up having to go back and ram into the hanged man because he was getting in my way and I couldn't get to the key and note. It kinda removed the jumpscare which had me on edge, by making it funny? I also ended up not using the flashlight at all, it didn't feel like it was that necessary.

That being said, great aesthetics, good voice acting, and some genuinely tense moments!

I really enjoyed it, a horror game themed after ballet is pretty rare, as far as I'm aware! It's very original. And Tchaikovsky is always a pleasure to listen to!

If you were to make a longer version, it'd be really cool to get little hints about what happened to the kid, why she's haunting miss Pirouette, etc... just little details that would make the horror that much poignant.

It was really fun.

I took a lot of inspiration from Alien in general and Gieger's work specifically when painting the textures, I'm really happy to see that the vibes are correct :D

Thank you! I think the point was to have an arcade vibe, and also to add to the stress, as you can't move while you're aiming? Thanks again for giving our game a try!

Thank you, it's been really fun working on this game with our team :D

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for all the kind words! <3 Our team lead and dev did all the animations for the characters and the 3D models, so like 80% of the creep factor is thanks to him!

Yeah the end and game overs screens aren't working apparently. As it's not a game breaking bug, it probably won't be fixed until the jam is over.

(I didn't realize you could kill the first enemy, that's really funny.)

Yes the game over menu seems to be bugged U_U but as it is not a bug that makes the game unplayable, it probably won't be fixed until after the game jam. Thank you for playing it!

Honestly, I don't know either but yeah, the monsters keep spawning and attacking your corpse. It creeped me out when I saw it for the first time as well! Thank you so much for giving our game a try!

Thank you very much! Our team lead did the coding, the animating and all the characters are his 3D modeling! It's great to see his work appreciated :D

Absolutely love the graphics and the vibe of the game, it has a strong personality of its own.

It is however very very hard >_< I haven't been able to complete it so far. I'll keep trying, but the spooky guy keeps coming at me way too fast for me to do anything.

That being said the death screen is hilarious so I really don't mind seeing it often.

Thanks! When I was recruited, our team lead pitched it to me as a RE/SH kind of vibe! It's cool to see that it does read like that.

Re my review: it is pretty short, but I feel like there's definitely something cool here! I liked the art so far and the characters seem compelling. It's really cool you managed this much in such a short time!

nah dw it's all good!

Thank you very much! Our dev worked really hard on it so it's cool to see his work praised :D

Oh then I got all four endings! It's niche yeah, but it'll definitely find its public.

I just remembered that I caught a small bug (nothing that impacted the gameplay). When you equip a weapon after you got a couple, the upper screen displays a different one instead of the one that's actually properly equipped. It behaves normally during fights so, as I said, not a big deal.

It's really good so absolutely worth it!

Updated my rating as the downloaded version did fix my one sound issue entirely!

Excited to play it !

Ah that makes sense! I'll download it and give it a try after lunch!

This was so much fun! I appreciated the ability to reload the final fight because guessing what I could interact with VS what I couldn't was a tad difficult (but it's a point and click bossfight so it kinda goes with the territory)

The voice actors and writing were on point, the characters felt like complex people, even if you only get a glimpse of them. I really did enjoy our protagonist as well.

The aesthetic is absolutely on point, as usual with your games if I'm honest.

The only real issue I could point out is the sound design. The sounds are good, but some of the musics don't loop and the transitions can be pretty jarring? But that's really nitpicking.

This was super nostalgic, I love text based adventure games. I am still missing one of the endings, but it's been real fun playing it so I think I'll get back to it to complete it. The dice rolls add a lot to the old school vibe. Yeah, sometimes you lose "unfairly" but that's what saves are for. Real cool game, really enjoyed it.

Haven't rated yet because this bug came up! I like it so far, ask the admins if you can maybe patch it? :D I wanna see the ending!

I really like the concept of this game, and loving tarot I had a lot of fun doing the readings!

One thing that could be cool would be that depending on who you chose to lie to and who you chose to tell the truth to, you get different endings (like telling the brutal truth to rich clients ruins your reputation etc...). But it was a very short time to develop an entire game, so it's totally understandable for the scoring system instead.

I'm a little confused by the accuracy thing, when I think I got everything right, it says 3... Is it 3 out of 3? Did I miss something and just not realize it? Maybe adding the max score next to it would help?

The interpretations you can pick also tend to appear behind the salt lamp, which makes it harder to read.

Either way I really enjoyed it. The art is very cute, the game runs without bugs or anything, the concept is fun and the gameplay fits the theme. I'd be super happy to play it again or an extended version.

Private Eye Agency is just a demo right now and it's sadly not going to be finished for a while because it has so. many. characters. (It's a murder mystery so you need a large cast of suspects, lol). If you play it just... ignore the mini game thing at the end, it's not going to be in the final game. I'm leaving it as is since I made it for a game jam and I'm proud of it even if it's wonky.

The yuri game will be called Blood and Snow and it's a retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood :D With werewolves :D

I commented on the video, but I'll answer you here as well :P Thank you so much for playing my game and for the praise!

As a fellow monster lover, I'm very happy you liked Oisin's design! I wanted him to look a little uncanny but still beautiful. If I ever write a follow up to this story (probably after the Yuri game I'm currently working on and the full version of Private Eye Agency), I'm looking forward to designing all of Oisin's relatives and the courtiers.

And as far as I'm concerned, the romance ending is the canon one. I love these two lonely nerds. :P

aw thank you very much <3

Thank you!! I'm gonna do my best to make it happen, it's just a lot of work to do solo so it might take a little while longer. Still, I want this to be as good as I can make it :D

oh you're absolutely right ! Thank you, I didn't notice at all.

Aw that was so sweet and funny!

This is super cute! A little tricky to get right, but absolutely adorable!

I'm so happy you liked it! Thank you so much for playing my game. I hope you'll like the updated version, I'm working on CGs and backgrounds so it'll look nicer in the end. Again, thank you <3

Hey thank you so much for having answered but I found a team like a week after I posted this (and then forgot I posted this... oops). Maybe next time?

Hi! I'm an artist with a couple of VNs under my belt. You can see the games I worked on my profile, and you can see my illustrations on my webpage.

I can code on renpy, write and do art, but as I also have a full-time day job, I was thinking it'd be nice to have a teammate to be creative with and share the workload! :D

A writer would be the ideal fit I think, as english isn't my mothertongue and translating takes me quite a bit of time... ^^' I tend to err on the horror side of things, but I'm open to trying out different genres?

Yeah sadly we ran out of time. I couldn't finish the protag's sprite as I had work the next morning, but the dev managed to put it in so there wouldn't be nothing there.

Same thing for the sound, we ran out of time and we decided better to deliver something incomplete than nothing at all :P

Thank you very much! I'm absolutely a beginner when it comes to animation (that's my second walk cycle ever) so I think I took more time than necessary on it, which then impacted my ability to provide the rest of the assets on time for Poioio, the dev. I'm glad it came out looking nice though!

We had intended to add a "simon says" type of game with sequences to memorize and enter, a "mastermind" type where you had to guess a password, and a "conversation tree" game where you had to convince the AI to do what you needed it to do.

I might have been able to do it if it weren't for my day job, but we definitely overscoped for the amount of time we actually had. ^^'
