Seems pretty good so far! The visuals were nice and I liked that the final upgrades have an option that affects gameplay in some way. I was able to get high enough to clear the wall but I guess there's an invisible wall or something preventing me from getting past 😅

There are a few things that took away from the experience though. I'm not sure if it was intentional, but I never really felt in control of the plane, even with later upgrades. The plane would sometimes roll out of control, and I was constantly having to pick up and reposition my mouse to keep aiming. A minor thing as well is that there were times it looked like I could hit a collectable, but ended up missing it.

Overall it's coming along nicely and I hope to see it get even better 😁

You can definitely try lots of things and see what you like! Just think about what you want you think would be fun and give it a go!

There's no one way to improve combat. I'm no expert myself, but here are a few examples of things I could think of:

  • Combo meter - This can be a good risk/reward mechanic and it can be pretty fast to add into a jam as well.  You could make it so each kill increases the meter, you could make it so picking up the meat fills it, or even bringing it to the bear. There's lots you could do with it, maybe the meat that drops scales with the combo meter and is worth more, maybe there could be points and getting them scales with the combo, or gain a special move when a high enough combo is reached
  • Enemy behaviours - Be creative and give some varied mechanics to your enemies. Maybe grey wolves just move towards you like they normally do, but white wolves could move in a way that's harder to predict. Maybe add some new enemy types like a bird that drops down when you're below it. Maybe have some rare enemies that don't really attack you but steal meat. Just think through what could be interesting and give it a try, if you don't like the way an enemy behaves you can always go with something else or iterate on it
  • Different player moves - There are lots of games out there you could pull some inspiration from. You could give your player a dash, a melee option when you're up close to enemies that deals extra damage for some risk/reward, you could throw some bait or a stun grenade to keep the wolves away from you in a tight situation, or you could have something like an explosive attack on a cooldown that is good for occasionally taking down large groups. Not everything will work, but it can be fun to try different things

Keep in mind these are just some basic ideas to get started. I'm not saying these will fix your game or have to be followed, just think of them as a jumping off point for generating ideas. Just play a bunch of games and make a bunch of games and you should have an easier time coming up with interesting ideas

You mentioned you wanted some feedback in Discord, I'm not sure if I'll be of any help but I'll give it a try 😅

It seems like an alright start and I liked the bear, though there are definitely ways things can be improved.

One thing I look for with games is interesting interactions between the game and the player. Ways you can affect the game and ways the game affects the way you play. It was pretty much just basic shooting mechanics with enemies walking towards you. Combat just didn't feel great since the only interactions are you or the enemy soaking up damage.

Mechanics in the game should also compliment each other. I saw that you could resize blocks and sort of use them to get the high ground and avoid enemies or to slightly divert wolves around it, but it didn't mesh with the fast paced nature of the game. It felt slow to use and didn't offer the player much. When coming up with mechanics just make sure they reinforce the core idea of the game

Lastly is to just watch out for bugs. I saw some wolves tipping over and while it's funny, it can hurt the experience a bit. That can be helped a bit with some playtesting throughout making things

I hope I'm not being confusing. All in all, it mostly just comes down to experience. Keep making stuff and learning new things and this stuff should come naturally. Good luck and I hope you keep enjoying the process of making games 😁

Thanks!  I'm not sure when I'll get to it but I'll let you know what I think once I give it a try

I see, that makes sense since I saw it slide back a few times

My mistake, I didn't pay much attention to it after the first try since I thought it was the same 😅

Nice work, getting over the walls was satisfying thanks to the confetti, though the tighter jumps kind of slowed things to a crawl due to not having enough time to dive and swim up

Cute art style and I enjoyed the writing 😁

I love how absurd this is! Great job!

The artwork was really cool! I think it would be nice if there was some way to know how much health I have and how much enemies have. I couldn't tell if some were unbeatable or just had huge health pools

Nice work! I enjoyed the goofiness, even when the physics didn't quite behave properly 😂

I thought I'd be playing as the racoon from the thumbnail, I think it would have been pretty cute

Nice work! Swapping parts for abilities was a neat idea and I loved how you included multiple paths in the second level

Cute game and I liked the voxel world!

I had a little trouble picking things up since the mob got pretty crazy, but otherwise it was neat!

Nice work! I like the chonky rat and the resize mechanic was fun to use!

I think it would be nice if the boxes had higher friction when not being pushed as they slid more than I expected

Nice work, I really liked the goofy wizard sprite and the scaling puzzles were neat. I had some trouble with clicking on some things when a scalable room overlapped them but otherwise it was good

Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing 😁

I actually wanted to add more mechanics but had to make do with just the cats and the blocks. I'm glad to hear that worked out though 😁

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
I definitely wanted an undo button and got started on it, but ran out of time to finish it 😅

Good to hear you enjoyed it 😄

There are at least a couple of solutions I know of to spare the orange cat in the sacrifice level, I'll see if  I can fix that 😂

Nice work! I'm pretty bad at it but it was fun trying to map things out and having the characters in the room dropping little hints was a nice touch

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! And I'd love to see your cat walk around like that 😂

Nice! The animations and character design were well done and the platforming with the slime throw was fun!

I did notice a hole in the 2nd room that I fell through thinking it may be a secret area 😅

Nice work! I like the cat sprite and the game felt good to play. The only thing I'd really mention is that it may be nice to have the light as a toggle on click instead of always holding it down

Nice little experience! The visuals were cute and the dialogue got a few chuckles out of me.

I was worried about using the knife on the regular cat for the cake round, I'm glad I didn't use it the first try but I regret going back after to see what happened 😱

Nice work and it's nice to see another stretchy cat game!

The levels seemed well put together and the extra collectables were a nice touch. The only real issue I had was that the physics objects would sometimes behave a little weird, such as bouncing around or even pushing me into a wall

Nice work! The writing was good and it definitely got a bit stressful when I tipped it too far in the people's favor. I was worried I was going to have to do some pretty awful things to the peasants to bring it back but luckily I survived my shift😅

I did find that the visuals were a little hard to look at due to the bloom, otherwise I definitely enjoyed it and it was nice to see another game featuring cat royalty

The opening was really solid and I really like the audio and graphics, but I couldn't figure out what to do in the second level. If it was more clear I think it would be a pretty awesome game!

Also, nice to see another game with stretchy cats!

Nice work!  I like the 3d art and destroying enemies from the inside seems pretty cool! I thought the bat would be for reflecting projectiles, maybe in the future?

Thanks for the feedback!

I was thinking of having a visual effect when holding space but I didn't get a chance to add it in. A sound for an indicator definitely sounds good as well

For the cat size I couldn't quite get the sprites to look right at 1 unit in height, I definitely got the height mixed up with the king while testing at least a couple times since his crown sticks up so it's definitely an issue 🤔

If I continue the game I'll try to make sure it's obvious where things drop and I can probably add some more background tiles post jam for the catch level

Happy to hear you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback. If I continue it in the future I can see about introducing mechanics more gradually

Cute game, I liked the rat and the game looked pretty nice in general!

I could only get to the start of level 4, it's a little too precise for me. I mainly just found the bumpers hard to use consistently. The abundance of checkpoints definitely helped

Nice to see another stretchy animal game! The gameplay was neat, though I think I would have enjoyed it more if there was some background music for the levels

That definitely sounds like a tricky thing to balance, it definitely had more impact since I didn't expect it

Nice work!  It's well polished, I liked the goofy visuals, and the meow button was a nice touch at the start(even if it was just for the sound test)

I think it would have been neat if it ended after a few and had a showcase of your "art" to give it some purpose and an end point. Since it was endless I kind of ran out of steam after a couple. Also, when clicking on overlapping objects it doesn't always pick the one at the top.

Overall though it was pretty good

Awesome game! Things are really polished, I loved the art, and it's fun to discover an assortment of fish and their dialogue.

I didn't realize there was a bug with the bobbit worm and was about to try to scan it for the third time before seeing it in the known bugs, I think it may be good to make that a bit more visible in the page. Trying to scan it was fun and the first time seeing it was definitely a little terrifying 😂

Also, I like the cat

Nice game! I love Bob's goofy design and the puzzles are neat!

Nice work and the robot was pretty cute! The game was very polished and had a nice difficulty, not being too hard or too easy. The only time I really got stumped was on the second last level and it was nice having a little "aha" moment once I figured it out.
I had some difficulty clicking blocks in the browser version but had no issue with the downloaded one

Awesome entry, and it's nice to see another stretchy puzzle game!

Everything is well polished, the puzzles are nicely done, and I really like the variety in level themes 😁

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the game 😁

It took me over 30 minutes but I managed to complete it 😱

This is definitely what Magikarp Jump should have been, nice work!
