I’ve played all of the Wipeout games since 1995 and I still listen to the soundtracks in my car as I drive way too fast. I tell you this because I am your target audience, yet I swore off Microsoft products many years ago. Please consider making a Linux or MacOS version! I am also an indie developer and can assist with making a build, if you use Unity or Unreal or Godot, or even a custom engine. At the very least, I can test the builds for you. Either way, let me know! The game looks great. Love the name.

Nice to play a game with some personality! Shaders look great. Well done, especially for a ludum dare entry. Would anyone like any toast?
The permissions on the executable were not set correctly when uploaded to itch. You can fix this by opening Terminal, go to the MacOS directory within the app, and giving it the execution permission. For example:
- Launch Terminal
- type “cd ~/Downloads/TheSignalMac/TheSignalMac.app/Contents/MacOS”
- run the command “chmod +x The\ Signal”
- Then hold Alt when right-clicking to launch the app the first time.
To the author: I use butler to upload to itch. The “–fix-permissions” option works for me. For instance: “butler push –fix-permissions TheSignalMac.app oddball/the-signal:macos”
I would like to try the demo and purchase this on itch. Why else would I be here
Does not seem to load, the unity web player pops up, but it’s blank. I’m on linux, launched with itch.io app. ..Sorry I don’t know where to get the logs for a WebGL game launched this way. If I download/run directly in the browser, it complains about not having a webserver.
Finding the Fun brought me here! This is my vote for a MacOS or Linux build.
I realized there are no builds available after I made that comment. Any chance we’ll see a build for MacOS or Linux? I can assist with that, if you’re interested.
Received no hits when searching directly for your game on the itch.io site or app. Try it yourself:

I think there’s a setting to expose to itch.io searches. Now I’m off to actually play the thing!
Not sure what your min spec is but on my MacBook Pro (Early 2015, 2.7 GHz, 8 GB DDR3, Intel Iris Graphics 6100) the game runs slow enough that it’s unplayable. There’s a full second delay between input and character movement. If you allowed the window to be resized, maybe a smaller resolution would speed things up enough to be playable for me.
My comment was rude, I’m sorry. I’m actually excited to try your game, so I’ll give it try with wine.
Please don’t mark as playable on Linux without a Linux build. All Windows builds can potentially run through Wine but that doesn’t mean they’re supported by you or the Wine devs.
I want to play your game but I only have a Mac and Linux box.
Linux: I have an AMD processor and cannot run Intel builds. Please upgrade to GMS2 and make an x86_64 build for Linux.
I’d love to see a MacOS build, but reading on the yoyogames site I see they really try to make you jump through hoops! No Mac developer really needs to use XCode or get certificates unless you publish to the App Store. I’ve made games with a custom engine and with Unity for MacOS without all that nonsense.
Btw, updated Macs cannot run wine anymore!
Anyway, the game looks great so don’t give up!
I'd love to test this if you can make a MacOS or Linux build! It runs in wine on MacOS, but so it slows down gradually due to wine exceptions. Love the style, and gameplay feels nice.
You have been extremely helpful, I am very grateful. You are absolutely right about the file extension- itch.io provides a tool that validates builds, and that was indeed the problem.
I'll fix the mouse sensitivity, and add twinstick aiming. Thanks again!
Thank you! I suspect the problem is in how I uploaded the build. Are you willing to download the zip using a browser, and see if it runs when launched directly? I don't have access to WIndows for playtesting.
Any and all feedback is welcome, but I have specific questions on the project page that could use your input!
I appreciate the time you take to give any kind of feedback. You can reply in this thread or start a new one. Thank you!
I managed to read it all without getting bored. That has to count for something!
I could use some advice on how to ask for feedback.
How many of these questions can I ask without imposing too much?
I've decided to not use analytics, which might have answered most of these.
Am I going about this the wrong way?
# general
Does the game launch successfully?
Did you use the itch.io app or download the app?
Is the framerate (in the upper righthand corner) typically above or below 50 fps?
# preferences
Do you use keyboard or game controller?
Are the controls too difficult or uncomfortable to use?
Did you change the bindings?
What is your preferred Cursor Sensitivity?
Do you like Cursor Influence option?
What is your preferred Camera Size (Shown in lower lefthand corner. Use scroll wheel or settings menu to change)
# open ended questions
Any specific control layout preferences?
* bumpers for dash and jump?
* spacebar to jump and left shift to dash?
Have difficulty aiming?
Can you perform a dash+walljump? (while wallslide, dash + move towards wall, then jump, then move away)
Image is very nice and info is concise. Which platforms will you support?
Just thought it's worth a mention. Also, after installing Mono, I had to export the path manually using:
export PATH=/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Versions/Current/bin/:${PATH}
I enjoyed the demo! Controls feel good and art is perfect! Looking forward to more levels.
The ESDF control map has E bound twice, making it impossible to move forward. Thank you sincerely for supporting home row controls, though!
You can also put your bicycle in your car ;)
Fourthed? Yeah, Fourthed!
Linux or MacOS build please
This looks great! I think I'll actually pre-order.
Just a note about the description: "Play as a special ops combat unit sent to investigate why the stars around SolarPlay as a special ops combat unit sent to investigate why the stars around Solar System are going dark in MegaSphere ..."
I think... I found F.O.U.R. randomly while browsing through itch. I clicked because of the minimal character style (I'm looking for character style ideas for my own game), and wanted to see if you had made other games with minimal character styles when I saw Blomst. I love tiny planets and could not help myself :)
This should be called Flappy D and the Boyz
Simple, calm and satisfying. Well done! Toward the end of terraforming, it felt like a compulsion to COVER THE PLANET WITH PRETTY PRETTY PLANTS
The premise is hilarious and had me laughing immediately. The gameplay is much more fun than I expected! Well done.
I just discovered this game was foretold on [oldmanmurray.com](https://www.oldmanmurray.com/longreviews/47.html. "When will somebody make the action man's chess?"
You've done it. You've made the action-man's chess.
Cute! The waving arms made me laugh immediately. Is there a finale I missed? I made everyone happy, and I assumed that would make me happy and then everyone would dance or something. Riding animals was a nice touch.
