Cute sprites, and the "attempts"-sticky note is a super fun idea. I also really appreciate that you made the enemies' intents visible to the player. I wouldn't have minded if there was a bit more decision-making involved, but I still enjoyed my playtime.

Everything is quite cool! There is a bit too much output randomness for me, and it removes some of the strategizing, but all-in-all, its very cool!

I really liked the set-up and the music! I wonder if it might've been interesting to offer a bit more choice to the player, for example different "attack" dice that either e.g. had more chance to trigger an elemental attack, vs doing more base damage.

I got to the ice enemy :p I love the sounds first of all, and the art was really charming. At first I had trouble understanding and deriving strategy from the gameplay but once I learned about elemental attacks I had a lot of fun trying to experiment with what I could do <3

Cute art and I like the sound effects! It took a second for me to understand what was going on, but I think I got it in the end. Pretty much random how far you get. I like the funny text on the game's itch page.

First off, those enemy licking animations were hilarious. I didn't make it super far (died to the second icicle), but still enjoyed it. I do wish there was a good way to tell what you were rolling other than the damage you were outputting, but nonetheless great job!

This is a great starting place for a future game. Maybe add in a visual roll of a dice for each attack and a bit more variance in the combat itself and this could be a real engaging experience. But I have to say seeing that frog lick Beebo like that really irked me to my core LOL, I'd just give up magic on the spot if that frog gave me that lick
Thanks! Agree completely. We sort of had a visual dice roll system planned (including animations for Beebo himself rolling dice), but we never got around to coding it in. As for more variance, you are very right, that is something that is totally missing at the moment.
Cool concept, very slay-the-spirey which is always a good thing! loved the way the frog enemies attacked as well.
However, I wish there was more mechanical depth. The elemental weaknesses were an awesome touch but I wish you could be more strategical with them. Maybe 'bank' a dice state like saving a piece in Tetris, which you can swap out?

We had a lot of concepts going in that we haven't had the time to realize. Yours was one. We had a lot of downscaling to do. Kudos to the programmers for getting a working game out!

Loved the concept. With a few more features, I think it'd have a lot of potential. I did have an issue with the web version where the buttons weren't aligned with the rest of the screen, but other than that, it was really enjoyable ^-^
Thank you for the compliments. And you are right about the button alignment issue; I originally made the game to be played at a very specific resolution, which turned out to be a big mistake. Live and learn!
Knowing the enemy intents gave it a very Slay the Spire type feel, but the strategy of just attacking when they defend and defending when they attack was enough to get through the entire game pretty easily. With a couple more features this could be really cool!
You have a very valid complaint regarding how simple basic strategy is (especially for those with Slay the Spire experience). Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to finish the plethora of gameplay mechanics that our designers came up with. Greatly appreciate this feedback.
Fun game, I would add some more tactics, or some shop to upgrade Beebo to have some other progress than just new enemies, but I had fun... :D

Really loved the enemy attacks and the music. The gameplay is a bit uncontrollable, as I can't understand the amount of damage I'm going to make or block.
Thank you for the feedback. It is true that the gameplay is very luck based. Perhaps we could have improved things by giving the player more on-screen information to help them make more meaningful decisions (like the exact value of their health, how damage or block values are calculated via die rolls, and how elemental imbued attacks affect damage calculations). So you definitely have a very valid point.
The enemy sprites were enjoyable for my friends. I feel like there is little to no interactivity other than attack or defend, so the game was kinda a slog to get through. I feel that more choices other than take damage or not take damage might be worth exploring.

Perhaps different types of attacks, or bonuses for certain types of attacks. Or perhaps things that affect future turns. Honestly, there's a lot you could go through, especially if you decide to expand the scope of the game. The world's your oyster.
One concept that we had was that Beebo "attempts" magic. You can choose to roll an elemental die that will have a random chance of helping, hindering, or a little bit of both.
Cool idea. It would have been better if the randomization done for the defense and attack was also visible for the player character...
Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it a lot. The reason why it was not done that way was because it might make the game too easy. For example, if the attack roll is only 10, while your defense roll is 40, the choice becomes a no-brainer. Still though, you are definitely on to something. The game for sure needs a lot more information displayed to the player.
ah. I see what you are trying to do…. Might need one small mechanic after the dice is rolled to make that decision making interesting…
