Amazing! The game is really fun. I wish it was a little lesse unforgiving though, it gets frustrating at some point since enemies one shot you and have the aim of a god.
This is a really fun game and the recruiting mechanic allows for a lot of tactics and strategies not found in similar shooting games. The oil barrels and cars add a nice touch too! My only major criticism is to make the game a bit harder!
Whaaaaaoouu! I really love your game! An amazing game that pictures a sad reality ...
All the details are here, from the oil explosion to the sounds on cars. I love the fact that one bullet kills you, that adds a lot of pressure to the game and really help to be into it!
The level are not too long so it does not bring frustration to restart them over and over!
There is maybe a little problem with the collision on the electric lines (you expect no to stop on them, but maybe I'm wrong)
One of my favourite! Thank you for the experience! 😁
This was so much fun to play through. My only gripe is that the one level I got the most points in is the one where I recruited the fewest civilians. It seems that killing enemies is only worth points if you do it yourself, and recruiting is worth less than a kill. Outside of that small balance issue the gameplay and art were fantastic. Great work.
You see, killing enemies is harder and riskier than letting the AI do it for you. That's why you get more points from it :)
Agree to others regarding the Hotline Miami vibes. Time should factor into the overall score, otherwise I don't have much to criticize. Nice job.
I thought about adding a timer thing, but I couldn't think how to add it in the main menu without it looking dumb
Big Hotline Miami vibes, both the concept and the visuals were quite polished! I wonder how it could be expanded, I feel there's more potential in there c: Fun game!
Last level felt pretty impossible and the AI was almost a bit too good? I like the concept and it definitely has promise. I would like to be able to control my troops once I've recruited them. I look forward to seeing this one develop!
The last level has not one but two machine gun turrets, they might come in handy ;)
Also, you could try to recruit the civilians on the enemy side before they do. However thanks for the feedback!
hahaha Love it! This game is thematic and fun! Controls feel well and responsive and the visual and audio feedback is awesome too! Hmm, the only critique I can think of is to add a visual indicator for the player, like say an outline. Well done!
War Has Never Been So Much Fun as this game. Literally masterpiece, I got a lot of fun from the game. It is very nicely designed, including the visuals. Shooting feels very good.
It was super fun to play and I love the idea of recruiting people, the only issue I found is that you can easily miss yourself among the crowd because it's the same sprite, maybe a different color for the player or a different sprite would improve it a little. At the same time, more clear feedback that you die would help a lot too.
The feedback when shooting is amazing and I love the camera movement. Great job! would love to see it as a full game
The systems seems great, but it felt like I had to rush to get as many recruits as possible to not get overrun. Probably because I am not good with dexterity based games, haha.
It would be interesting to design this with more players in mind. Maybe you get to control a civilian when your PC dies? What happens if there are more than 2 players? More than 2 teams? There are many things you could explore in this design space!
Pretty good game, very enjoyable and pretty polished
I had a lot of fun figuring out an optimal recruitment path, very well polished game!
I had a great time, beat all the levels. I wish there was a little more strategy in which civilians you went for, as I think right now it's more figuring out the optimal path to take-- regardless, it was a lot of fun. Shooting felt satisfying, my only complaint is that the cursor was quite difficult to see. Also, I'm not sure if this is just Itch being weird, but the game wouldn't go into fullscreen.
Great job!
If you get a chance to check out my game, that'd be appreciated! :)
I don't know if this is different on different operating systems or browsers, but on my computer the mouse cursor on the menu screen was nearly invisible (black on a black background).
Other than that… interesting take on the theme, but maybe not my type of game? Both in terms of theme (I'm not into military stuff) and gameplay (I'm not good at it).
Original idea, the whoel recruiting thing! I didn't feel like I actually needed the recruits to beat the baddies though!
Really makes you feel like a war criminal
This makes me think back to playing games on miniclip many years ago, great job!
A really interesting and unique take on the theme and good execution! I really enjoyed the mechanics and overall design! The AI could be improved a bit, but nevertheless a great game!
love the idea and overall execution, i would love to see the soundtrack throughout the levels instead of just on the level select and credit screen and maybe some more varied colouration in the allies and enemies as well as varying the types of allies and enemies. but overall this was really fun and i would love to see some more levels
