This is an extremely fun and simple game. And gives me strong Tetris vibes. The only thing I would love to see is more experimentation in mechanics that you have already established. If you are going to introduce more mechanics then I don't think you should change the current one. I really do feel like you have perfectly nailed the balance with it. Even though it goes infinite it is extremely fun.
And lastly I want to see more Tetris vibes. Give me those extremely rewarding dopamine shots when I break a connection of 6+.
I usually think of accidents as things like spilling my drink down my trousers. So, this is a really cool accident with very fun gameplay. I gave it a few tries and ended up with a highscore of 332.
Awesome, love it. This game is so elegant and fun. The only thing I can think of would be to maybe have a more obvious death animation. Excellent job.
This game was fun. Simple, little game.
At first, I thought that this concept fits the theme "unjoined" but not "joined". But after few minutes of playing, I really stick with it. Loved it!]
I think it's a good future mobile game. Keep going! :)
Fun little game. It's satisfying to chain together destroyed objects, my high score was 168.
Tiny criticism: when the game resets, so does the control method
Oh I didn't catch that, thanks for pointing that out. I'll make the control method variable static next time so that way it lasts throughout sessions. I can see why pressing M to change to arrow keys each time can be pretty annoying. Sorry about that, I'm glad you enjoyed though! :D
No problem, I ended up just using the mouse anyway, just a bit of feedback :)
Saw this on stream today and thought it looked like fun. I wasn't wrong! This is a great, on the edge of your seat, action game! Marvelous job!
Thank you! Out of curiosity which stream was it?
Stream 4! 1:10!
Really really satisfying. I love the music and the visuals. I think it would be fun if the game gradually sped up, both for the squares and for the player :)
simple, yet enjoyable; a phrase that could sum up this whole experience.
This is so much fun to play, I liked the unique controls (i.e. following the mouse instead of keys) and the sound and visual design made it feel really old-school-arcade like! I'm terrible at it but other than that it's excellent
This was refreshingly simple, I picked it up in seconds! I especially like the combo mechanic, that cutting one connection breaks all subsequent ones. In a way, this game is like ours, but the reverse!
Cool arcade game. I like that the squares move towards each other before the connection forms, so it's possible to predict where one will be. A cool feature would be a dash: higher risk of crashing but a reward of a speed boost.
I like this simple take on the theme. I think this could be expanded into a really fun arcade-style game where you get combos and score multipliers for breaking multiple blocks apart with one move. Great work!
This is a really really good submission! I love the juicyness of it all, and the way chains of linked enemies explode is really cool.
One thing I think would make it that much better would be if score was based on breaking chains, and for every link in a chain you broke all at once, the score you got from that chain was multiplied. That would incentivize risk/reward behavior of allowing long chains to form for a higher score
The music is a little too loud but aside from that, it's great! A fun arcadey game that uses the GameJam theme really well! :)
Very fun game, could see myself playing this for a long time if it had leaderboards.
I actually tried implementing leaderboards using lootlocker but there was issues so unfortunately I had to remove it. I may add a leaderboard system in the future. Glad you enjoyed it! :D
I had a fun time with this! Like the juice in the sfx and visuals.
Great concept and love the music!
Really great and interesting concept,
I love the amount of juice and polish in the gameplay !
Simple but functionnal art and really cool 8-bit music !
I managed to do 96 on first try :p
