Welcome to the first annual Flash Clash, a game jam for the FCHS Software Development class. You'll be working in teams to build a game, and then judging each other's games based on four categories: gameplay, aesthetics, innovation, and fun.

🎮 Gameplay is based on the mechanics and systems built into the game. Are controls intuitive? Is there a reasonable level of complexity to the game? Are decisions and choices meaningful and interesting? Think about this while voting on gameplay.

🖼️ Aesthetics are the factors that impact how the game makes you feel. Does the game put you under pressure, or is it relaxing? Do you have an emotional response to the game? Is it scary or cute? Do the creative elements mesh together well, such as the audio and visuals? Think about this while voting on aesthetics.

🛠️ Innovation involves doing something new. Is this something you've never seen before, or is it a just a clone of another game? Are the mechanics new and interesting? Is there a compelling story? Did anything surprise you? Think about this while voting on innovation.

🎉 Fun is exactly what it sounds like. Is the game fun? Do you find yourself forgetting that you're playing a game? Are you having a positive experience? Do you want to keep playing? Think about this while voting on fun.

The theme for this game jam is ⚔️RPG⚔️

Your game needs to have the player take the role of a hero, facing some kind of danger or difficulty for the greater good. The specific implementation details are up to you, but your game needs to be school-appropriate. Good luck!
