How does you game fit the theme?
Entrapped in a strange facility, you find your way to the exit through the use of shadows - creating blocks from nothing and entrances where there would otherwise be none. All you have is Emmett, your happy-go-lucky Companion Cube (Not to be confused with Portal's CC). As you make your way out, you begin to question what's real.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
yes... everything except for a single song(not copyrighted)

Wow, fantastic project! Using the shadows like this was a really cool idea, you had a great aesthetic for a puzzle game. The inspiration from Portal was very clear and endearing.
I think a very short tutorial or story element could add a lot to the game. It took me a while to figure out what I needed to do, and I didn't always understand a clear motivation or goal for each stage.
I liked the sparse, mysterious vibe, but I still think adding music to the levels could go a long way without getting rid of that.
Nicely done! I would definitely be interested in playing a fleshed-out version of this.
wow, well done , what a game
grabbing the shadows is an amazing idea, but i had to come here to investigate to find out it was even possible, congratulations on your work! very original and fun!
Wow, impressive mechanics! Well done: i liked it
nice game!
First of all, VERY innovative game! Like others have already pointed out, I didn't really know what to do, after I opened the game, I was staring at the computer screen (very cool) for 5 minutes trying to figure out how to start the game. But you guys killed it with the gameplay, grabbing shadows is so cool, I've never seen something like this, once I got a hang of it, the game became much more enjoyable. Excellent work guys, you killed it!
I needed to check the gifs on your game page to figure out what to do. It would be nice if the game give you this first little info :)
Anyway, this is a very awesome concept, keep working on this. Awesome work :)
Your game has a cool concept and fits the theme pretty well. The Gameplay is fun the music is relaxing and it isn't too hard (I don't know why thought it's gonna be hard). Really good and polished game. Well done! =]
You are the only person that said it "isnt too hard". Everybody says how the game is too hard and they get stuck on the first level, so props to you :D
I'm really intrigued by this game concept and am really sad I couldn't see more of it. I got stuck on the first level. Hopefully you work on this after the Jam so I can come back and play when we all have more time to polish our games. Good Job!
Yeah we definitely will be working more on the game, infact we already are working hard at making it better. Thanks to all of the feedback we've learnt that the main part to focus on is the "tutorial" part since everybody is struggling to grasp the mechanics, so we will definitely work on that!
ps. look at the gifs on the store page on a hint or even solution to the first levels ;)
The concept for this game is very good but once figured out that I could grab the shadow I didn't know what to do with it, and I got stuck on the first level.
Hi, happy to be your 20th rater! The graphics are really cool, and I especially liked how you put the menu in the game on a computer, but in some levels I could not find it. If you did not put the menu computer in every level, you probably should, so that there are no levels where you don't have access to it.
If you plan on polishing the game after the jam, I'd also recommend adding some kind of tutorial, because I was having a hard time figuring out how to interact and what to interact with. It would also contribute to the Portal vibes. We used a GLADoS AI voiceover in our tutorial, the gameplay is very different, but the atmosphere is similar.
Overall, an innovative and good-looking game, and some little improvements would make it even more fun.
Thanks for being the 20th rater! :D also thank you for the feedback, when it comes to the computers missing in some of the levels, thats due to us adding them last second and forgetting to add them to all of the levels thanks to sleep deprivation:)
We definitely plan to polish the game and improve on the concept so we appreciate the recommendations!
Very well cured in the details, the arts is neat and enjoyable. Game play is a bit tricky but once you get the grip on it then the game is funny. Well done!
Good luck!

Rated!
would u like to do the same 4 me? it'll be a great help https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1418965
The idea is interesting, but it took me a while to figure out how to interact with the shadows. And I just started clicking and dragging everything in level 2 to get past it.
Really nice concept! The idea of using shadows as concrete objects is a cool idea.
very interesting idea! i was a bit confused until i realized i could grab the shadows, and the game's pretty challenging, but overall it's very cool! :D
Rated your Game !!! can you check out mine too? It'd be a huge help if you do rate mine!,
Thank you so much!
here's mine: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1415313
VERY cool mechanic! However, the game kinda lacked hints or instructions so i was clueless (up until you showed me how the game works). Also It's a bit too bright for me, so my eyes are not able to keep up with the game for a long time. Pretty fun!
Oh also it's a bit spooky to me due to all of the shadows.
