Geometric nature

Symmetry is usually defined as a sense of "balanced proportions" or "the quality of having parts that match each other," especially in an attractive way. And, when you think about it, it is all around us. Whether we look at human beings, architecture, art, or biology, there’s nothing more fascinating than seeing how the world is full of perfect forms and harmony.

Geometric forms are those which correspond to named regular shapes, such as squares, rectangles and circles. I like the fact that not all naturally occurring objects are organic and it is the precision and regularity of forms within the natural world which I find particularly inspiring. This is the tall saguaro in my neighbor's yard that I've been watching for 2 years. I think that it will be one of those rare ones that form the crest at the top, in a "wave-form". It's really hard to capture the detail when the light is right, for the sky in the background really throws off the exposure. This is the first of 3 in a row.
