Measuring the level of knowledge, insight, design ability, and perception of architecture students in architectural design courses based on understanding absolute concepts on the one hand and the process of relativizing the concepts, on the other hand, is done considering such criteria as formulating and prioritizing the system of design problems, the explanation of problem-solving approaches, and the quality of processing creative ideas in each of the design subjects. The current procedure used in the education system of architecture in the architectural faculties of Iran has led to a kind of ambiguity in the concept of critique, which necessitates researching and scrutinizing the way of criticism and assessments of critique.
Research objective: The current research aimed to analyze the concepts hidden in critique to formulate the main elements of critique for measuring students’ design ability while explaining, examining, and criticizing the views obtained from interviews with experts.
Research method: This research is qualitative employing the grounded theory method and semi-structured interviews. By using the grounded theory, the data obtained from exploratory interviews with 21 experts in the field of teaching architectural design courses in Iranian universities were analyzed in three stages of open (initial) coding and extracting subcategories and categories. The semantic units including 312 headlines and open codes in the form of 42 propositions were conceptualized. Additionally, the subcategories consisted of 12 major propositions, and the categories including 3 cores were extracted in the next step.
Conclusion: The results of the research indicated that critique in the architectural education system is a concept beyond just correcting students’ works. It is based on the three levels of “essence”, “strategy”, and “management methods”.

Research objective: The present research aimed to identify criteria that lead to the maximum attraction of users and increase their presence in academic libraries while improving the quality of the architectural space of academic libraries.
Research method: Using a qualitative approach, this research was done by the grounded theory method. The data obtained from semi-structured interviews with 14 users of 5 academic libraries in Tehran were coded in the three phases of open, axial, and selective coding. 33 propositions were obtained as open codes. Axial codes were extracted from 20 main categories and finally, 5 cores were recognized as the selective codes.
Conclusion: Providing spaces for leisure time and relaxation, views of vegetation, diverse visual views, the possibility of group discussion, the environmental comfort in the study halls, considerations related to the privacy of visual connection between the women's spaces and other library spaces, spatial organization, functional quality of furniture and shelves (suitable furniture for long-term sitting and observation of ergonomics), and management and planning for human resources were determined as factors affecting the desirability of academic libraries.

Thus, designers and architects try to find the right solutions for designing environmentally compatible constructions. Here, unsuitable climatic conditions, especially the drying out of the Zayandehrud River (due to the increase in the temperature of the planet) have forced architects and planners to focus on climatic problems. The purpose of the study was to know how to use architecture primarily as a tool for achieving a plan to reduce energy consumption. Accordingly, the basic principles of native architecture were used for this purpose. The method was based on causal research and simulation. The tool used were Design Builder thermal simulator software. An example of a contemporary home was simulated in this software, and its thermal behavior was analyzed and compared. The energy consumption of a contemporary home was approximately 3.5 times that of a home with sustainability factors, whereas its area is almost twice as the home with sustainability factors.

The research undertaken here demonstrates that visual note-taking as one of teaching methods allows students to attach their own symbols to represent meaning. In light of visual notes, participants are engaged in more self-monitoring events than non-drawing participants. Additionally, the use of visual notes during the learning process of theoretical courses in the field of architecture is an effective strategy to enhance the educational performance of students. Referring to Bloom's Taxonomy, visual notes are considered an elaborative encoding strategy that plays a critical role in the memory performance. The statistical population of this study consisted of 59 undergraduate architecture students who attended the course of the History of World Architecture and were randomly clustered. By selecting two experimental and control groups, the present study utilized a posttest design. 39 people were allocated to the experimental group and 20 people to the control group. As well as lectures, learners in the experimental group were also required to describe the physical characteristics and geometric-spatial features of each monument and draw its design. The posttest-only control group design was used and the data were collected using a researcher-made test. The validity of the test was assessed based on the opinions of experts, and the reliability coefficient for 29 questions of the test was calculated using Cronbach's alpha to be 0.84. Data were analyzed using SPSS software and the student t-test. Bloom's Taxonomy helped to design a learning experience to identify, classify, and outline what students are expected to learn in this course. The results of the study show that the visual notes taken by students on architectural monuments has a statistically significant effect on the rate of learning and better performance in remembering, understanding, and explaining the physical and semantic features of historic monuments of the concepts taught by teachers in the classes of the History of World Architecture. Taking visual notes based on observation, recording, perception, connecting, analyzing, and encoding offers global education, through which learners are engaged in a deep cultural exchange rather than merely transacting.

Potentials, constraints, and programmed structures in each of the media contribute to form and represent a particular type of idea and the architectural designer develops different aspects of the design by representing the ideas through different media. Considering the design process as continuous representations of ideas through various media provides the necessary grounds for understanding the role of media in the design process. The present study specifically considers the patterns of using and integrating two important types of media, namely digital and analog media. Based on the theoretical studies, a conceptual model was developed aiming to examine, analyze, and classify the types of applications and the integration of digital and analog media. The hybrid media platform that results from the interaction of different types of media makes it possible to represent ideas through various media (according to the nature of the idea and the structure and potentials of the media) as well as the development of ideas (based on the strategies for developing and editing the ideas in the media). Additionally, the interaction of media helps the representation of ideas to be changed and interpreted by the designer on the one hand and to be pursued in another media context on the other hand. This places the designer's decisions beyond the specific constraints of a medium, in a position between subjectivity and intersubjectivity. The interactive use of digital and analog media leads to the juxtaposition or even the combination of deductive and computational strategies when representing ideas. Thus, human-machine thinking can be realized.
