Abstract – Certification in the field of radiation protection. This article traces the history of CEFRI from its creation in 1990 till the last regulatory evolutions. Is confirmed the approach of research of efficacy by a continuous action of administrative simplification and digitalization of processes, allied with a large competence of intervening people. Is reaffirmed the willingness of CEFRI, created by the profession, to keep the level of quality of certification which has proven for more than 20 years. There is no doubt that this certification helped the operators guarantee the security of operations in hostile environment.

Buried cables are often routed through short segments of conduit, and when this situation occurs,... more Buried cables are often routed through short segments of conduit, and when this situation occurs, the ampacity must be reduced or the cable will overheat as a result of the high thermal resistance created at the location of the conduit. This problem is examined for extruded cables by using a finite element heat transfer software program to determine the derating in ampacity that cables in conduits must experience in order to remain below a maximum conductor temperature. The derating factors are provided as a function of conduit length, soil resistivity, burial depth and number of cables in the conduit. The results show that once the length of conduit exceeds about 20 times its outer diameter, then the ampacity of the circuit must be reduced to the value that it would have if the entire length were buried in the conduit. Factors that result in lower cable ampacities, such as high soil thermal resistivity and deeper burial depths lead to larger derating factors.

Microplasticity is the plasticity whichexists locally in the locations of these stress concentra-tions, whereas the remainder of the material is in theelastic range. The initiation of fatigue cracks thus takes place in the areas where there is some microplasticity. The microplasticity threshold is the nominal stress inuniaxial symmetric loading from which microplasticityexists.
Applying uniaxial symmetric stress varying stepwise, tem- perature steps are observed for high enough frequencies. Reporting these temperature steps versus the stress ampli-tude, the curve obtained presents a break of its slopearound 75 MPa. By considerations of dislocation displa-cements, this stress is the microplasticity threshold. Thisthreshold has also been identified by studying the slopes of the previous graph.
