However, the manufacturing industry in Malaysia does not put any priority on ergonomics awareness, for an example, by not selecting a suitable height of workstation with operators’ anthropometry. Ergonomics so far has litle impact in Malaysia as majority of the Malaysian managers had believed that the ergonomics is not considered to be associated with performance. In a recent study on ergonomics awareness in Malaysian manufacturing industries by Mustafa et al., (2009), the researchers discovered that the main factors for the lack of ergonomics awareness were the lack of information/education/training and no pressure from the top management to initiate the ergonomics programmes. As a consequence, operators are exposed to various ergonomic risk factors and prone to have ergonomic injuries. The obje...

This paper analyses and compares the contribution of education and ICT (information and communication Technology) variables on economic growth. Multiple regression and unbalanced panel approach are applied to a sample of ten countries from 1976 to 2010. The results revealed that school life expectancy, primary and secondary school enrolment influence on Malaysia’s growth. Meanwhile, the number of internet users, primary and tertiary school enrolment influences growth of Muslim countries.

When |A| = |B| = n, the BTSP can be solved using polynomial space in O * (4 2n n log n) time by using the divide-and-conquer algorithm of Gurevich and Shelah (SIAM Journal of Computation, 16(3), pp.486-502, 1987). We adapt their algorithm for the bipartite case, and show an improved time bound of O * (4 2n), saving the n log n factor.

In the scenario that we study, a delivery truck is dispatched carrying a shipment of parcels to be delivered to customers. While the truck is following a predetermined route, a drone is charged with making the last-stretch delivery of a parcel from the truck to a customer's doorstep. Given a set of customers to be served and a set of rendezvous points where the drone can meet with the truck to pick up a parcel, we ask what the quickest way is of delivering all parcels to the end customers. We model this problem as a problem of finding a special type of a path in a graph of a special structure, and show that the graph problem is NP-hard even when all edge weights are restricted to be 1 or 2. Furthermore, we identify a special instance type that can be solved optimally in polynomial time. Finally, we propose a polynomial-time approximation algorithm for the graph problem in metric graphs, and show that its approximation ratio is bounded above by 2 in restricted metric graphs.

The significance of MAH grafted EPM (MAH-g-EPM) and compounding parameters were studied via the response surface methodology (RSM) using the two-level full factorial design. The MAH-g-EPM loading, mixing temperature, rotor speed and mixing time were selected as four independent variables. Cure characteristics of scorch time, cure time and maximum torque were selected as the responses. The statistical significance of all variables and their interactions during compounding were analysed using ANOVA. The degree of agreement between experimental results with those predicted by the statistical model was confirmed using constant of determination, R2 with values approaching ~0.99. It was observed in the results, that the incorporation of high loading (10 phr) of MAH-g-EPM has predominantly enhanced the scorch safety time of NR/EPDM blends, as well as increased the modulus of NR/...

However, various understanding towards the concept of OBE resulted to various attainment to Programme Outcome (PO) based on the Course Outcome (CO). Execution of the OBE may not be an easy matter as the mapping of the CO for each assessment may be mapped to multiple PO. This paper describe the analysis process of the CO and PO attainment for Product Design and Development subject, which is offered to all 2 nd year students of Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. Two methods are incorporated, (1) direct measurement, and (2) segregated measurement. The study identified that segregated measurement are more sensitive towards identifying the issues which affect attainment of CO and PO. Issues related to non-fulfilment of either CO or PO for Product Design and Development subject can be traced to lack of awareness towards product sustainability, synthesizing product design problems and student's attitude towards citing proper literature information throughout the development of their product.
