A new structure for an exclusive-OR (XOR) gate based on the resonant-tunneling high electron mobi... more A new structure for an exclusive-OR (XOR) gate based on the resonant-tunneling high electron mobility transistor (RTHEMT) is introduced which comprises only an RTHEMT and two FETs. Calculations are done by utilizing a new subcircuit model for simulating the RTHEMT in the SPICE simulator. Details of the design, input, and output values and margins, delay of each transition, maximum operating frequency, static and dynamic power dissipations of the new structure are discussed and calculated and the performance is compared with other XOR gates which confirm that the presented structure has a high performance. Furthermore, to the best of authors' knowledge, it has the least component count in comparison to the existing structures.

However, implementing such best practice experiences in an organization comes with some implementation challenges such as staff resistance, task conflicts and ambiguous orders. It means that implementing such framework is not easy and it can be caused of the organization destruction. This paper tries to describe overall view of ITIL framework and address major reasons on the failure of this framework’s implementation in the organizations

Many public and private IT organizations have good impressions and attempt to adopt ITIL into their own businesses. However, the ITIL implementation faces some issues by the target organizations to accept this as a complete framework. In addition, there are several steps to implement this framework in the target organizations. This paper tries at first to clarify each of these major issues and then suggest a mature guideline on the implementation of ITIL in the target organizations.

This paper tries to use an ITIL based solution to remove or abate those "key discrepancies" in the organizations based on using Model of Service Quality Gaps(S. Q. G) as a most known model to identify gaps in the organizations in perspective of service quality. In this study the following questions were answered: Which gap or gaps are in the organizations based on S.Q.G model? ; Which method is better to make such ITIL- based repository? ; And how CMDB can be used within S. Q. G model in order to remove or abate known gaps?

At the same time, there is no exemplar standard and /or framework for information technology (IT) governance for SMEs. This paper presents the main issues in implementing IT governance in SMEs. Firstly, it explains the definition of SMEs and their characteristics, secondly it discusses IT governance definition and its framework. Finally, some issues and approaches for ITG implementation in SMEs are described, and end with conclusion and future work.

The rabies virus enters the body from the area where the individual is bitten, and then the virus moves towards the brain and involves the nerves. During the years 2001-2011, there have been 73 reported rabies cases. About 50,000 reported human deaths are annually due to rabies. The actual number of human deaths due to rabies in Asia especially India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are more than these numbers, since there is no advanced surveillance system for disease control to determine the actual number of infected and fatal human cases. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) reports, more than 10 million people who are bitten by animals are annually treated by prophylactic treatment regimens for rabies, worldwide. This paper reports on a case of human rabies with the first disease manifestation (severe abdominal pain). The patient reported extensive biting on his left leg by a dog. He had a slight fever of 38.1°C. It has been recommended that a careful history should be taken from patients for diagnosis of rabies disease. A complete history should be taken from patients for diagnosis of disease, because rabies could be wrong with various diseases with atypical symptoms. because various diseases with atypical symptoms or long incubation periods can visit.

These deficits were partially reversed by the use of insulin. Due to the fact that exercise has positive effects on many physiological systems, including the central nervous system, the present study, evaluated the effects of treadmill running on spatial learning and memory in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. The exercise program was treadmill running at 17 meters per minute (m/min) at 0 • inclination for 40 minutes per day (min/day), 7 days/week, for 12 weeks. Experimental groups were: the control-rest, the control-exercise, the diabetes-rest and the diabetes-exercise. Spatial learning and memory was investigated by Morris water maze test in the rats after 12 weeks of diabetes induction and the exercise period. Our data showed that spatial learning and memory was significantly impaired in the diabetes-rest group with respect to the control-rest group. However, there were no differences between the other groups. The present results suggest that spatial learning and memory is affected under diabetic conditions and that treadmill running prevents these effects. The data correspond to the possibility that treadmill running is helpful in the prevention and alleviation of the cognitive decline in diabetes mellitus.

Previous studies have indicated that diabetes mellitus affects synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus leading to impairments in learning and memory. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of treadmill running on synaptic plasticity at dentate gyrus (DG) of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats.Experimental groups were the control, the diabetes and the diabetes-exercise groups. Long-term potentiation (LTP) in perforant path-DG synapses was assessed (by 400 Hz tetanization) in order to investigate the effect of exercise on synaptic plasticity. Field excitatory post-synaptic potential (fEPSP) slope and population spike (PS) amplitude were measured. With respect to the control group, fEPSP were significantly decreased in the diabetes group. However, there were no differences between responses of the diabetes-exercise group and the control. The present results suggest that LTP induction in the dentate gyrus is affected under diabetic conditions and that treadmill running prevents these effects. The data suggest that treadmill running protect against diabetes-induced decrease of learning ability and memory function of the hippocampus.

However, it is not clear if the impairments of synapses are pre- or post-synaptic or both. The aim of this study was to evaluate the extracellular basal levels of glutamate and GABA at dentate gyrus of anesthetized streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats, after 12 weeks of diabetes induction. Extracellular levels of glutamate and GABA were investigated by using the microdialysis technique coupled to high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescent detection. Experimental groups were the control group and the diabetes group. The results showed that glutamate levels were significantly decreased in diabetes group compared to the control group, while GABA levels showed no changes. The findings support the possibility that alterations in transmission may account, in part, for synaptic plasticity deficits induced in diabetes.

The aim of the present study was to clarify the effect of short-term and mid-term exercises on the self-administration of morphine in rats. Male Wistar rats were initially trained to receive small pellets of food by pressing the active lever in self-administration apparatus. Rats were divided into 4 groups: Saline, Morphine, Exercise 1 (11 days) and Exercise 2 (30 days). Their jugular vein was cannulated. The animals were placed in self-administration apparatus and allowed to self-administer morphine (0.5 mg per infusion all test groups) or saline (Saline group) during consecutive days, for 2 h/sessions. In the group 1 the rats were running before each session of self-administration and of group Exercise 2, 30 days before surgery as well as before each session. The pressing numbers of active and passive levers in each group and among different groups were compared. The number of active lever pressing of Morphine group was significantly higher than Saline group (p < 0.001). In Exercise 1 and Exercise 2 groups, the number of active lever pressing was significantly lower than Morphine group (p < 0.001). As exercise can activate many neurotransmitter systems involved in the addiction process and increase the release of endorphins, it is likely that could decrease the morphine self-administration in this experimental setup.
