We present the case of a pregnant woman with Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome with recurrent episodes of tachycardia, refractory to antiarrhythmic drug therapy, who underwent catheter ablation of a left lateral accessory pathway without the use of fluoroscopy.

For this analysis, we use a CGE model with a 2012 SAM. The Bolivian labor policy is characterized by compulsory increments in the private formal wage and an expanding labor force in the public services. A labor supply function allows migration between formality and informality and a reservation wage curve differentiates the nature of unemployment in the formal and the informal sector. The labor and wage policy does three things: 1) it promotes household consumption but reduces the GDP, decreases investment and growth, 2) it increases the rate of formality only at the expense of higher unemployment, and 3) it swells the primary sector to the detriment of the secondary sector. In the face of a decrease in commodity prices, Bolivia needs to make a correction of course in the labor and wage policy.

Likewise, agriculture is one of the five industries with the highest annual energy consumption in the US. Energy is a vital component in farms’ daily activities, which is involved in the harvesting of crops and the growth of livestock. Due to the current rapidly growing energy consumption trends, renewable energy sources have become a potential solution for energy generation. This paper focuses on the feasibility analysis of promoting the utilization of solar and wind energy generation to provide power for the operational activities involved in diverse agricultural processes through the performance of a geospatial analysis and an in-depth numerical analysis to study the patterns in the estimation of energy potential across the 254 counties located in the state of Texas. The gated lateral BJT which combined a metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) and a BJT was used as the main part of the device. The 4-amino-N-methylphthalimide (4-ANMP) dye as a kind of solvatochromic dye with charge-transfer (CT) characteristic was fabricated on the surface of the device as the sensing membrane. Benzene gas as the sensing target in this study and the results shows that the proposed device can be used for benzene gas detection successful.

Placemaking & Augmented Reality Augmented Reality and Placemaking: A Theoretical Exploration Augmented reality is a technology that has the potential to greatly impact current approaches placemaking. Place is an abstract term that refers to the ability of a physical space to have a deeper, more subjective level of meaning for an individual or group of people. Traditional placemaking strategies can impact physical space but their adaptability is often limited by cultural changes or local needs. Augmented reality is a reactive technology through which people are able to manipulate their environments to more closely reflect personal values and communicate ideas. This paper explores current trends and potential applications of augmented reality in the placemaking process.

The movement achieved a milestone when the community achieved self-determination through a federal court ruling. The recognition of self-determination was just the beginning of the real challenge to implement a cultural and political project. Fieldwork was conducted in Cherán that utilised ethnographic research and interviews as methods to explore the function of the town’s governance. The findings showed that two crucial elements support the Cherán’s democracy and exercise of self-determination. First is organised distrust, in which any citizen could serve a watchdog function to exact accountability in the governance structure. This distrust prevents the concentration of power to a...

We hypothesize that sales behavior and trade openness and are related to this behavior. We present empirical evidence to argue that firm informalization is a strategy conducted to face a downturn in sales. However, the country level of trade openness as a proxy for the average level of managerial abilities of firms reduces the impact of a drop in sales on firm informalization. For this purpose, we draw upon data from 636 firms in 12 developing countries from World Bank surveys and apply a simultaneous equation framework with a dichotomous dependent variable.

The analysis of the photons that travel through the sample is based on the program Monte Carlo Multi-Layered with some modifications that consider a Gaussian beam as initial source of light. Position, directional cosines and weight of photons exiting the turbid media are used to propagate them through an optical system. As a mean of validation of the program, we selected a typical optical system for measurement of collimated transmittance. Therefore, several tests were carried out to find the optical system that gives the theoretical collimated transmittance at different values of the optical properties of the turbid media. Along this validation, the optimal experimental configuration is found. Using this results, a comparison between the simulated optimal configuration and the experimental setup was done, by using a colloidal suspension as a turbid media.
