As the visibility level in low contrast image features is very less, several image enhancement strategies have been introduced with spatial transformations to enhance image qualityfor improved visualization. Nowadays, image processing plays an important role in the analysis of a patient’s health status and has become extremely popular in medical areas for a wide range of clinical assessments. Generally, medical images contain several complex areas and thereby, few pre-processing approaches are applied to reduce the challenges that occur during different phases of the CAD system. Furthermore, because of external noise interferences, poor illuminating settings as well as other imaging device limitations, the clinical diagnosis becomes a challengi...

The ARM-based irrigation solution consists of a Solar Tracking System, Wireless Information Unit (WIU), WSN and Remote Access. The Solar Tracking System utilizes maximum solar energy by using Light Dependent Resistor(LDR) to track the sun. The electric energy produced is stored in the battery which powers the ARM processor. Wireless Information Unit will collect the sensor information from Wireless Sensor Network through the use of Wi-Fi. The system monitors soil-moisture and controls the flow of water using a solenoid valve depending upon the set threshold. In the tank, Ultra Sonic sensor identifies the water level controlled by the WIU. An Android application helps the farmer to monitor the water flow and soil moisture remotely. The proposed water management methodologies for agriculture optimizes ...

A parallel hybrid topology is chosen for the implementation. In this topology, a voltage-controlled Class-AB linear amplifier stage and a current-controlled switching converter stage operate in parallel. A hysteretic current control scheme is employed to control the operation of the switching converter. Block-level implementation of the ETPS is done using Simulink 2017b, continuous mode simulation. Simulations are performed using a sinewave input envelope signal = 1.94+ 1.2 sin(ω∙t). The input frequency varied from 1MHz to 60MHz. As the input frequency is increased, the ETPS moves from the linear to the non-linear region of operation. During the transition, the slew rates of the load current and the switching current match at a particular input frequency of 2MHz while the efficiency peaks. The maximum obtained efficiency while tracking the sinewave input signal is...

Digital image inpainting is a technique of restoring large removed /damaged regions of an image w... more Digital image inpainting is a technique of restoring large removed /damaged regions of an image with the data from the surrounding pixels of the removed region. The issue of image restoration with inpainting techniques occurs commonly in computer vision/image processing when unwanted objects have to be removed from images, for filling cracks in photographs, etc. Digital image inpainting approach is an active field of research in two significant applications of wireless communication: image compression and image recovery from a damaged image due to errors in a wireless channel. This work presents a brief survey of different image inpainting techniques and their contributions to different wireless communication applications.

Basically shift registers are built by flip flops but here flip flops are replaced by pulsed latches to reduce area power consumption. The problem of timing in latches is removed by using the compound non overlie clock signals which are delayed instead of standard clock pulse. A 256 bit shift registers are designed in cadence virtuoso using gpdk 180nm technology and VDD=1.8v and the SSASPl latch is compared with other latches.

El... more Electric vehicles are in demand in recent days due to depleting conventional energy resources. Electric vehicles which are environmental friendly are set to increase on road in coming days. The Electric vehicles which consist of electric drive systems are made up of electric motors, inverters and batteries. There is a need to increase their output quality while decreasing their size and cost. The multilevel inverter plays a vital role in improving the quality of the output voltage of the inverter. This paper presents the implementation of Elliptical Phase Disposition Pulse Width Modulation (EPD PWM) technique for higher level of Cascaded H-Bridge Multi Level Inverter (CHBMLI). The performance of 5, 7 and 9-level CHBMLI with proposed EPD PWM scheme is analyzed for three-phase RL-load. The simulation results prove that the voltage %THD reduces from 28.09 to 12.85 to 9.69 and current %THD reduces from 25.58 to 10.22 to 9.42 as the number of inverter output level increases from 5-7-9 level respectively. The simulation is carried out on MATLAB/ SIMULINK platform and the results were compared with conventional method to validate the proposed scheme. The simulation results prove that the novel EPD-PWM technique can be used to effectively control the CBHMLI.

An information-carrying signal may be compressed by removing redundancy from the signal. In a lossless compression system statistical redundancy is removed so that the original signal can be perfectly reconstructed at the receiver. We present an image compression algorithm that integrates a novel technique for filling-in the missing information in an image. Firstly, the information in image regions is removed to reduce the data. The remaining data is transmitted and is used at the receiver’s side for recovering the removed regions. At the decoder, to retrieve removed regions, an inpainting method is applied using the information extracted from the received image.

A wheelchair is developed with a BCI system to help the below neck paralyzed. In such patients, brain fails to interact with the external environment.. A Brain Controlled Wheelchair provides mobility to locked-in patients with the help of BCI in a safe and efficient way. In this proposed work, the EEG signals are detected from the brain through the connected headset. The patient makes the decision for movement and blinks his/her eyes accordingly. Once the decision is made for the movement, the eye blinks are detected and a signal corresponding to that particular direction is sent to the controller via bluetooth. The received signals are analyzed and moves the wheelchair accordingly. Wheelchair prototype is constructed using DC motors fitted onto a platform using L brackets, screws and nuts. The microcontroller, bluetooth module and ultrasonic...

Based on the noise values, impulse noise can be classified as Fixed Valued Impulsive Noise or Salt and Pepper Noise(SPN) and Random Valued Impulsive Noise(RVIN). In this paper, an inpainting algorithm is presented based on Directional Weighted Median(DWM) Filter to denoise both the noises caused due to image transmission over multipath fading channel. The algorithm diffuses median value of pixels from the exterior area into the inner area and thus preserves the edges and fine details. The random valued impulsive noise and salt and pepper noise due to wireless channel modeled are simulated using MATLAB channel objects. The detection algorithm combined with the image correction based on DWMF shows better performance in terms of Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR) and Mean Absolute Error(MAE).

The image is transmitted over the channel block by block. We can enhance the compression performance by intelligently choosing blocks from the image with non-relevant information in it. By removing these small blocks, we can reconstruct the lost data using correlation between the lost blocks and its neighbors. This is automatically done in a fast way by using the boundary information, thereby allowing to simultaneously fill-in numerous regions containing completely different structures and surrounding backgrounds. This paper addresses the issue of performing in painting on the decompressed image to fill in the missing information. The effectiveness of this approach is demonstrated with various compression factors. Quantitative analysis of the desired compression ratio and the quality of the restored image is conducted.

We can enhance the compression performance by not sending the significant portion of the image. This can be done by intelligently choosing the blocks from the image with non-relevant information in it. By removing these blocks, size of the image is reduced and the amount of bits needed to transmit the image can be significantly reduced. The removed block’s information can be recovered by using the correlation between the blocks and its neighbors. This is done automatically and in a fast way with the boundary information of the lost blocks, thereby allowing to simultaneously fill-in numerous regions containing completely different structures and surrounding backgrounds. This paper addresses the issue of performing inpainting on the decompressed image to fill-in the missing information. The effectiveness of this approach is demonstrated with various compression factors.

By intentionally (and automatically) dropping image blocks and using filling-in approach, the performance of the compression ratio can be improved. The approach removes only partial regions in the image and generates a smaller image of same size as the original. This provides the condensed description of an image. Intuitively, the approach at decoder side restores large dropped regions utilizing the correlations between image patches. Thus, patch manipulation technique enhances the compression ratio of still images by recovering the damaged portions of an image.
