This could challenge the additional requirements in precision agriculture technologies. The electronic and mechanic fields are made a revolution in monitoring the agriculture fields introducing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The proposed work introduces a multi-rotor drone system which comes with a solution that can exterminate the perilous situations faced by our farmers. The current study, introduced a low cost, lightweight drone system which can operate at low altitude operating conditions during the flight over the crop field. This drone system has combined the implementation of various mechatronic components like flight controller (FC), brushless motors (BLDC), electronic speed control (ESC), global positioning system (GPS), telemetry radio link, and radio-controlled transmitter and receiver. The motion of the drone system is done over the crop filed as per the one planned path using “APM Planner” application. It is controlled with the help of a MAVlink protocol which is an open-source, point-to-point networking protocol which carries telemetry. The communication between multi-rotor and ground control station (GCS) is done using MAVLink networking protocol. The drone can be controlled remotely by sending and receiving data through the MAVlink protocol to the drone control modules: flight controller (ATmega2560 processor) autopilot and the APM Planner application. With the availability of above mentioned new technologies, it is possible to observe the water stress management, crop management, crop harvesting, and crop protection. These drones have great potential due to its flexibility in handling to increase crop productivity. This model developed that brings technological and economic support to small farmers.

The cuckoo-search algorithm is based on the parasitic behavior of the cuckoo, and the BA is based on the echolocation behavior of the bats. Design/methodology/approach The developed algorithm starts by sensing the obstacles in the environment using ultrasonic sensor. If there are any obstacles in the path, the authors apply the developed algorithm to find the optimal path otherwise reach the target point directly through diagonal distance. Findings The developed algorithm is implemented in MATLAB for the simulation to test the efficiency of the algorithm for different environments. The same path is considered to implement the experiment in the real-world environment. The ARDUINO microcontroller along with the ultrasonic sensor is considered to obtain the path length and time of travel of the robot to reach the goal point. Originality/value In this paper, a new hybrid algorithm has been developed to find the optimal path of the mobile robot using cuckoo search and BAs. The developed algorithm is tested with the real-world environment using the mobile robot.

In precision agriculture, crop protection drones have great potential due to its flexibility in handling to increase crop productivity. However, the multi-rotor aerial system working capability depends on the required thrust to be produced in order to lift the system from the ground position. This work proposes simulation and theoretical static thrust calculations to develop an autonomous multi-rotor system, which is capable of lifting the components, those are helpful for precision farming. This work starts with an analytical approach of the thrust equation and its influences at various parameters explained. The motion equations are derived using the kinetic energy, disk actuator theory and momentum theory. The thrust is calculated using the parameters, motor specifications, propeller dimensions and constant. If the calculated thrust is twice to the total weight of the multi-rotor system, then the system has the ability to fly comfortably toward the crop agriculture field. The calculation is done for different propellers and chosen the best one. The chosen theoretical result validated using a static thrust calculator in a Web site from “gobrushless.com.” The relative error between the simulated and theoretical results has shown only 2% of the difference.

Especially, in the developing countries like India, over 70% of the rural people depends upon the agriculture fields. The agriculture fields faces dramatic losses due to the diseases. These diseases came from the pests and insets, which reduces the productivity of the crops. Pesticides and fertilizers are used to kill the insects and pests in order to enhance the crop quality. The WHO (World Health Organization) estimated as one million cases of ill effected, when spraying the pesticides in the crop filed manually. The Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)aircrafts are used to spray the pesticides to avoid the health problems of humans when they spray manually. UAVs can be used easily, where the equipment and labors difficulty to operate. This paper reviews briefly the implementation of UAVs for crop monitoring and pesticide spraying.

Contract documents are composed of executable items by the contractor from employer and is agreed by both parties for possible implementation per the agreement. One of the most efficient methods in drafting contract document is the efforts used to ensure contractor is well guided by the environmental management plans (EMP) which forms part of the contract. This is to ensure the surrounding communities are protected and simultaneously sustained by the tangible projects like building, roads and bridges, etc. Through recent COVID-19 pandemic that bombarded the world in less than a week or two, kept millions indoors and thousands in hospitals and graves, this will be one of the major issues that may be considered for possible inclusion to avoid undue hiccups in the future. The results of these items to be included and others on next set of conform contract amendments to the bill or considered for possible execution. The data or results when executed will yield positive outcome on the technical side on the benefit of procurement process. this will also watch and guide contractors on the importance of the pandemic experienced so far and take as a precautionary measure to protect the personals on site and thus avoid spread of the virus and in emergency. Sustainability of the environment and other surrounding properties within the vicinity of project site is paramount important. Thus, the EMP comes to play a vital role in ensuring all things found through the zone of influence must be protected and sustained. Thus, per the contract agreement, all are protected and sustained but at the expense of the employer. For the COVID-19 pandemic to be incorporated into the contract agreement, it will certainly improve the document to more proper and standard in considering all emergency measures into consideration plus the safety of the construction works on site who are vulnerable by airborne disease may use masks or hand sanitizers not only for COVID-19 but for safe health practices. Thus, this will be used in avoiding and addressing, social responsibility, environmental sustainability, economic improvement and effective healthcare system including immediate issue which may be imminent ahead in the future.
