While it agrees as crucial the need to address cultural as well as the historical injustices, the Bangsamoro requires a development framework that will enable it to be fully integrated in societal culture and the international community. Principled governance and democratic inclusion are viewed as critical to maintain the integrity of the region. But the problem of the Bangsamoro is not just political. It must prepare itself, as it does right now, towards a shared future where it can respond to the realities of a neoliberal economic order. It is argued that a human-centered approach to development is important to sustain the peace and social cohesion in the region.
