The text has been the subject of numerous interpretations in various perspectives, among others: natural (pastoral), cult and mystical, allegorical or theological. It also stimulated quite provocative radical interpretations as it is a text one cannot go by indifferently. The aim of this paper is to analyze briefly a selected Sacrum/profanum metaphor via cognitive approach and indicate there is no dualism but rather mutual overlapping of those two spheres.

The experience described by a Carmelite monk and mystic John of the Cross as "dark night" requires a new scientific panorama with reference to contemporary mental disorders. It constitutes a highly complex physical, mental and spiritual phenomenon. Therefore, it cannot be defined without in-depth, credible, responsible and well-justified interdisciplinary research. In this paper, we propose a new model of diagnosis, therapy and treatment of the "liminal spaces" states regarded as depression with the use of quantitative and qualitative mixed-methods and tools in social sciences and humanities, including digital humanities and applied linguistics. Further research may and should lead to a common model developed also with medical scientists. We also see a great and very promising potential of our model developed together with the achievements of medical informatics, narrative and translational medicine and translational sciences in general.

Translating Sacrum with the Use of Liturgical Books as Intralingual Parallel Texts. A single case study of "Rabbuni"., 2022

The bestselling book ever remains the greatest challenge to translators. The book so packed with female characters, both ordinary and prophetesses, visionaries, even protagonists, still lacks female contribution to biblical translation. There is a huge gap that calls for female translators and interpreters to contribute, so that female biblical characters can speak with their own voice bringing the sense of a woman and her unique human and Divine perception. From times immemorial dissatisfaction with a certain reality has always launched the pursuit of an improved and more satisfactory solution. The author of the paper has been appointed and anointed to a very prestigious function in the Catholic Church, namely to be a female lector to read the Lectionary and the Prayer of the Faithful during liturgical celebrations of the Holy Mass. In this service she has been frequently dissatisfied with the mistranslations, or entire lack of translation of the original concepts. The strongest disagreement occurred vividly in the case of “Rabbuni” as spontaneously expressed by Mary Magdalene, the very first witness to the key event in Christianity in the New Testament, i.e. the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. In her personal quest for more quality in modern biblical translation, the author first spotted and presented in her former publication some potential credible parallel texts, i.e. the documents of West Christian female mystics, called Brides of Christ (Łukiewicz-Kostro, 2022: 296). Now, an inspiration has come to use the Lectionary and the Prayer of the Faithful as intralingual parallel texts. Such a selection guarantees the desired credibility of the research because liturgical texts are never selected ad hoc, nor are they coincidental, but always carefully chosen by the appointed Catholic Church Authorities. This way, the improved new translation cannot be accused of being heretical or risky. For the methodology, the author applied the already well established mixed-method case-study analysis with their credible and responsible research tools, in order to reach evo lution, rather than revolution, as this text needs to bring innovation with respect to the tradition and centuries of previous scholarly efforts worldwide. An experimental linguistic case-study combined with a creative transposition method using intralingual parallel texts is conducted. Finally, a further development is suggested for global biblical translation projects on the Name of God with the use of other liturgical, religious and non-religious intralingual and interlingual parallel texts, bi-texts and para-texts combined.

The bestseller disseminated worldwide on an enormous scale is a powerful mind-shaping book with huge global impact. As a very complex text it is a demanding task to translators.
The goal of this paper is to challenge the untranslated “Rabbuni” as Mary Magdalene addresses Resurrected Jesus (J, 20:17) at the empty tomb. To the best of my knowledge “Rabbuni”, or a few other variations, has never been translated to fully represent the original concept. The author is proposing a break-through mixed interdisciplinary approach, the subject
of her PhD thesis in progress, by exploring Jesus and Mary from various angles: as historical figures, literary protagonists and social actors in a very specific cultural and religious environment and their exceptional relationship. “Rabbuni” is juxtaposed with specific parallels in all the scenes in the NT when Mary meets Jesus. The application of broad parallels from authentic source documents by female Christian mystics and other religious texts like prayers, litanies, songs, etc. are also be suggested.
Due to the limited scope of the paper, the author aims just to inspire the academic environment and reflect briefly on the complexity of the task of filling the translation gaps, highlight the potential of social sciences and humanities for biblical translation with the use of mixed research methods and tools.
The result of my proposal has a promising potential for further projects on translating the untranslated both in the Old and New Testament and other Holy Books, with the use of historical, specific and broad text parallels from the records of mystics and prophets
