The idea of writing or editing a book remains always in our mind. Our students come from semi-urban background and not very fluent in English reading, writing and speaking. English is not just a Second language to them, but it is completely a foreign language to the rural background pupils. So, we research innovative techniques to make them familiar. This continuous research motivates us to edit a book on the topic. We can well see the potential of the book as it is not just about the ‘Teaching’ of English but basically about ‘Learning’ English as such. But of course it will be very helpful for ELT, per se.
The book making is a long process and it needs a careful study of area, topics and research methodologies, along with very intensive and extensive genuine research work before we start. The very first thing which struck our mind was to choose the topic which could be beneficial for students and teachers both. Our undergraduate students, who actually lack Basic English speaking, reading and writing standard, gave us many new topics to write. They and their problems motivated us to collect opinions of our fellow colleagues on the wider perspectives of the chosen topic and edit a book on the subject. We have endeavored to cover many areas which need to be given emphasize when we teach or learn English. Our main focus is to give tricks and useful tips to enhance and learn English as a second language.

In India, we have large classrooms with more students coming from non-English speaking background. Their economic condition is not favourable and schools and institutes are not really equipped for teaching language properly. Students learn English as a Subject from the beginning of their schooling. This makes their understanding of language poor. English has to be taught as a language, not as a subject. A language can be learnt by three genres: Reading, Writing and Speaking. Mainly the genre that effects is Pronunciation. Students learn to speak all by their own without expert speaking aid. Teachers also face problems of large classrooms so they can't give attention to each student and their pronunciation.Literature has its sublimity whereas language as a responsibility. Language teaching is not only for teaching, learning or passing the examination but for communicative purposes. The paper is...

The present paper is a study of pronunciation, its problems and some good suggestions are also recommended. The paper also focuses on writer’s meeting and learning experience with Pron chart maestro. It has become drastically evolutionary and three dimensional. Technologically we are advancing day by day but we must remember that technology has to be state of heart instead of state of Art. So, people will accept it easily and heartily. In this way, an engineer has to be a poet and a poet has to be an engineer. Among all the genre of language writing, poetry make all of us closer to heart. So, why not make blending of technology and poetry, a way of language literacy. The present paper is focussed on use of poetry is language teaching as my personal experiences are really very fruitful.

To understand a text, one must understand the words that represent the ideas or concepts. The role that vocabulary knowledge plays in second and foreign language acquisition has long been neglected. However, vocabulary is currently receiving increased emphasis in the language teaching curriculum. Vocabulary should be ubiquitous in our instruction. Vocabulary is central to English language teaching because without sufficient vocabulary students cannot understand others or express their own ideas. Students often instinctively recognize the importance of vocabulary to their language learning. It has to underlie and infuse every sphere of learning, including every element of literacy (reading, listening, discussing and writing) and every content domain. Words give power of speaking and writing. They give the ability to share thoughts and ideas. Written words can help tune in to the thoughts of people who lived long ago or far away. Words also hel...
