The problem lies in the length of time it takes to make holes in the key housing on the aluminium... more The problem lies in the length of time it takes to make holes in the key housing on the aluminium door frame profile using a drilling machine, manual grinding, and filing. The aim of the study was to obtain a prototype for a portable door housing key hole punch. The method of making a press tool for a key housing punch on an Aluminum door frame profile in a portable manner includes the design of the frame and the shape of the hole, making a prototype of a portable punching mechanism frame, making a punch with a wire Electric Discharge Machine (EDM) in the exact shape of the key housing hole, testing the punching on different door frame profile thickness and lubrication variations, as well as data analysis. The test results show that (1) the sharp edge angle of the 3-degree punch is too small which makes it easy to break after the punch is used more than 20 times; and (2)The average punch force resulting from perforation without lubrication compared to oil lubrication decreased by about 0.5% and between with oil lubrication compared to grease lubrication decreased by about 4%.

The output of this tensile test is in the form of a tensile force table (F), elongation (∆L), stress, strain and stress strain graph. The method for recording tensile force data (F) is done by connecting directly using a sonic scale type sp-320 and integrating it into a computer with data acquisition so that it can display a graph..

On a conventional lathe, the process of forming the outer radius on the workpiece (cylinder) can ... more On a conventional lathe, the process of forming the outer radius on the workpiece (cylinder) can be directly carried out by installing a jig and fixture to facilitate the small-scale machining process that is applied to the tool holder (carriage) instead of the tool position. it is chisel and the holder is removed. Field surveys are needed to support the data collection process, such as the dimensions of the tool post and the distance of the feeding axis of the Maximat V-13 lathe. From this data, it will be correlated in the form of a jig and fixture design with material selection as a comparison. By involving jigs and fixtures in the practicum process, it can provide additional insight regarding work systems and time efficiency in the production process. So that it can help practitioners / students to recognize some of the supporting parts / components in the overall arrangement of jigs and fixtures.

Pembentukan logam menggunakan deformasi plastis untuk mengubah bentuk benda kerja. Deformasi atau perubahan bentuk dihasilkan dari penggunaan tool yang biasanya disebut die (cetakan). Cetakan tersebut memberikan tegangan yang melebihi kekuatan yield logam (plastis). Logam selanjutnya berubah bentuk menjadi bentuk yang sesuai dengan geometri cetakan. Pembetukan flens pada lubang disebut hole-flanging. Hal ini dimaksudkan untuk memperkuat bagian tepi dari lubang atau untuk tujuan membuat ulir. Untuk pelat logam yang tipis proses ini bisa dibuat bersamaan dengan proses piercing. Proses hole-flanging ini berfungsi untuk menyediakan luasan pengikatan pada sambungan-sambung pipa.
