The article presents result from quantitative study, conducted at Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Madhya Pradesh, India. Employees working in SMEs interviewed to study the effects of organization’s international orientation, marketing mix standardisation, financial capabilities, and international performance. Responses were analysed using factor analysis. The factors were in line with the earlier studies. In particular, India experiencing balance of payment deficits, in this connection government have to increase the international activities of their SMEs. These results boost economic growth cut unemployment and create potential multinational enterprise in the future. Research findings have insightful implication intended for academicians and industry people. Keywords: Small Medium Enterprise, Internationalization, Employees, India

In the present study, authors have reviewed the intense literature to extract all possible dimensions of motivation, having direct and indirect impact on motivation techniques. This has examined the multidimensionality of motivation from the existing literature and present a conceptual framework based on it, and it is experienced that various motivation techniques (discussed in this study) are having a positive impact on both employee satisfaction and the quality of performance in the organization; however, the model needs to be validated using quantitative measures. In order to study the various issues highlighted in this paper related to employee motivation, a large body of literature mainly from different journals have been incorporated. To make the study more current only those studies were included which were published in the last two decades. In past research papers few dimensions o...

Ego state model basically consist of three ego states namely parent, adult and child ego state developed by Eric Berne which specifies communication between the persons under the influence of same or different ego state. In this study we analyzed behaviour of employees in different ego state and significant impact of their attitude and behaviour on their job performance. This study reveals that each employee has all three ego states but it switch from one ego state to another, it‟s all depend on person‟s comfort with any ego state for a particular period of time and the type of attitude he/she inherit under any ego state. In any organization the anger and happiness is the result of communication between the employees under different ego state. Effective communication among the employees is possible only when a employee in a one ego state e...

The novelty of this study lies in its theoretical framework where authors have made an attempt to come up with a construct having dimensions that directly or indirectly influences employee motivation.

The key objective is to find key strategic and operational decision-making dimensions for developing effective lean manufacturing environment in a tyre manufacturing organization. Design/methodology/approach -This research is empirical in nature where the opinions of a group of experts of an Indian tyre manufacturing firm were consulted to formulate an interpretive structural model (ISM) of the critical success factors of lean manufacturing implementation in a tyre manufacturing organization. The authors have developed an Excel-based template for quantitative assessment of lean performance indicators on the basis of feedback from the operational staff.

This paper aims to show how lean Six-Sigma methodology can be used to tackle the specific issues like defects reduction. Design/methodology/approach -The management took this problem on top priority as it is eroding their brand value and financial performance. A Mumbai-based lean Six-Sigma consulting group was approached to tackle the issue. One of the authors, who is pursuing research on determinants of successful lean manufacturing implementation in Indian industries, joined this project as a part of his field study and he spent considerable time in discussing and observing the issue with people of different hierarchical levels of the company. Lean Six-Sigma methodologies were incorporated and the problem was evaluated with root-cause analysis. This case is formulated on the basis of the initial findings of the study in an Indian tyre manufacturing organisation keeping the actual name of the company in disguise. Findings -On the basis root-cause analysis of the radial tyre manufacturing process, it was found that presence of foreign particles in the manufacturing environment, under-ageing and over-ageing of tyre components, and inefficient bead winding process, were the main culprits of defects. It was confirmed that lean Six-Sigma methodology can serve as a major tool to reduce defects in the tyre manufacturing process in India. Originality/value -This paper provides some key insights to the successful adoption of lean Six-Sigma tools in an Indian industrial environment, where lean practices are still in the very nascent stage and very little literature is available in this context.

Emerging clusters are very common in India. These emerging clusters facilitates competitive advantages and growth of the economy. The papers aims to develop a framework that prioritizes potential alternatives and suggest a critical indicators of intellectual capital (IC). A Delphi-AHP-TOPSIS methodology is used and the study is carried out in SMEs manufacturing unit located in central northern part of India. Here, Delphi method is an iterative process and is used in order to analysis of techniques and brainstorming for problems, opportunities and a novel consistent intellectual capital scale is developed. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used to determine the weight of indicators as criteria and technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) is used to obtain final ranking of IC indicators. The proposed framework can assist managers to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of IC indicators. This framework also enables the strategic decision makers to better understand the complex relationships of the relevant IC indicators in decision-making process. Strategic decision makers may utilize the findings of this paper as base for optimal investment of funds in IC indicators. Due to the wide range application of Delphi-AHP-TOPSIS, it has been an important research subject for many researchers with context to SMEs.
