The proposed converter includes the off-on line concept, which avoids the continuous charging and discharging of the battery as it occurs in typical on-line UPS.

The converter processes the power less than once, resulting in an efficient design. Although the current is not sinusoidal, the proposed converter complies with the Standard IEC 1000-3-2 about low frequency harmonics for a medium power stage. Additionally a fast regulation at the output voltage is obtained due to the fact that sliding mode control is used. Analysis, simulation and experimental results of the converter are presented.

To regulate multiple outputs it is possible with multiple converters, but the system becomes expensive; there are converters with multiple outputs, but traditionally just one is regulated, it is difficult to regulate tightly the other outputs. In this paper is presented a method to obtain a fully-regulated multiple-output converter based on the flyback converter, the system results easy to control and just one magnetic element is used. Operation and experimental results are presented.

Different topologies have been studied in order to able reduce the number of stages and employed controllers. In this paper a different electronic ballast, which is based on the 'Z' source inverter is analyzed, as a result of this the system becomes a single stage and high power factor electronic ballast. Operation, analysis, and experimental results are presented.

Beginning with the traditional full bridge buck inverter; followed by two different inverter approaches, the boost and buck boost ones. This last two converters have the property of produce an output voltage higher or lower than the input voltage additionally to its inversion capability, which is a desired characteristic to some applications.

Their use depends on the application. Other possibility for the DC/AC conversion is the multilevel configuration, and the most analyzed is the VSI. In this paper a multilevel current source inverter (MCSI) is proposed. The operation, analysis and implementation are presented; also simulation and experimental results are shown.

Its main feature is the ability to invert and boost at a single stage. Io this paper, the implementation of a recently proposed sliding-mode-based, nonlinear controller for the boost inverter is presented. Unlike previously proposed controllers, the control law used here only depends on the input and the output voltages making unnecessary the inductor current measurement This fact results in a cost reduction, an easier design, and the overall system reliability is improved.

High efficiency, few components, and low voltage and current stress on switches are features desired in these kinds of converters. In this paper a different dc/dc converter to increase the input voltage is proposed; two pairs of coupled magnetically coils are charged in parallel and discharged in series with the source, this permits to offer a high gain with few components, but also at good efficiency. The steady-state analysis of the topology is shown. But also experimental results and simulation are presented to illustrate the behavior of the system for an output power of 200 W. The system efficiency is around 95% at hard switching.
