Geographical information systems (GIS) enable the storage and manipulation of raster and vector data based upon the spatial relationships of individual features. While GIS predominantly rely on the visual medium for the presentation of data, the ability to store and manipulate spatial relationships offers opportunities to present data using alternative modalities such as speech, sound and haptic feedback. A group of eight blind participants took part in a task driven experiment using two interface designs. The effectiveness of each interface design was assessed through task performance and user experience questionnaires. The results obtained suggest that interface design, data presentation and the use of multiple modalities has the potential to enhance accessibility, usability and support spatial cognition.

Wireless sensor networks are widely used in application domains such as security and inspection, environmental monitoring, warfare, and other situations especially where immediate responses are required such as disasters and medical emergency. Whenever there is a growth there are challenges and to cope with these challenges strategies and solutions must be developed. This paper discusses the recently addressed issues of data aggregation through presenting a comparative study of different research work done on minimizing delay in different structures of wireless sensor networks. Finally we introduce our proposed method to minimize both delay and power consumption using a tree based clustering scheme with partial data aggregation.

Billions of people are using social networking websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn and generating huge amounts of data every day. Teaching,-particularly in higher education, has become more student-centered triggering the need to employ social media technologies where students can be linked to their institutions to have access to teaching material besides news and announcements. Analyzing the behavior of the users on social media is a complex task. In this paper, we present empherical analyze of some of the important aspects of user's behavior on social networking highlighting many interesting aspects of this type of user's behavior. This paper is a first part of a series of research work investigating the implementation of mobile learning through the use of social media technologies in teaching and learning in higher education sector.
