Further possibilities are still being expedited especially in the area of strength of shear stud connectors and factors affecting the same. And a numerous papers are available on experimental analysis conducted by push-out tests among which a few are reviewed and compared in this paper emphasizing the mechanical shear connectors (headed steel stud anchors). An all at a glance canvas is provided here for the papers describing push out tests conducted for determining the shear strength of stud shear connectors and factors affecting them like stud diameter, stud height, stud spacing (longitudinal & transverse), stud layout (in-line & staggered), stud positioning (favourable & unfavourable), position of stud with respect to the trough position (strong & weak), properties of stud (type, material, strength), position of reinforcement mesh and quantity of reinforcement, dimension of concrete slab/deck and grade of concrete and steel section, loading and support conditions. Being experimental, the results obtained varies and some are hardly reliable. Detailed observations and conclusions are made on those test results.
