Hence, English is used as a medium of instruction in many higher education institutions in the Philippines. Despite its prevalence, many Filipinos, including college students, are still anxious when utilizing it in communication. In research undertakings, little is being discussed about this type of language anxiety in the Philippine context. To bridge this research gap, the aim of this study, hence, is to explore the English language anxiety among Filipino college students in state universities and colleges in Metro Manila, Philippines. Data were obtained from 37 college students through purposive sampling. Then, the data were analyzed using thematic analysis. This research explores the perceptions and experiences of online business owners concerning the role of social media in their businesses. Narrative inquiry was used as a research design. Qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews online. The study used purposive sampling to identify people who are willing to share their perspectives and experiences. The results show that business owners attribute the increase of their consumers&#39; reach and consequently growth in sales to social media. While business owners believe in the essential engagement of social media in businesses, they offer a caveat to be observant of the comments inputted by the people who interact with their online business presence because they can make or break the business reputation.

This study specifically tested if there were significant differences on the five work values between Generation X and Generation Y. The survey instrument was adapted from Filipino Work Values Scale which has been found to measure Filipino work values validly and reliably. It was revealed that respondents from both generations rated all five work values as very important. A statistical test also shown that there was no significant difference in each work value between the two generation groups being studied. The main recommendation of this study is to boost staff development programs leaning toward strengthening work values directed to both generation groups. Values at Work: An Evaluation on the Work Values of Filipino Secondary School Teachers

In any work setting, work values play an indispensable role in the success of an employee. Simila... more In any work setting, work values play an indispensable role in the success of an employee. Similarly, in the arena of education, the success of a teacher in his or her endeavor can be attributed on work values. The current study, which employs a descriptive research approach, builds on existing scholarly investigation on work values in the education industry by (1) assessing the work values of 155 secondary school teachers in Taguig City, Philippines; and (2) examining whether there is a significant difference between the work values and demographic variables. Results show that (1) all the work values-discipline, creativity, orderliness, patience, decisiveness, and achievement-are generally very much practiced; and (2) there is no significant difference between work values and each demographic variable. In light of the conclusions, schools should aid inspire secondary school teachers in developing their work values to improve oneself personally and professionally which can influence the performance of the school as a whole. It is also encouraged to broaden the subject matter's purview by expanding it to the regional and national levels.
