However, to improve the status of an environmental component or the efficiency of an environmental service often exceeds the boundaries and the competences of a single municipality; furthermore EMS implementation can require significant human and financial resources which could not be faced by small organizations. In order to cope with the above problems a methodology for implementing an EMS in a cluster of municipalities is presented, with the aim of exploiting the possible synergies for sharing knowledge and resources and creating scaleeconomies to better deal with the environmental issues of the whole territory, both at cluster and at single municipality level. The proposed method was tested in a cluster of 33 small municipalities located in NW Italy, leading to the ISO 14001/EMAS certification of each organization. In this study the main methodological steps for implementing the proposed cluster approach and some significant outcomes of its application in the case study are presented.

In our days, the economical environment characterized by globalization and by a continuous change, offers many times to the decisional factors some situations which are surrounded by uncertainty and ambiguity, fact that in its turn leads to a subjectivism of their reasoning, which is in fact a feature of the abstract thinking of human being itself. This aspects are manifesting also in the field of personnel selection, where the evaluations related to this process are often subjectives, materialized through qualitative linguistic values. In this context, using the proposed fuzzy methodology, embedded in a fuzzy software tool developed in the Java programming language, can offer significantly opportunities and chances to achieve the excellence in this field of research, because the future and performance of any organization depend by the human resources that are working within it

Major changes have taken place in the education system, where specific activities migrated suddenly from onsite to online. As a result, this period has witnessed an increased interest in impact studies that analyse the perceptions of the actors involved in the educational process. Based on the survey data (N = 665), the perceptions of the students in Romanian universities with regard to the effects of online education during the pandemic on their wellbeing were analysed. The empirical apparatus—SEM analysis—reached the following conclusions: the students’ wellbeing was increased under the traditional education system; the economic crisis has caused concern, and a decrease in their wellbeing; their contamination fear is moderate to low, and does not influence their wellbeing; they have been discouraged in terms of their personal development during the pandemic, and their wellb...

We used a quantitative research method in the form of a questionnaire and analysed eight dimensions of safety and security: detectors, emergency preparedness, medical preparedness, staff security, guestroom security, pool and beach security, hotel access control, and cyber security. We identified the differences between tourists’ perception of safety and security depending on the level of classification of accommodation services and on generation.

It contains general aspects about this powerful performance improvement tool, including types of benchmarking, steps to follow in Benchmarking analysis, its goals, the benefits in using it and some dangers caused by using it, also; the whole paperwork can be considered as being a plea for continuous, ongoing, unending improvement in management context and sustains the idea that benchmarking enables decision-makers to understand exactly how much improvement they will need to accomplish in order to achieve superior performance. We decided to broach this issue because even if it is an actual one, none of the existing articles did not attempt to answer whether or not benchmarking is a valid long-term strategy that should be implemented by nowaday's companies. The case study examines the benchmarking initiatives taken by Xerox, one of the world's leading copier companies, as a part of its 'Leadership through Quality' program; the case discusses the benchmarking concept and its implementation in various processes at Xerox and it also explores the positive impact of benchmarking practices on this company.

The purpose of this article is to present the necessity of adapting educational services, namely those in the sphere of higher education, to the labour market and in particular the manner in which the requirements of the labour market are currently well understood and fulfilled by universities. The study offers a unique approach to comparing the two country groups: the eurozone countries and the EU noneuro countries during the 2008–2019 period. The model is estimated with the help of the OLS method by using panel data. The study aims to identify which life quality indicators significantly influence the EU member states’ banking systems evolution and develop models dividing the countries into two groups. Our conclusions show that, among all the determinant factors analysed in this study, household consumption and internet users strongly influence all EU countries’ banking systems.

Despite the fact that it is permanently approached in specialty works, discussed and analyzed at congresses, seminars and internal meetings, motivation seems to continue to conceal secrets for (too) many employers, while the polls with the employees hired in big companies certainly demonstrate that they are not motivated in accordance with the contribution they bring to the company welfare. Though the financial side of motivation is widely preferred and known by the both parts-employer and employee-, in the present study we shall insist and plead for the possibilities of application and the results of the efficient non-financial motivation plan to the internal climate and the lasting performance of the firm. The aim of the present work is to understand the strategic importance of the non-financial motivation in the management process, being well known the fact that the performance obtained at the level of organization as well as its prestige crucially depend upon the quality of human resource motivation.
