Data were generated from 118 respondents. The Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation was utilized as test statistic in assessing the hypothesized relationship. Results indicated that the psychological resources of commitment, control, and challenge dimensions of employee emotional hardiness had significant (albeit) negative relationships with intentions to quit. The study found that an increase in the dimensions of employee emotional hardiness moderates the intentions of employees to quit. We recommend management should encourage regular training of employees in hardiness, enhance good social support in work relationships, and encourage the use of effective stress management strategies to mitigate intentions to quit arising from such distressful circumstances. Isomorphism explains the forces that persuade and trigger organizations to pattern or recreate itself towards homogeneity. Going by our literary diagnosis, it was observed that the success and failure of an organization is largely tied to its responsiveness towards environmental expectations. Hence, isomorphic pressures such as coercive influence, normative behavior and mimetic process are associated with both opportunities and threats which have the potentials to make or mar the fortunes of organizations. Consequently, the study concludes that organizational survival is only possible in a climate of environmental awareness and swift responses and adaptation to isomorphic dictates. Therefore, we recommend that organizations should develop sustainable resilient behaviors through adaptive capacity building, situation awareness and key...

The population of the study was 156 top echelon members of the selected organizations; whereas the sample size was 112 as determined using the Taro Yemen’s formula. Questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. Data were presented using descriptive statistics and hypotheses were tested with the Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation Coefficient and results showed that there is a significant association of three dimensions of information systems with the measures of organizational performance. The study concluded that adoption of information systems in the fast food outlets is capable of bringing about better performance because it allows the organizations to:(1) have hands- on information on virtually every bit of its operations, (2) promotes prudent and transparent resource application and (3) makes organizations to speedily and flexibly respond to service requests. Data collection was through structured questionnaire and the unit of analysis was the individual. Data was generated from a sample of 108 employees drawn from four selected manufacturing companies located in Rivers State. Three research hypotheses were postulated in the null form, two bivariate and one multivariate. The non-parametric spearman’s rank order correlation test was used in the test for hypothesized bivariate relations; while the bootstrap test for mediation was used in the test for the hypothesized mediating effect of the contextual variable. The analysis showed that perceived managerial competency significantly correlates with both employee cognitive and affective trust, and that the organizations cultural power distance dimension partially but significantly mediates the relationship between perceived managerial competency and em...

With the ever-changing nature of the Nigerian business environment, a systematic approach to solve the problems becomes increasingly necessary. Coupled with the rapid increase in the number of corporate bodies and products or services today than before also calls for special attention. Base on what we gathered, to prosper in the business, either the individual must continue to add to his present skills and knowledge or he must gather around him human resources whose personality, training, skills, and energy can be combined into a productive corporate organization.

Primary data was generated from 144 top level management staff of the target banks through structured questionnaire and analysis was undertaken in four major phases: the demographic, univariate, bivariate and the multivariate. The findings reveal significant relationships in all hypothetical instances; all three empirical referents of entrepreneurial orientation adopted which are; innovativeness, proactiveness and risk-taking are found to be significantly associated with organizational survivability, also human capital management was also revealed to partially, yet significantly, mediate the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and organizational survivability. On basis of these, the study recommends that: (1) banks should imbibe an attitude of openness to change through flexible service systems and service delivery processes (2) work patterns, systems and structures should be made permeable enough to allow for the flow of new ideas to foster improved operational standards(3) creativity should be encouraged among staff through support systems which celebrate suggestions, inputs and quality contributions based on experience, skill or knowledge; and (4) employees should be recognised and treated as the only resource with the potentials to expand or shrink output at will depending on state of mind.

Counter-productive Work -behaviour (criterion variable) is further operationalized using five measures – abuse, production deviation, sabotage, theft, and withdrawal. The cross-sectional survey design is adopted and data is generated using the structured questionnaire. 197 respondents comprising doctors, nursing staff, lab technicians and other administrative staff selected from an accessible population of 402 staff provided responses to the questions. A total of five hypotheses are proposed and tested using descriptive and inferential statistical tools. Results indicate significant relationships in all hypothetical instances, thereby implying an association between Supervisors’ Toxicity and Subordinates’ Counter-productive Work- behavior. The study therefore concludes that Subordinates are quick to recipro...

Risk mitigation in the form of leveraging multiple advanced technologies further increases the likelihood of identifying efficacious treatments in aggressive timelines. Methods In this study, we describe two parallel, yet distinct, in vivo approaches for accelerated discovery of antibodies targeting the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 spike protein. Working with human transgenic Alloy-GK mice, we detail a single B-cell discovery workflow to directly interrogate antibodies secreted from plasma cells for binding specificity and ACE2 receptor blocking activity. Additionally, we describe a concurrent accelerated hybridoma-based workflow utilizing a DiversimAb™ mouse model for increased diversity. Results The panel of antibodies isolated from both workflows revealed binding to distinct epitopes with both blocking and no...

The paper recognized online shopping systems as the collection of tools and telecommunication elements that enables the shopping behavior of initiating and completing business transactions without or with minimal direct human to human contact. The paper observed that this style of shopping has reached advance stage in developed climes, but still at infancy in most third world countries; including Nigeria. The Internet has made online shopping not only a possibility but also a huge success contributing to economies around the globe. The paper pinpointed the role of trust in the integrity of online shopping and advocated the need to build trust in the system because the more reliable consumers perceive a business domain to be, the more willing they are to transact there in. the paper also suggests that vendors should introduce online reviews of their products and encourage customers who have bought and used a product to honestly share their experiences on the product page as a way to create improved customer experiences.

There are those who have a penchant for arrogating unrealistic competences to themselves either ignorantly or as a personal impression management strategy. Given this understanding, this study conceptually reviewed the concept of overconfidence at work and the dangers and gains associated with it. After a critical literature exploration, it was discovered that overconfidence is an invasive behavior driven by three different forces in the individual which must be subdued in order to have a realistic understanding of self-competence. Based on this, we conclude that overconfidence is not a healthy cognitive phenomenon and should be avoided in the workplace because it brings nothing but halfway gains, irreparable damage, and embarrassments in the long term.
