Canada, by using Moldflow [1] combined with the optimization method developed by Dr. Genichi Taguchi. The method uses statistical principles and involves reducing the variation in a process through robust design of experiments. The experimental design proposed by Taguchi uses orthogonal arrays to organize the parameters affecting the process and the levels at which they should be varied; it allows for the collection of the necessary data to determine which factors most affect product quality with a minimum amount of experimentation, thus saving time and resources. Moldflow allows part designers and mold makers to predict the manufacturability and quality of their design during preliminary product development stages. It helps to select the best injection gates configuration, as well as the values of mold temperature (Tw), melt temperature (Tm) and an optimized bod...

Filled polymer could be used as matrix for reinforced composites in order to improve the material response to external changes. In this manner it is possible to design multi-functional materials which might be obtained using cheap components and simple forming techniques. This is a comparative study of two particulate composites Clay/Epoxy and Zn/Epoxy.

The filling pattern developed during the mold filling plays a decisive role on the final part quality, thus, in this paper we have investigated the filling pattern and the volumetric flow rate during the filling of a tubular runner for three different materials. The melt is treated as an incompressible, non-Newtonian the Ostwald-de Waele model with a power-law relationship between the shear stress and the shear rate.

Is it possible to control the properties of a composite through alternation of its various layers? Is it possible, finally, to obtain a multifunctional material based on a right design, on a cheap forming technique, on accessible components? This study is about partially answering the above questions. Two types of fiber fabric were used to form composites with filled epoxy matrix and materials bending and thermo-mechanical properties were evaluated using appropriate recommended methods.

Also, it is known that filled polymeric composites show interesting properties especially when the fillers are nanosized. In such conditions it is expected that laminate composites formed with filled epoxy will show different properties. One of the most important goals is to ensure adhesion of epoxy matrix to the reinforcement. The mechanical properties were evaluated using 3 point bending tests.

Starting with the idea that filling the matrix with various powders it is possible to change the electric behaviour some layered materials were formed having as reinforcement 15 layers of kevlar and carbon fibre simple type fabric. CNT, Ferrite and Talc were used as fillers and the Clay as modification agent for epoxy resin. The dielectric permittivity was evaluated using standard recommended method. Mechanical properties of materials were evaluated based on 3 point bending tests.
