In a disaster situation, the dependence of social media of the people may be more due to the eagerness of the people to know about the situation and the easiness to send and receive information. People in different age groups may have different ways of using social media especially during a disaster situation. The present study is an attempt to find out whether age of the disaster affected people influenced their dependence on social media during disaster situation. The study was conducted among 120 flood victims (out which 115 responded) of the Kerala flood of 2018 and 2019. The study reveals that the use of social media was moderately high among the people of the flood affected areas in Kerala. During the time of flood in Kerala, the most used social media platform was WhatsApp. The p-value calculated for testing the significance of the association between age and social media dependence reveals that there is no significant association between age and dependence of social media during the Kerala flood. It rarely simply spans the nine months of gestation, but is a product of a lifetime of learning, planning, and social influence. The study aims to ascertain the reading habits of pregnant women in Thiruvananthapuram City. A structured questionnaire with open-ended and closed-ended questions were used for collecting the data. The questionnaires were distributed to 150 pregnant women across the Thiruvananthapuram city in 4 selected hospitals as well as among family and friends following the simple random sampling method. The study reveals that that majority of the respondents were well educated and as a result, this was reflected in their reading habit as well. Most of them enjoyed reading during their pregnancy as a greater number of respondents were first-time mothers. The preference of the respondents for print format over digital was quite striking and unexpected. The Internet has become a popular source for information related to pregnancy apart from the community, i.e., family, friends and doctor. Online information sources such as search engines, YouTube, pregnancy-related applications, social media apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook were also widely used by pregnant women. The objective of the present study is to analyze the subject categorization of Geology journals included in the 2021 Scopus Source List (SSL 2021) with respect to their different Scopus journal indices like CiteScore (CS), SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) and Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP). Data were collected from the SSL 2021 of Elsevier's Scopus. The nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test revealed that statistically there is no significant difference among different subject-categorized Geology journals in respect of their journal metrics in the SSL 2021.The findings enable in the choice of a suitable journal to publish scholarly papers in Geolog based on their subject categorization and journal metrics in Scopus.
