The present study was undertaken to investigate the leave extracts of eleven plant species; Malva sherardiana, Plumbago europaea, Ephedra alata, Arum Palestinum , Centaurea dumulosa , Eruca Sativa, Teucrium polium, Bupleurum subovatum , Geranium robertianum , Ononis speciosa and Plumbago auriculata for their potential activity against human bacterial pathogens and antioxidant efficiency. The crude extract of the plant leaves and selected antibiotic was evaluated against five different bacterial pathogens : Staphylococcus aureus, (gram positive), Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella sp., and Pseudomonas aeroginosa (gram negative) using agar well diffusion method. The Gram-positive bacteria S. aureus showed the higher susceptibility of inhibition with most plant extracts mainly Plumbago europaea methanol extract with zone of 12 mm, Centaurea dumulosa extract with 10 mm in...

The resultant reduced calorie uptake enables a positive effect on weight control. Systemic absorption of the drug is, therefore, not necessary for its mode of action. An alternative in vitro study (pharmacodynamic) has been introduced for this drug, as in vivo bioavailability studies are irrelevant with regard to the achievement of the product's intended purposes. To develop a new validated high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the analysis of orlistat and to assess the potency and equivalence of three orlistat formulations using the pharmacodynamic method as a surrogate indicator of pharmaceutical interchangeability. A new HPLC method was developed for the analysis and for the dissolution studies of orlistat in capsules. Pancreatic lipase activity was measured for three different capsule product...

It is used often in folk's medicine for the treatment of various diseases. In this project, E. alata extract was tested for its ability to improve wound and burn healing. Methods: An aqueous extract of E. alata was prepared and underwent several phytochemical analyses for the presence of the major classes of phytochemical compounds. After that, a polyethylene glycol-based ointment containing the extract of E. alata was prepared and its wound and burn healing activities were tested in-vivo using an animal model for deep wound and full thickness skin burn. The effect was compared against a placebo ointment. Skin biopsies were evaluated by a blinded clinical histopathologist, in addition to digital analysis. Results: Phytochemical analysis demonstrated the presence of the major classes of phytochemical compounds in the prepared extract including flavonoids, alkaloids, phytosteroids, phenolic compounds, volatile oils and tannins. As compared to placebo ointment, E. alata ointment significantly improved the healing of the wound ulcers, whereas it showed no advantage on the quality of the healing of burn ulcers. Conclusion: E. alata extract is rich in phytochemical compounds and can improve wound healing when applied topically.

To achieve the purpose of this study, 60 fifth primary pupils were chosen to be the sample of the present study, 30 pupils were considered to be the experimental group in which the experiment has been applied. The other 30 pupils were assumed to be the control group, in which the conventional way of teaching conversation is conveyed. The findings indicate that the experimental group subjects' performance has been found to be better than that of the control group subjects conversation on the post-test and that the experimental group subjects show statistically significant increases in the use of index card games on the post-administration of the test.On the basis of the results obtained, it is highly recommended to use index card games in teaching conversation for the second primary school students.

This opposition gives rise to the existence of a binary implying two contrasting concepts ascribed to these two animals. (positive and negative terms), which in turn are linked to further semiotic relationships constituting the oppositional binary. To arrive at the meaning of a binary, it must be analyzed to show how the fable's meaning is constructed. The most workable model is that of Greimas' Semiotic Square which can be utilized to distinguish the types of opposition involved and to explore the types of the relationship underlying the oppositional relationship constituting the fable's binary. Two fables of 'Kalila wa Dimna' have been selected to be analyzed in terms of Greimas' square The study concludes that the two animals in Aesop's Fables generally represent two opposing terms (positive and negative) which are semiotically further analyzed into two implicit relationships (contradiction and implication). In other words, the componential meaning of a binary is based on the interrelations between these contrasting terms.
