The purpose of this study was to determine the process of forming derivational and inflectional affixes and the types of derivational affix functions used in song lyrics on Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” album. Researcher used 3 songs, including: Love Story, You Belong With Me and Breathe. The approach of this research was descriptive qualitative research. The instrument used was the researcher as the main instrument and document analysis as the second instrument used to collect data. The aim of this research is to find out the forms and meaning changes of dysphemism and euphemism... more The aim of this research is to find out the forms and meaning changes of dysphemism and euphemism expression on online news text used in Indonesian-English translation. This research is a qualitative descriptive study and document analysis used as the instrument. The participant in this research was nine students of 6th semester of English Education Department at Universitas Muhammadiyah Cirebon in the academic year of 2022/2023. Data collection was collected with documents students’ translation result in translating online news text. The results showed that five euphemisms were found, namely colloquial, jargon, understatement, hyperbole, circumlocution and one for one substitutions. Meanwhile, the forms of dysphemism found were IST dysphemism (racist) and Derogatory or Disrespectful Terms Invoking Contempt for the Character Intended. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The subject of the research was one English teacher who teaches in two classes in tenth grade students of One Vocational School in Cirebon. Data collection are obtained through observation and interviews. The findings show that the number of strategies used by teacher is five types of teaching strategies, namely informing learning objectives, divergent questions, group discussions, giving feedback, and motivating. English language teachers are not exceptions. In continuing their professional development, teachers actually have flexibility to choose either training or self-directed CPD approach. Therefore, it is assumed that depending on the gender and the career developmental stage that they are in, teachers may choose different CPD approach. Thus, this study was aimed to see the relationship between teachers’ career developmental stage, gender and their selection of CPD approaches. In order to achieve that, this study employed descriptive quantitative approach. The participant involved were 54 EFL teachers in Majalengka, West Java. Interview adalah salah satu cara media mencari keterangan akan isu tertentu langsung dari nara sumbernya. Dalam sebuah interview, nara sumber akan ditanya begitu rupa sampai jawaban atas isu tersebut jelas kepada masyarakat dan interview terhadap politikuslah yang paling banyak menarik perhatian masyarakat. Politikus Ahok yang kini menjadi mantan gubernur Jakarta, ibu kota Indonesia, paling banyak menarik perhatian masyarakat. Tidak sedikit makna tersirat terkandung dalam setiap tuturan jawaban politikus tersebut, dan oleh karena itu praanggapan dianggap alat yang baik untuk mengetahui dasar pembicaraan penutur. Praanggapan yang muncul dalam interview Ahok ada sebanyak 21 dengan lima jenis praanggapan yang muncul, yaitu praanggapan konterfaktual sebanyak 33.3%, diikuti oleh praanggapan eksistensial sebanyak 24%, praanggapan struktural sebanyak 19%, praanggapan leksikal sebanyak 14.3%, dan praanggapan non-faktual sebanyak 9.5%. Melalui praanggapan struktural, dapat diketahui bahwa Ahok kecewa dengan Gerindra, partai dimana dia bernaung karena partai itu menjadi salah satu yang tidak ingin dia menjadi gubernur DKI Jakarta. Abstract The title of this research is Presupposition on an Interview of Ahok with Kompas TV regarding "Ahok Discharge from Gerindra". Interview is one of the ways that media looks for information of certain issue from the interviewees. In an interview, the interviewee will be asked many questions thus media has a clear answer for the society. Moreover, an interview with the politician is the most attracting interview for the society. Politician Ahok who is now former governor of Jakarta, capital city of Indonesia, is the most attracting politician for society. There is not a little meaning on every speech of his answer, thus presupposition is a good means to figure out the actual conversation of the speaker. Furthermore, there are 21 presuppositions on Ahok interview consisting of five (5) types of presupposition such as counter-factual presupposition 33,3%, followed by existential presupposition 24%, structural presupposition 19%, lexical presupposition 14,3%, and non-factual presupposition 9,5%. It can be known through structural presupposition that Ahok is disappointed with Gerindra, the party in which he involved. Ahok thinks that Gerindra is one of the party which does not want him to be the governor of Jakarta.

This study is an analysis of the linguistic structure of Jokowi's speech in terms of transitivity... more This study is an analysis of the linguistic structure of Jokowi's speech in terms of transitivity based on Halliday's systemic functional linguistics. Fairclough's three dimensional frameworks and Halliday's functional grammar will be employed to do the research, in which linguistic features, news production and social contexts are explored. This study is an analysis of the linguistic structure of Jokowi's speech in terms of transitivity based on Halliday's systemic functional linguistics. This study analysed the speech in terms of Jokowi's communicative functionality as the context at the time was to persuade businessmen to invest for his country. By figuring out the process types used by Jokowi, as well as participants therein and circumstances assosiated with, the ideologies and identities of Jokowi are revealed and carried out. The research revealed that material process, attributive relational process, and verbal process can be used to represent Jokowi's identities while material processes and verbal process are used to represent Jokowi's ideologies. This is finally in line with Fairclough's understanding of ideology as embedded in discursive practice.
