Yet, the essence of this paper is to reexamine some salient issues regarding the background of the gospel of Mark in terms of the author and recipient. John Mark is widely regarded as the author of the fourth gospel, but not so for the reason stated here in this paper. Although the recipient of the book is attributed to Galilee, Syria, the Decapolis and Rome; this research supports a Rome possibility because of the universality of the place and the influence of Paul on John Mark. This is the gap that we are filling here.

Justin Ukpong's theory of hermeneutical enculturation was adopted in the work. Secondary sources of data collections are mostly used in the work. Findings show that the idea of resurrection was first a common concept partly existing in the ancient Greco-Roman world. It also appears in the Old Testament, the Inter-Testamental period and the New Testament. Mark's resurrection story actually ends at (Mark 16:8), while the later verses (9-20) were added by other evangelists, or scribes who copied Mark, remedied the situation and provided accounts of the appearances. The research support those who establish that the empty tomb tradition was enough evidence to proof that Jesus resurrected. The resurrection story is crucial to Africans as they believe in the reality of the resurrection even in the midst of the suffering they are experiencing, with the hope that God will renew all things and bring new life. Death, to Africans does not separate someone from the family. Rather, the living-dead remain united and connected with the living-living. Speaking of Jesus as ancestor in Africa, means He shares common parentage with them. He is mediating between them and God and modeling for them a good conduct. The resurrection of Jesus Christ to Africans is the symbol of salvation, reconciliation and the proof of Jesus Christ as Messiah.

It appreciates Paul's metaphorical expression of the term in qualifying the Gentiles as children of God, especially when the latter needed reassurance after they had given their lives to Christ. This is due to the bitter ordeals of the gentiles with the Jews in the past, with the latter seeing themselves as the only people deserving of God's fatherhood. Using secondary sources of data collection and the evaluative method of Justin Ukpong's theory of cultural hermeneutics, the paper reveals the relevance of Paul's use of huiothesia to African Christians to mean that, through adoption, the African race has been sharing in the blessings of Abraham. Never again is anyone to come to God with a sorrowful conscience, thinking that he or she is a sinner, but should approach him boldly as a son. Although the employment of ὑιοθησια may be strange to African Christians owing to their background, the term should be accepted on the ground that in the word of God, where they put their faith, it means full sonship when applied.

of honour in Jesus’ coming kingdom, the same way a Vice President went to inform his
boss of his desire to take over from him in 2023. The reactions emanating from such
request is going to be a frown face from the other disciples who are probably angry
because James and John were the first to make such request. And on the other hand,
the Vice President’s political godfather and presidential hopeful would remark that none
of his sons is grown enough to declare for president. The resultant effect of the
foregoing drama will be a sharp division within the disciples and the ruling party’s camp;
with arguments and counter arguments being laid down for the latter that the Vice
President was not right to have declared for that office, or he was, knowing fully that his
godfather was equally eyeing the same position. This is going to become a tug of war, if
the situation is not properly handled by Jesus and the Nigerian president. The two
leaders’ responses are therefore going to ensure that their camp remains united and not
broken. This paper will thus seek to use the approach of Jesus and the Nigerian
President in handling the issue of power tussle/succession to address the problem of
conflict in succession from different aspects of national life, be it the monarchy, church,
government, education and family. The work will adopt histo-critical and comparative
method of enquiry as well as make use of the media and other relevant literature to
carry out the research.

This entails that one major hallmark or aim of politics is to drive the society and members towards prosperity, and prosperity is multidimensional-it stretches to include good social relations and economic wellbeing. Good social relationship is built on the pillars of righteousness or moral uprightness, equity and justice. It is not surprising that there is a nexus between religion and politics, and the religions (Islam, Christianity and African Traditional Religion)

Nigeria have been caused by political, religious, social and economic
factors. But the Fulani-herdsmen (ethnic factor) crisis in focus, which
is seen by many, especially the Christian body as a major source of
religious crisis in the country, has been under-explored. The
educational, individual and corporate bodies have also attempted to
proffer solutions to the religious crisis in Nigeria in the past, but little
has been done on this issue from the Christian perspective, especially
the current Fulani herdsmen crisis. This is the gap that the researcher
intends to fill. Using the secondary sources of data collection, the
paper will employ “St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine’s theory
of just war, which emphasizes the taking away of someone’s life as a
wrong act and that every state is duty-bound to defend the life of their
citizens and uphold justice. Using the comparative approach of
interrogation, the researcher will strongly support those who argue
strongly in this paper that the Fulani Herdsmen are predominantly
Islam. And since the great grandfathers of the Fulani in Nigeria were
Muslims and while they were still alive, they were majorly involved
in the Holy War agenda known as Jihad, to spread Islam in every
nook and cranny of this nation, until they were no more; then it can
only be imagined that the present Fulani herdsmen who are wantonly
killing innocent citizens of the country and displacing people from
their ancestral homes surely carry with it a religious connotation.
However, the research will employ legal Christian solutions in
tackling this current menace and bring about a lasting peaceful
society that secures lives and property
