Dick Fairley
Richard E. (Dick) Fairley PhD is a retired professor of software and systems engineering. He has a consulting company and provides training courses to industry. His education is in electrical engineering and computer science. His specialties are software engineering, systems engineering, and engineering management. Dick has published three textbooks and many professional papers. His most recent book is Systems Engineering for Software-Intensive Systems, published by Wiley. He is a commissioner, team leader, and program evaluator for ABET – the international organization that evaluates academic programs for accreditation.Dick was a part time jazz disc jockey for many years. He is currently preparing the manuscript for a forthcoming book: Keeping Jazz Alive, 1880 to 2020. His avocations are traveling with his wife Mary Jane, skiing, motorcycle riding, reading Shakespeare and other literature, and listening to/reading about/writing about jazz and the blues. Dick and Mary Jane live in the Colorado mountains northwest of Colorado Spring, Colorado, USA, at an altitude of 9000 feet (2743 meters). Their sunroom looks out on a national forest on the north side of 14,115 feet Pikes Peak (4302 meters) in the background.
